Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V2 Chapter 22
Chapter 22: “Something’s Going On Behind the Scenes, Huh?”
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto stood in front of Natsuki Yura’s house, ensuring the student had finally fallen into a peaceful sleep before turning to leave.
Walking in the night breeze for a while, he spotted a familiar face and greeted them.
“Good evening, Lucifer-dono.”
“Good evening, Tsukuyomi-dono.”
Walking down the road at midnight was Lucifer, carrying an eco-bag.
“Running an errand?”
“Ordered by my father to buy beer from the supermarket. Japanese supermarkets are wonderful.”
“Both of us are troubled by our fathers, aren’t we?”
“No doubt about it.”
Tsukuyomi and Lucifer shared a laugh. Both were constantly troubled by their fathers. There must be a connection they felt as sons.
“Now that we’ve met, would you care for a little chat, Tsukuyomi-dono?”
“Not at all.”
Leaning against the guardrail, Lucifer offered a beer to Tsukuyomi. “Thank you,” Tsukuyomi smiled, accepting it.
They opened their cans with a pop, toasted, and took a sip of beer.
After a moment of silence, Lucifer began to speak.
“Have you noticed their traces?”
“Of course.”
“What’s being done about it?”
“For now, we’re just observing.”
“Such a typical response from a Japanese deity.”
“My brother is eager to fight, but there’s no need to provoke them unnecessarily. Ignoring them can sometimes inflict damage too.”
“Some of the demons seem to have sided with them.”
“And how are you handling that?”
“Satan-sama says to leave them be. Personally, I want to kill them.”
“Satan-sama is truly the devil, huh, unfettered, free. It’s not something the gods can easily emulate.”
“Hmh. Easy for a carefree god to say.”
Lucifer finished his beer with a snort.
“Is it possible to coexist with them?”
“Unlikely. Even if we were willing, they reject it.”
“…So it’s the same on your side. I thought at least dialogue could be possible, but their stance remains unchanged—they want us gone.”
“These newly born gods and demons dare to…”
“And yet, these newborns have already outmaneuvered us.”
“Hmph. Whether gods or demons, the weak lose. It’s the law of nature.”
“Still, I question the loss of life that could have been avoided.”
“Then try making friends and getting along. If that’s not possible, it only leaves killing each other. That’s how we’ve always lived.”
“Yes. That’s exactly why I want to change that way of living.”
“Naive. Or perhaps, it’s arrogance from strength. Tsukuyomi-dono, you truly are more arrogant than I.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
After finishing his beer, Tsukuyomi flashed a smile at Lucifer and said, “Thank you for the treat.”
“Among the students, there’s one blessed by the god of love. Thankfully, their power is tightly sealed, but there might still be some contact.”
“You let them roam freely, despite this?”
“Well, since they misused their power, we’ve been using them as live bait.”
“A true educator would find this appalling.”
“It’s a harsh reality. However, my role as an instructor here is to await further contact from the human granted powers by the god of love.”
Years ago, a certain god opposed to Tsukuyomi and Lucifer made contact with a boy, granting him power for unknown reasons.
Though the boy never fully realized his power, he sensed something within him that worked to his advantage, leading him into mischief.
This mischief, however, was limited to making himself appear favorable to the opposite sex, and while his ill intentions targeted specific individuals, it wasn’t severe enough to warrant divine intervention.
There are those worldwide who receive blessings or are influenced by various gods. Tsukuyomi is merely enjoying a leisurely fishing expedition in this town.
“But, we might have a lead.”
“What is it?”
“He’s in this town.”
“…You mean Natsuki Yura?”
“Yes. The boy who, despite being close to Yuto Miyahara, was unaffected by him, traveled to another world, and returned with tremendous power. Just as we are interested, they will be too.”
“I won’t allow him to be used.”
“It’s not about using him. Throughout history, heroes have faced trials.”
Lucifer glared at Tsukuyomi.
“What if Natsuki Yura can’t overcome those trials?”
“Then, as my responsibility, I shall pay with my life.”
“In that case, I’d be pleased to do the killing.”
“I look forward to it, Lucifer—no, Pureheart-kun.”
“Don’t just use my name, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto.”
“Hahaha.”
With a smile, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto watched as Lucifer clicked his tongue and turned to walk away.
Though he had much on his mind, he knew that demons speaking up in the affairs of gods would change nothing, he deemed further conversation futile.
“Lucifer-dono.”
“What?”
“I love this country, this town, and its people. That includes both Natsuki Yura and Yuto Miyahara.”
“And?”
“I have expectations for Natsuki Yura. I believe he can achieve something we cannot.”
“Hmph. Just keep watching then. He’s a favorite of Satan-sama. Should anything happen, it would be dreadful.”
“I will bear that in mind.”
Tsukuyomi then turned and started walking away, as Lucifer, unchanged from when he arrived, resumed his path toward the Yura household.
Just outside the range of their perception, a presence was watching. A girl, barely in her mid-teens, was sitting atop a building.
“Ahahahahaha! I wonder if my toy has been broken? Will it break? Or maybe—?”
The girl was a deity.
Yet, she had no name known among the gods.
She wasn’t mentioned in any mythology, nor was she a hero who had accomplished great deeds.
Nor was she a resident of the divine realm.
This girl was a new god born of the modern era.
She laughed, a sound filled with enjoyment.
Her aim was to thoroughly crush the old gods, drive them out, and create a new mythology.
To achieve this, she gathered allies and pawns, making every day a joy.
The girl was the goddess of love, the very one who had bestowed the power of a hero upon Yuto Miyahara in his childhood.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
This chapter was packed with mysteries for the future.
Just to clarify one thing: Yuto Miyahara won’t play a significant role, just to let you know.
In the upcoming chapters, expect lively days and the hint of impending battles.

The plot is just like American Gods.
Greek, the power struggle between old gods(titans) and the Olympus gods and goddess headed by Zeus.
