ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
At any rate, now that Riona had finally woken up, we could at last have the long-awaited dinner. The four of us sat down at the dining table and began eating.
“Come to think of it, Onii-chan, you took a while to come to the dining room. Did you stop somewhere along the way?”
“Ah, well, that’s because…”
I was about to explain that I’d been delayed because I had a hard time waking her up, but before I could, Reona and Riona started saying something outrageous.
“Ryouya came at me so intensely, and I had to deal with his intensity first, so that’s why we were late.”
“Yeah, yeah, and even though I was right there, he didn’t care at all. I was honestly shocked.”
“Eh!?”
“What the hell are you two talking about!?”
Both Mio and I were completely blindsided, and we blurted out in weird voices. No, seriously, I had ended up in a position where I was hovering over Riona earlier, but that was totally an accident, and it was all Reona’s fault in the first place.
“…I mean, I can’t say I don’t understand the feeling of wanting to lay hands on a beautiful girl like Riona-san, but I really don’t want to become an aunt at this age, so please be careful.”
“Hey, I didn’t lay a hand on her!”
“Even though we just passionately craved for each other like that… Are you seriously trying to pretend none of it ever happened, Ryouya?”
“Wow~ So that’s the kind of guy you are, Ryouya-kun.”
“Please, I’m begging you, no more…”
After being teased endlessly by the three of them, my mental life points had dropped to zero. I figured even Mio didn’t really believe I had done anything to Riona.
But since I knew that after the birthday party the other day, she’d been secretly referring to Reona and Riona as “Onee-chan” and “sister-in-law” behind their backs, I was honestly kind of scared. I really didn’t want this topic to continue any further, so I changed the subject.
“Still, I didn’t expect Reona to be good at cooking.”
“Do I really look like I’d be that bad at cooking or housework?”
“Well, to be honest, yeah.”
“It’s true that a lot of people think I’d be better at this kind of stuff compared to Onee-chan.”
It might be rude to think this way, but considering Riona was the serious, straight-laced type and Reona was the airhead type, I just assumed she’d be terrible at housework or cooking. So the fact that Reona was actually good at that kind of thing, and that Riona was the one who wasn’t, was honestly a big surprise. In fact, I doubted I would’ve believed it until I saw it with my own eyes. I was finally convinced that Reona was really good at housework and cooking.
“I see. Then I’ll just have to show off how domestic I can be a little more.”
“I already get it. Like, more than enough. You don’t need to prove anything.”
When I said that, Reona started grinning.
“Eh? I never said I was trying to appeal to Ryouya-kun, though.”
“Wait. Ryouya, did you think she was talking about you?”
“Onii-chan, now you’re just being a little too self-absorbed.”
My life points, which had already hit zero, now went into the negatives from the added emotional damage. I just wanted them to leave me alone. Later, after we finished dinner, I started walking Reona and Riona back to their house.
They joked about wanting to stay over, but there was no way I could let two girls sleep over at a guy’s place and send them home in the morning. I firmly refused—there was no way I could do that to their parents.
“Pretty soon, we’ll start having homeroom meetings about the school trip. It’s gonna be fun!”
“Oh, by the way, for the free activity time, I’ll leave all the planning to you and Riona. Just choose to go to wherever you like.”
“Ryouya, is there no place you want to go?”
“Not really. Honestly, the only places I know in Kyoto are the really famous tourist spots.”
And apparently, we were already scheduled to visit most of those outside of the free activity time, so by that point, I had no particular places I wanted to go anymore.
“I see. In that case, Riona and I will pick some places out.”
“We’ll choose places we think Ryouya will enjoy.”
“Yeah, I’m counting on you.”
And so, my first day back after summer break—which had been exhausting in more ways than one—finally came to an end.

Chapter 67: For Now, I’ll Just Hold Onto This Until Ryouya Reflects on What He Has Done
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
A week had passed since summer break ended, and while I had finally shaken off the post-vacation haze, that didn’t change the fact that going to school still sucked. As the fifth period finally ended and I stretched in my seat, Reona spoke up.
“Ryouya-kun, you still look as sluggish as ever.”
“Well, that’s just the kind of guy I am.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“Then why point it out?”
“Hmm, I guess I was just bored?”
Even though Reona was messing with me, none of our classmates seemed to care. They had gotten so used to her bothering me all the time that it had become part of the daily scenery.
Before summer break, there had been some classmates who muttered behind my back, but ever since then, I hadn’t heard a thing. Reona’s pressure must’ve really done the trick. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were still people who secretly didn’t like me, but as long as it didn’t affect me directly, I couldn’t care less about it.
“Anyway, shouldn’t we get moving? Riona should be waiting for us.”
“Yeah, you’re right.”
The sixth period was a homeroom about our school trip, so we had to change classrooms. The homeroom was divided by destinations: Hokkaido, Okinawa, and Kyoto, so the classmates leaving the classroom all headed in different directions.
The Hokkaido and Okinawa groups were large and used multipurpose rooms and other big spaces, but the Kyoto group was smaller, so they were using a social studies classroom that wasn’t much different in size from our regular ones. We left the classroom and walked a bit until we reached the social studies room. But the moment we stepped inside, multiple people started talking to Reona.
“Wait, weren’t you in the Hokkaido group, Reona?”
“I actually begged the teacher to switch me.”
“Whoa, you can do that?”
“You could’ve at least told us.”
Before I knew it, a crowd had gathered around Reona. As expected from a cheerful extrovert with friends all over school. Reona’s communication skills were off the charts. There was another group forming nearby, and when I glanced over, Riona was at the center of that one.
Reona and Riona really were insanely popular. Needless to say, I had no friends, so no one even thought about talking to me. I found an empty seat and sat down. Since there was still time before homeroom started, I opened up a mobile game. At first, I was going to put my head down and nap, but after what had happened last time, I decided against it.
“….Oh right, the Moon Viewing Gacha starts today.”
The featured SSRs in the Moon Viewing Gacha were ten different bunny girl costumes for popular female characters—definitely something I wanted to get my hands on. I immediately used the saved-up gems to do a ten-pull. Since it was the first round, I wasn’t expecting much, but on the final pull, I got the guaranteed SSR animation.
“…No way, getting one this early? That’s insanely lucky.”
Excited to see which character I had gotten, I stared at the screen—but suddenly a hand reached out and snatched my phone. When I looked up, I saw Reona with a dark smile and Riona with her usual expressionless face, holding my phone. No—on closer inspection, Riona was also radiating some kind of dark aura.
“Huh… So Ryouya-kun was off doing this while leaving us alone.”
“Looks like we’ll have to punish him for this.”
“No, no! I just thought it’d be rude to interrupt your socializing session, so I was keeping to myself to not disturb you two!”
I hadn’t even seen the gacha result before they confiscated my phone, and while I was dying to know what I pulled, I figured angering the two of them any further would be a bad idea, so I hurried to defend myself.
“We’ll take our time deciding your punishment. Please look forward to it.”
“For now, I’ll just hold onto this until Ryouya reflects on what he has done.”
“Hey, seriously!?”
When Riona showed me my phone, the screen displayed the words “Trade Completed.” Apparently, the SSR character I’d been lucky enough to pull had already been confiscated and traded away by Riona. I never imagined the rare trade feature, which was a rare feature in social games, would be abused in such a way.
Wait a second… So Riona plays this game too!?
