I'm a Middle-Aged Man with No Degree or Job History Who Got Kicked Out of the Hero's Party. After I Started Crushing Them with My Power of Revenge, They Begged Me to Come Back, but There's No Way in Hell I'm Going Back - Chapter 20
Chapter 20: The Avenger Reven Meets the Goblin King
Reven hurled the gorilla-like monster aside and turned his gaze to the two adventurers.
“Who the hell are you guys?”
The young swordsman grimaced at the question but answered nonetheless.
“I’m—”
“Like I give a damn about you!!”
WHAM!!
For some reason, the young swordsman got punched by Reven.
“Kyaaaaaaah!!”
“And you’re too damn loud too!!”
He grabbed the female mage and threw her as well.
Apparently, punching a girl was ethically off-limits for him, at least.
“Shut up! Shut up! Shut uuuuup!! I’m healthier than you thiiiiiink!!”
“W-Wait a second! Who the hell are you?!”
When the young swordsman shouted at the rampaging Reven, he stopped dead in his tracks.
“Heh, I am…”
At that moment, an announcement echoed throughout the cave.
“Ding-dong-ding-dong! We have a lost person announcement. If anyone has seen 38-year-old Reven Avengeyan-kun, a muscular man over 2 meters tall, please note that Flam-sama, who is traveling with him, is looking for him. If you have any information, please contact the Lost and Found Center located within the Goblin Labyrinth. Ding-dong-ding-dong~”
At those words, Reven suddenly started crying.
“Sniff… I’m… I’m lost…”
“How old are you…”
But while they were doing this, goblins began arriving one after another, apparently attracted by the death smell of their comrades.
“GYARRRU (Hey, they’re being killed)!“
Goblins had almost no sense of camaraderie.
If anything, they only felt mockery toward those defeated by humans.
However, having their territory ravaged this much seemed genuinely infuriating.
“GYAAAAAAAA!!”
The goblins all attacked at once.
In that instant, the eyes of a man who desperately wanted to kill goblins gleamed.
“Opening!!”
Reven grabbed the young swordsman’s leg.
“Huh? What? What?!”
“Take this, you goblins!! Baakaho Two-Sword Style Cooperation Ultimate Technique: ‘Whirlwind of Youth’!!”
With that declaration, Reven grabbed the young swordsman’s leg and swung him around like a weapon.
“GYAAAAAAAA!!”
The goblins were knocked down one after another by the ferocious attack.
“Gyaaaaaaah!!”
The young swordsman was pretty pitiful too, by the way.
“H-Hey! What the hell are you doin—”
The female mage tried to complain to Reven, but he snatched her staff away.
“Hmm, well, not bad I guess.”
Reven gripped the staff and switched to his usual two-sword style.
“Huh… Wait just a minute…”
This staff was something the young swordsman had scraped together his meager funds to buy for her half a year ago.
It was a rare item that didn’t circulate much on the market, and despite the expensive price of twenty gold coins, he’d bought it for her.
She’d used it carefully, never letting it leave her side.
She still remembered the words he’d said to her back then.
“Someday I’ll buy you something even better.”
And now this pervert was…
“Yeaaaah!! I’ve powered uuuup!! Take this, you damn goblins!! Baakaho Two-Sword Style Cooperation Ultimate Technique Mk. II: ‘Whirlwind of Love’!!”
He violently used her precious companion as a bludgeoning weapon alongside her staff.
At this rate, the staff would definitely break.
“S-Stop it! Give it back! Give it back! Return my staff!!”
She cried and rushed toward Reven.
“Hmm~ Can’t hear you~. Hah, good grief. This makes it look like I’m bullying the weak. I know, I should explain things properly. Everyone!! I’m not bullying anyone here!! They’re cooperating with me properly!!”
Reven shouted loud enough for everyone around to hear.
“Uhoho (What’s this old man talking about?)“
“Anyone can see you’re bullying them!! You’re a heartless, tearless piece of trash!! J-Just give it back!!”
Reven sighed at the sobbing female mage.
“That’s why I’m telling you it’s different. There’s no way an avenger like me would do something as low as bullying. Everyooooone!!”
Saying that, Reven continued massacring the goblins with his cooperation (forced) ultimate technique while loudly explaining to everyone around him.
~◇Meanwhile, At That Time◆~
Due to Reven suddenly diving into the goblin nest while spinning like a drill, Roaks, Flam, and Lumie ended up acting separately.
They were following the trail of destruction, heading deeper inside to search for Reven.
Without the usual pervert «Reven», it was remarkably quiet.
“This from the moment we entered… Where the hell did that old man go?”
Roaks grumbled to Flam as they advanced through the ravaged goblin nest.
“I don’t know… According to what we heard in the village, goblins have been making this area their base for the past few days, attacking people and livestock.”
“So they put out a request to adventurers. But I heard there were other adventurers who went in first.”
“Yeah, apparently a pair. A boy and a girl.”
“Huh.”
Roaks made a slightly dubious face at those words.
“Roaks, you’re thinking those two are dating, aren’t you?”
Roaks was slightly startled by Lumie’s words.
“Lumie-chan, isn’t it a bit too simplistic to assume they’re dating just because they’re traveling together?”
“Why?”
Flam responded to Lumie’s question.
“What do you mean ‘why’… Male-female pair parties aren’t particularly rare among adventurers.”
“Really? What do you think, Roaks?”
At those words, Roaks answered unpleasantly.
“Don’t connect everything to romance. We’re risking our lives here, you know? We don’t have time to be making girlfriends.”
“Hmm, so you’ve never even been on a date?”
“Why are we even talking about this?!”
The argument was escalating slightly, but Flam intervened.
“Now, now, more importantly, let’s hurry and search for Reven-san. Let’s catch up with the adventurers who went in first and request their cooperation!”
The moment Flam said that, they heard some commotion.
“What’s that?”
“I have a bad feeling…”
Roaks’s premonition was correct.
“I absolutely did not bully anyone and make them cryyyyyy!!”
Reven was dominating the goblins while wielding a young male swordsman and a fine staff.
“Nooooo, stop it! Don’t treat that person roughly instead of me!!”
The female mage was desperately clinging to Reven, trying to stop him.
“GYAAAAAAAA!!”
“Ora ora ora!! And theeeeen!!”
Reven snapped the staff in half.
“Oops!! My hand sliiiiipped!!”
He threw both the young swordsman and the staff at the female mage.
“Ahh~ that’s better.”
After rampaging to his heart’s content, Reven looked startled at the two twitching and convulsing figures.
“What happened?! Are you okay?! Who did this to you?!”
The two answered clearly while trembling and on the verge of death.
“Y-You…”
“!!? Destroy the evidence!!”
Reven immediately attacked them both.
“Whew~ that’s better.”
Reven was satisfied with having massacred the goblins.
However, he noticed there were witnesses nearby.
“Oh, you guys made it.”
Reven said with a cool expression, and Roaks took action.
“What the hell are you doiiiiing?!”
“Gyaaaah!!”
Roaks delivered a powerful lariat to Reven.
“A-Are you two okay?!”
“I’ll cast healing magic on you right now.”
While Flam and the others were saying that to the two who were on the verge of death, Roaks’s momentum from the lariat carried him into a door, which opened.
Beyond it was the room where the Goblin Lord resided.
“GYARRRU (What’s this)?“
When Reven saw the Goblin Lord, his eyes gleamed.
“Hoh, so you’re the boss here. I’ll get proper revenge here and now for those two who were brutally done in by you.”
Saying that, Reven drew his two swords against the bewildered Goblin Lord.
By the way, the one who beat those two to a pulp was him.
