Chapter 19: The Avenger Reven Goes Goblin Hunting

“Agh, I desperately want to kill some goblins.”

Reven was killing time on a bench.

When Roaks asked him this, he replied:

“That Lucky guy—all I learned was that he was hired by Bow, and the one who hired him was just a subordinate.”

After converting Lucky into a Japanese drum, Reven had sold him to some tool shop nearby.

At that time, Reven recommended it to the shopkeeper saying, “It makes great sounds when you hit it~,” and when he actually struck the drum, the face deformed as if screaming “Full beating don!”

As expected, he probably couldn’t think of a punchline. It ended with the usual gorilla-like monsters smashing the drum to pieces.

Saying this, Reven punched a nearby gorilla-like monster, then tied up Roaks with rope.

At Flam’s words, Reven stopped.

“Come on, let’s go. I’m hoping for office work, but I guess this kind of thing is fine once in a while.”

Saying this, Lumie grabbed the rope-bound Roaks and dragged him along while following Flam.

However, what’s noteworthy is their cunning—they’re extremely dangerous monsters that attack in groups or perform surprise attacks.

They steal livestock and lumber from villages and kidnap people, so the Adventurer’s Guild frequently receives extermination requests.

Goblins prefer to live in dim and filthy environments, where they attack livestock and humans for food.

On this day, an adventurer had entered to exterminate the goblins.

“Hya!!”

A young warrior wielding a longsword was challenging the goblins alone.

He was trying to rescue the people kidnapped from the village.

“Please stop!! If you keep fighting you’ll die!!”

His companion, a female mage, had already exhausted her magical power and could only cry behind him.

The goblins wore sleazy smiles as they entertained themselves with the young swordsman’s battle, but the moment one goblin was slashed, another caught him off guard from his blind spot.

Just as the poisoned knife was about to stab the swordsman.

Reven came from above, spinning like a drill while gripping a goblin’s leg.

“What’s with this old guy who looks like a walking lump of self-assertion!?”

Seeing Reven’s bizarrely grotesque appearance, the young swordsman couldn’t help but retort despite being in a pinch.

Reven threw the goblin corpse killed by the screwdriver toward the female mage, then grabbed another goblin.

Reven returned by making a hole in the ceiling at a different spot than before.

Though the goblins had lost several members to the sudden intruder, they quickly regrouped.

While the young swordsman stood dumbfounded, the goblins moved toward the female mage.

“Damn! That weird old man distracted me!”

The young swordsman tried to rescue the female mage, but he wouldn’t make it in time.

The goblins tried to tear off the female mage’s clothes.

However, that didn’t happen.

From the hole Reven had made, a bunch of gorilla-like monsters now came tumbling down.

“Whoooooooooa!! Now weird things are coming! What are these extremely unpleasant monsters!?”

The gorilla-like monsters fell to the ground like abandoned toys, then stood up, defying the laws of physics.

“GRYAAAAAAAAA (What the hell are these monsters!?)”

“GRYOOOOOOO (For monsters, their design is way too half-assed!!)”

When the gorilla-like monsters saw the goblins, they instantly captured them while maintaining indescribable expressions.

“Uho ho ho ho ho ho ho!! Uho uho uho uho uho hoooo!!”

“GYAAAAAAAAAA (Gyaaaaaaaaaah)”

Then, as if performing some dubious ritual, they threw all the goblins into a fire.

“Whoooooooooa!! These weird monsters are stroooong!!”

As the young swordsman stood shocked, one of the gorilla-like monsters approached them.

“Whoa, it’s coming.”

“Wh-what could it be…!”

As the two stood shocked, a gorilla-like monster that felt a fanservice scene was necessary stripped off clothes.

Of another gorilla-like monster.

“Uho ho… gahk!”

The stripped gorilla-like monster vomited blood and became completely naked.

In other words, bones.

“It became just bones!!”

“What is this monster!?”

However, betraying those words, the gorilla-like monster attacked with an axe.

Despite hearing their screams, the gorilla-like monster’s excitement only increased.

At this point, the only way to suppress this excitement would be to make the two into companions of the gorilla-like monsters.

But then, a savior (?) arrived.

This time, Reven appeared again, spinning like a drill while performing wrestling moves on a man who thought his Dutch wife was real.

“Whoooooooooa!! Another weird one came!!”

Reven embedded the man and Dutch wife into the ground, then looked at the gorilla-like monsters.

“What are you doing!! You bastard!!”

“Ugaho!!”

With Reven’s single strike, the gorilla-like monster was defeated.

Thus, the two were saved.

However, further chaos awaited them after this.
