The S-Class Beautiful Sisters at My New School Somehow Got Super Attached to Me and Ended Up Becoming Yandere Without Me Even Realizing It - Chapter 17-18
Chapter 17
“Whoa, it’s huge!”
After about ten minutes on the bus, we arrived in the neighboring town. We crossed the street right from the bus stop and stepped into Daikokuya Bookstore.
“Hehe, you sound like such a country bumpkin saying that.”
“S-sorry, it just slipped out.”
“No, no, I’m just teasing. I actually reacted the same way the first time I came here. The light novel section is straight back that way, so why don’t we each look around on our own for a bit?”
“Got it. See ya later then.”
We split up, and I headed toward the back of the store.
As I walked past the tall shelves packed full of countless books, I got super excited. When I finally reached the light novel corner, the sheer number of titles made me go, “Whoa,” out loud.
“Wow, there’s so many. Man, I should’ve brought more money.”
Besides the famous ones stacked flat in front, there were tons of unfamiliar titles lining the shelves.
I checked my wallet—about three thousand yen.
Well, I could probably buy a few books at least.
“Hmm, this one looks interesting too… and this one’s cover is really pulling me in.”
While I browsed, comparing prices and stuff, a little handwritten pop sign caught my eye that said ‘Beginner-Friendly, Manager’s Recommendations.’
“…Guaranteed to hook anyone just starting out with light novels, huh.”
The book sitting there was a rom-com novel I’d never read before.
Judging by the title, it seemed kinda yandere-ish.
…Beginner-friendly, though.
“I wonder if Yuzuki-san would read this if I recommended it to her.”
She doesn’t really seem like the yandere type, but still.
She did say to let her know if I found any good ones, so maybe I’ll buy this and bring it back for her.
“Oiii, Tendou-kun!”
“Ah, Mizuki-san. Find anything good?”
“I got this one. It’s the winner from last year’s web novel awards.”
Mizuki-san, who had come back while I was in line at the register, proudly showed me a slightly thick book she was holding carefully.
“Oh, yeah, I read that one online. Huh, they actually turned it into a book.”
“Looks like some parts are different too, so I’m really looking forward to it. But more importantly, Tendou-kun, you’re into yandere stuff?”
“It said it’s the manager’s recommendation, so I figured I’d give it a shot.”
When I showed her the cover, she stared at it for a second like she was sizing it up, then went, “Hmm, so that’s the kind of thing you like.”
Mizuki-san stepped out of the register line and headed back into the depths of the store again.
❤︎
“Hmm, the manager’s recommendation, huh.”
When I went over to check out the book Tendou-kun had, sure enough, it was being introduced with a hand-drawn pop sign.
And the word ‘Beginner’ written there really jumped out at me.
“…Am I overthinking this?”
He and I usually have pretty similar tastes in books.
That’s why I figured he wasn’t the type to read yandere stuff, so I wondered if maybe someone else influenced him… or if he was buying it for someone.
It’s probably just my imagination, right?
Plus, Tendou-kun doesn’t really seem to have any close girl friends.
…Well, okay, there is one, but.
No way, right?
“Yuzuki doesn’t even read books anyway.”

Chapter 18
♤
“Whoa, that place was awesome. Seriously, thanks for taking me.”
“No, thank you. It was fun going out with someone after so long.”
We hopped back on the bus and got off at our original stop, then started walking home together.
It was right around lunchtime, and my stomach was starting to growl.
My tummy let out a loud krrrruuu.
“Ah.”
“Hehe, oh yeah, we haven’t eaten lunch yet, huh.”
“S-sorry. I got so into the books I totally forgot.”
“Me too. Hey, what do you usually do for food on days off?”
“It costs money to eat out, so I mostly just eat at home. Grandma’s a really good cook anyway.”
“Oh, really? Actually, I’ve been trying to practice cooking lately. Maybe I should ask your grandma to teach me sometime.”
“Seriously? Then I’ll let her know. She used to run cooking classes until recently, and even after she stopped, she gets kinda lonely, so she sometimes invites people over for little cooking parties and stuff.”
Grandma had told me before to feel free to invite anyone over, so I casually threw it out there.
“…Is that really okay?”
For some reason Mizuki-san looked a little embarrassed, her cheeks going kinda pink.
Is she shy around new people or something?
She doesn’t really seem like the type, though.
“Of course. Grandma would be thrilled.”
“Then… maybe I’ll take you up on that next week? For today, let’s just grab something around here and eat on the way back.”
