Chapter 29: A Slight Change in my Fiancée

“I didn’t expect that Isshiki-kun and Nanasegawa-san wereー”
That was the first thing the Angel of Affection and Elegance in the seat next to me said when I arrived at school the next morning.
After all, Shiori had said something which revealed our relationship, so I had to tell Shijo the details about it.
I thought I told her the details, but the angel with the expressive face was reacting to it with “Kya―” or “Uwa―” as if she hadn’t even heard half the story――or even less than half of it, making me wonder if she really understood the story or not.
“Shijo. Don’t say too much about it at school――”
As I put my bag down on my seat, Shijo gave me a mischievous, adorable look as she said while I made a confused face.
She brought her fingers to her mouth and said,
“It’s okay. I’m known for how tight-lipped I am.”
She makes a gesture of zipping her mouth as she says it.
This is no good. She’s cute and all, but I can’t trust her at all. It seems that the saying ‘cute = trustworthy’ isn’t true at all.
“――What is it, Kojiro? Did you by any chance expose yourself to Sumire?”
He must have heard our conversation just now. Touma, who was sitting behind Shijo whilst playing with his phone, joined the conversation.
“Expose, is it… What is it… The flow is …”
I scratch my head after saying such vague words, Touma raises his glasses quickly and says.
“I’ve been trying to keep my mouth shut about this interesting story for quite a while now.”
He said with a suggestive smile on his face.
Shijo reacted to it and turned around.
“Ah, so you knew about it, Touma.”
“Of course.”
Touma raises his glasses with a smug face. It’s unclear why he’s acting so smug about it though.
“These two skipped school yesterday and went on a date.”
Shijo pointed at me and said with a grin, “I thought so.” Touma says, with his glasses shining brightly.
“Hey! Shijo! This…! Where’s the tight-lipped part of you supposed to be!?”
Shijo, who had already failed being a tight-lipped person, said with a face that didn’t look guilty at all.
“Isn’t it okay if Touma knows about it? ――Well.”
“Tee-hee~,” she said, sticking out her tongue cutely. The Angel of Affection and Elegance has a beautiful tongue and her appearance looks very picturesque.
However, now I’m convinced. This angel’s mouth is flaky. Very flaky. She’s not the Angel of Affection and Elegance anymore, but the Angel of Talkativeness instead.
“No, no! It’s no good! The only way to be a tight-lipped person is to never bring it up in the first place!”
When I pointed this out, Shijo said, “I see!” with her hands put together cutely and a look that seemed like she understood what I said.
“Then, let’s change it to me being a person who’s『tight-lipped to strangers』.”
“Those settings are completely messed up!”
She smiled adorably at my tsukkomi and said, “Ahaha―. I’m sorry,” Shijo apologized.
With such a cute smile on her face, I had no choice but to forgive her for it.
I guess that’s just the way it is with the Angel of Affection and Elegance.
“Well, calm down, Kojiro. Look behind you.”
Touma raised his glasses, and in response to his comment I said, “Behind me?” I turned around with a questioning look.
Right behind me was the Cool-headed and Peerless angel, wearing her headphones and quietly reading her book with a book cover, sitting in her usual position.
When her eyes met mine, she gently closed the book, took off her headphones, put them around her neck, and asked, “What?”.
“No―. You’re the same as always huh…”
“It’s a weekday morning. This is nothing out of the ordinary. Do you want me to change?”
“No, no, I haven’t asked for you to change… It’s just that two people have found out about our relationship and they’re messing with me on a weekday morning right now.”
I’m sure I said something that is very troubling to us, but Shiori says with an expression that seems to look somewhat refreshing in its blankness.
“It’s a reward for Kojiro. That’s good for you.”
“I’m not an M!”
Shiori didn’t react to the tsukkomi that came out of my mouth.
“――Well, you’re the one who said it in the first place! You’re the one who should get tormented instead.”
“I’m not an M.”
“Me neither!”
The two beautiful people next to us looked at us like they were parents watching over their kindergarteners playing together in the sandbox.
“I know you say you’re hiding it, but――”
“I didn’t know that you could flirt in the classroom so openly…”
“Right?” Their voices synchronized in a friendly manner.
“We’re not flirting!”
I’m not sure what’s so lovey-dovey about this. I think the two of you look much more flirtatious than we do.
Even Shiori seemed to be a little flustered at being called that.
With a slightly embarrassed face, she picked up the book again and turned her gaze toward it, saying, “W-We’re not flirting.”
“Nanasegawa-san looks so cool denying it.
“So Kojiro’s the one you mess with.”
――Eh?
Did it look like a cool denial from Shiori to you two?
To me, it looked like she was pretty upset about it――.
