The truth was, despite having introduced himself clearly, Natsuki still didn’t get it. He kept thinking, ‘His regular name is the same as his deity name?’

Pondering, Natsuki made Tsukuyomi sigh and continue explaining.

“I am Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, deified as the moon by Izanagi-no-Mikoto. My sister is Amaterasu Omikami, and my brother is Susanoo-no-Mikoto.”

“Got it now?”

“It’s more like, rather than being minor, your brother and sister stand out unnecessarily, you know?”

Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is counted among the ‘Three Precious Children’, along with Amaterasu Omikami, the sun goddess, and Susanoo-no-Mikoto, the god of the sea. 

Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto governs the night as the moon deity. While a big name in their own right, it took a moment to remember due to the overshadowing presence of Amaterasu Omikami and Susanoo-no-Mikoto. 

A recent encounter with Satan and Lucifer didn’t help either.

“Why are you doing a teacher’s job in such a countryside?”

“Even gods want to be teachers sometimes.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes, it is.”

Feeling awkward for not remembering Tsukuyomi’s name sooner, Natsuki coughed to change the subject.

“Thank you for earlier. I’ve had enough of the other world.”

“No, it’s nothing. My brother caused you trouble, so it’s the least I could do.”

“Your brother, Susanoo-no-Mikoto, right? I didn’t know him personally.”

Natsuki suddenly worried if he had failed to recognize him, like with Tsukuyomi.

Sensing Natsuki’s concerns, Tsukuyomi gave a wry smile and assured, “You shouldn’t have met directly before.”

This brought a slight relief.

“Actually, the current head of the ‘Institute’ is Susanoo-no-Mikoto.”

“Eh?”

“Normally, excessive interference with humans is forbidden, but my foolish brother got flattered into becoming the head of the ‘Institute’.”

“Huh? But, I don’t remember being troubled by him?”

“It’s Yuto Miyahara. He possesses strong latent abilities and was enchanting others, albeit in a limited way, with the power leaking from him. We tried to prevent it from affecting the school, but I couldn’t nullify everything because I was concealing my powers. I’m sorry.”

“Is that so? No worries, whatever happens, happens.”

“No, I did command him to seal his powers, but my foolish brother prioritizes combat abilities. In his words, ‘Leave those bored by such trivial powers and those ensnared by them alone.’ That must have caused you some trouble. I sincerely apologize.”

(That sounds just like something Susanoo-no-Mikoto would say!)

However, the issue had been resolved when he sealed Yuto’s power.

What remains to be seen is whether Yuto will face any repercussions for his actions or if he will manage to remain unaffected. That’s up to him.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help, as I only interact with people within the scope of being a teacher.”

“No, you don’t need to apologize anymore. But, there’s just one thing I want to ask.”

“What is it?”

“Is Asuka Matsushima like that because of Yuto’s influence, or has she always been that way?”

“Unfortunately, she has always been that way.”

“Uwaa.”

Seeing Natsuki’s indescribable expression, Tsukuyomi chuckled wryly. It’s fine to keep a distance from humans as a deity, but there’s one thing that puzzled him.

“Ah, can I ask one more thing?”

“Of course.”

“Then, why did you decide to help me this time?”

“Hahaha. What a funny thing to say, Natsuki-kun. You’re already deeply involved with this side, aren’t you?”

“…I knew that, but hearing a god say it kind of makes me feel down.”

Starting from another world, meeting Lucifer, Grey, Lucifer again, and Satan, and now Tsukuyomi, he’s probably more deeply involved than any psychic.

“I’m sorry to have disturbed you on your day off. I’ll be leaving now. Please take it easy over the weekend.”
