I had one question on the translation – I thought “festering” was a bit of an awkward word choice for kusareen (sorry can’t paste the kanji in here). Maybe “lingering” would be better here (i.e. it better captures the sense that the relationship in ongoing and you just cannot get away from the person even if you know you should). Ultimately, though, it is one of those concepts that does not seem to have a good parallel in English.
