The S-Class Beautiful Sisters at My New School Somehow Got Super Attached to Me and Ended Up Becoming Yandere Without Me Even Realizing It - Chapter 15-16
Chapter 15
“Was the coffee too bitter?”
Mizuki-san asked me, sounding kinda worried.
“Uh, um… yeah, it’s good?”
“Liar. Your face looks all scrunched up.”
“S-sorry… it’s just, I’ve never really drunk coffee outside before.”
“Hehe, everybody’s like that at first.”
“But like, I can kinda tell this is good coffee. It’s definitely bitter, but it doesn’t make my mouth feel gross, and the smell is super calming.”
I tried my best to give an honest opinion, and Mizuki-san propped her cheek on her hand, going “hmm” with a little smile.
“You’ve got good taste, huh.”
“Huh?”
“Nothing. So, what kinda books do you like, Tendou-kun?”
“Books? Hmm… lately it’s mostly light novels, I guess.”
“Ahh, same. Those are just the easiest to read, right? Got any recent ones you’d recommend?”
“If I had to pick… probably this series. I love the funny back-and-forth between the characters, so I’ve been reading it nonstop.”
I pulled it up on my phone and showed her. She blinked, eyes going wide again.
“This… this is one I like too.”
“For real? It’s so good, right? They’re making an anime out of it soon, so I’m pretty hyped.”
“Hehe, you’re suddenly super talkative.”
“Ah… s-sorry, was that creepy?”
“No way, not at all. I’m actually kinda an otaku myself. Yuzuki’s not really into this stuff, so it’s nice to have someone to talk about it with.”
The way Mizuki-san lowered the corners of her eyes while sipping her coffee had this elegant vibe to it. Hard to believe we’re the same age.
Even if they’re twins, being the older sister probably makes her act that way.
“This is actually the first time I’ve ever talked about this kinda stuff with somebody else.”
“Then we’re even. Hey, about shopping after this… since we’re out, wanna hit up a bookstore?”
“Bookstore? Sure, but around here it’s just that tiny one by the station, right?”
“I go there too sometimes, but it’s not really worth dragging both of us over there. If we take the bus to the next town, there’s Daikokuya Bookstore.”
“Seriously? I’ve always wanted to check that place out.”
“Then it’s settled.”
Mizuki-san stood up and headed toward the back of the café.
Right after she left, the Manager came over to our table.
“Here, if you’d like.”
“Huh, cake? N-no, I can’t just take that.”
“It’s fine, it’s fine. Mizuki-chan’s always helping us out anyway. Oh, and I wanted to ask you something.”
“Y-yeah?”
“Are you her boyfriend?”
She asked it so casually, with that same smile.
I panicked and shook my head fast.
“N-n-no! We’re just classmates, that’s all!”
“Oh, you’re not? I totally thought you were.”
“N-no way, definitely not. I mean, Mizuki-san’s super pretty and popular and all.”
“You think? I actually think you two look really good together.”
“…If you say stuff like that, Mizuki-san’s gonna get mad at me.”
“Haha, maybe. But seriously, don’t put yourself down so much. Just some big-sister advice.”
She set the cake down, gave me a couple light pats on the shoulder, then headed back to the kitchen.
❤︎
“Was that okay?”
“Thanks, Shiori-san. So, how was he?”
In the back of the café, I was whispering with Shiori-san, the Manager.
The usual strategy: win over the people around him first if you wanna get closer. So I asked for a tiny bit of help.
“He seems like a really nice kid. And honestly? I think he might actually be into you.”
“I-I’m not thinking that far yet!”
“Hehe, the way you both get all shy around each other is adorable. Anyway, if you ever get stuck, just bring him here anytime. I’ll help smooth things over.”
“O-okay.”
I bowed a little to Shiori-san, then turned to look at Tendou-kun’s back while he sat waiting for me at the table.
He really does have the same hobbies and tastes as me.
And more than anything…
He actually sees me.
He sees the difference between me and Yuzuki clearly.
I love Yuzuki, but I hate when people treat us like we’re the exact same person.
I’m not some messy kid who can’t keep things organized like she is, and I do way better in school too.
Sure, I can’t beat her at sports, but there are tons of things I work harder at and win at anyway.
Nobody ever got that.
Nobody ever gave me credit for it.
But he does.
He really understands.
And that… yeah, it makes me so happy deep down.
That’s why I wanna get even closer to him.
Closer than anyone else.
I want him to know me better than anybody.
I wanna know him better than anybody.
…More than Yuzuki does.
More than her.

Chapter 16
♡
“…Wonder what he’s doing right now.”
Even though I woke up super early, Mizuki had already left the house by then.
Mizuki’s never once gotten up earlier than me on a weekend and gone out like this. The only reason she’d go this far is because she’s got some serious feelings about Tendou-kun.
She’s always looked like the quiet type, but she’s actually really competitive. Bet she’s dying to get close to him before I do.
“…But seriously, showing up at his place this early? That’s kinda crazy.”
If some girl she doesn’t even like dragged him around from the crack of dawn, Tendou-kun would probably be pretty uncomfortable.
So this is just me, like, doing big-sister cleanup duty. I’m only sending a message, that’s it. Really.
“Umm… ‘Morning. Is Mizuki being a bother?’”
I sent the text and waited a bit.
Once the read receipt finally popped up, his reply came back right away.
‘Morning. Nah, not a bother at all. She even took me to this really good coffee place.’
Good coffee… gotta be Shiori-san’s café.
I only go when someone invites me, but Mizuki’s super attached to her and goes all the time.
Introducing Tendou-kun to her family already?
…What’s with that clingy move.
‘Oh, you can drink coffee? I’m not really good with it.’
Not good with it—I straight-up can’t.
No matter how many times I try, it doesn’t work. Even at that café I just order cocoa.
So coffee tastes good to him, huh. They really are on the same wavelength.
I was feeling kinda grumpy again when—
‘Between us, I’m actually not great with coffee… cocoa’s more my thing maybe.’
When I read that, my face just broke into a smile without thinking.
Ohhh, so he’s just going along with Mizuki a bit.
Tendou-kun seems like the type who can’t say no, and Mizuki can be pretty self-centered even if she doesn’t look it.
Got it, got it.
“…Kinda feel better now, weirdly.”
Just him bothering to reply on LINE like this already makes me feel relieved. Probably because I’m trying to one-up Mizuki.
Jealousy? Never felt that before in my life.
I’m me, y’know? Even if I think someone’s amazing, I’ve never envied anybody.
It’s not jealousy. Nope.
♤
“Sorry I took so long… wait, you ordered cake?”
“T-this was on the house from the Manager.”
“Eh—yay! Thanks, Manager-san!”
Mizuki-san glanced behind me real quick and gave a little bow.
I turned around and saw the Manager a short distance away, giving us a bright, refreshing smile and a nod.
“Well then, since we’ve got it, let’s eat up.”
“Yeah. Itadakimasu… mm, so good!”
The shortcake’s sweetness hit perfect right after the coffee bitterness was still hanging around in my mouth.
“Right? Everything here is delicious. Oh, try the coffee again now?”
“O-okay.”
I took a sip of the coffee that had cooled off a little.
Then—
“Mm, whoa, good!”
“See? The bitter and sweet switching back and forth is nice, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, surprised me. Ahh, now I get why people say it’s good.”
While I was nodding in admiration, Mizuki-san puffed up all proud like she’d made it herself, then gave a little nod.
“Alright, looks like you get why this place is great. Shall we head to the bookstore after we finish?”
After that we both quietly ate our cake and sipped our coffee.
It felt kinda fancy and chill for a morning.
Then the two of us left the café together.