In the end, we bought hamburgers together and munched on them while I walked Mizuki-san all the way home.
When we got to her place, she made sure to say, “Next week is a promise, okay?” like she was double-checking.
Mizuki-san gave me another shy little look before heading inside.
♡
“I’m homeee~”
I was just spacing out in my room, reading the book Tendou-kun recommended yesterday that I borrowed and brought back.
Then I heard Mizuki’s voice from the entrance.
“Ahh, that was so much fun. We already made plans for next week too, can’t wait~”
Mizuki was saying it all loud and fake-casual.
Obviously so I could hear it from my room.
God, what a nasty personality.
It’s not like it’s new or anything—Mizuki can actually be pretty mean-spirited when she wants to be.
I’m not exactly one to talk, but still, the reason we’ve always gotten along as sisters without any real fights is because our tastes are so different.
We never had to compete over the same stuff, so there was never any reason to argue.
But right now, that side of her personality is seriously pissing me off.
And at the same time…
I’m kinda jealous too.
I could never be like Mizuki.
“…Ugh, seriously, so annoying.”
Tendou-kun hasn’t texted me since then either.
I hear that double-texting or chasing after someone just makes them hate you, so it’s hard to…
“Yuzuki, I’m back~ I already ate lunch, so I’m good.”
Mizuki said that right outside my door.
Then I heard the door to the next room snap shut.
“What did she eat for lunch, I wonder…”
What they did after the coffee.
Where they went.
What they talked about with Mizuki.
What that “promise for next week” even is.
It’s all stuck in my head and won’t leave me alone.
I pressed my ear against the wall toward her room.
But I couldn’t hear Mizuki’s voice.
Doesn’t sound like she’s on the phone or anything.
“…Okay, fine.”
I hate feeling like this the whole rest of my day off.
So I grabbed my phone and called him.
“…Will he even pick up?”
“…Hello?”
“Ah, h-hello? Um, it’s me! Me! You know who, right?”
I sounded like some scam caller or something.
On the other end, he was quietly chuckling.
“What’s got you so flustered, Yuzuki-san?”
“Ah… n-no reason. Mizuki just got home, and, uh, she’s kinda selfish sometimes, so I was worried maybe she bothered you or something.”
“Not at all. Actually, it was really fun. She even took me to a big bookstore in the next town over.”
“Next town… you guys went that far?”
My chest squeezed tight again.
“It was huge and super fun. Oh, and uh, this might be extra, but I got you a souvenir, Yuzuki-san.”
“A souvenir? For me?”
“Yeah. You said let you know if I found any good books, so I grabbed one from the manager’s recommendations. I’ll give it to you at club next time.”
He said it in this kinda excited, happy voice.
And just like that, the tight feeling in my chest loosened up a little, I think.
“…W-well, if you’re gonna insist that much, then fine, I’ll read it since you went through the trouble. So, what’s it like?”
“Hmm, it’s a yandere-type one.”
“What even is that? You sure it’s something I’d like?”
“Well, I haven’t read it either, so I dunno. But it said it’s easy for beginners, so I figured it’d be just right for you, Yuzuki-san.”
Those words hit me all over.
He was actually thinking about me…
“…Thanks.”
“Huh? Did you say something?”
“N-nothing! Anyway, now I’m curious about that book, so can I come get it tomorrow?”
“S-sure. You already finished the last one I lent you?”
“Y-yeah, I finished it just now.”
“Wow, you’re fast. How was it?”
“I-it was pretty easy to read, I guess. So now I wanna jump into the next one quick.”
“Got it. See you tomorrow then.”
“U-um, yeah. Tomorrow.”
When the call ended, my forehead was kinda sweaty.
“Haa… that was exhausting.”
My heart was still pounding super fast.
Now that I think about it, this might’ve been my first time ever talking to a guy on the phone.
Maybe that’s why I was so nervous.
…Tomorrow, huh.
I actually wanted to say “right now,” but…
I’m the type who likes to save the best stuff for later.
“…Can’t wait to read that book.”

Oh, I really liked how it developed into this kind of competitiveness between the sisters and it seems Tendou shares some tastes with one and shares some tastes with the other so neither sister will “win”.
I also like how Yuzuki is all Tsundere still. In general, I like stories where the female MC(s) are more fleshed out and we get to see almost equal amounts of the story from their POV
Oh no, you brought it upon yourself Asuka (we will witness your career with great interest)
