“Onee-chan, you’re totally grinning from ear to ear.”
“You’re one to talk, Riona. You look happier than usual too.”
After seeing off Ryouya-kun and Mio-chan, I was cleaning up the dining room with Riona. Needless to say, I was in a really good mood. Of course I was. Our plan to make Ryouya-kun ours was progressing smoothly. Thanks to the time Riona and I spent slowly numbing Ryouya-kun’s senses, he had recently started going along with all kinds of our outrageous requests.
Because of that, he even put pair rings on our left ring fingers in front of Papa, Mama, and Mio-chan. There was no way the old Ryouya-kun would have gone that far.
By the way, the outer encirclement was also proceeding according to plan. We had already cleared the route with Ryouya-kun’s Papa, Mama, Mio-chan, and Grandma. As for our own Papa and Mama, I believe today’s birthday party made them realize how we felt about him.
Mama was already completely on our side, so she wasn’t a problem. Papa might have a few things to say, but honestly, he was pretty easy to deal with, so whatever he did to Ryouya-kun wouldn’t matter much in the long run.
“But still, Ryouya-kun didn’t confess to us in the end, huh.”
“A guy like Ryouya, who has such low self-esteem, is never going to confess to us in the first place.”
“If it were a normal guy, he would’ve confessed a long time ago.”
“Ryouya isn’t normal.”
Just as we expected, nothing came from Ryouya-kun’s side. We already went that far, and he still didn’t take it as a sign that we liked him enough to confess. Still, that didn’t matter since we had predicted that outcome in advance. After all, if he wouldn’t confess to us, then we just had to confess to him.
Besides, the whole notion that confessions had to come from the guy’s side was horribly outdated in this time and age. The outer defenses were already sealed. All that was left was to wait for the right time and carry our plan to its end.
By the way, the “when,” “where,” and “how” of confessing to Ryouya-kun had already been fully decided between us. We planned to create a situation where saying no wouldn’t even be an option and then confess to him. In that way, he wouldn’t be able to turn us down. He wouldn’t be able to come up with flimsy excuses like misunderstanding our words or misheard our words either. A perfect situation for the confession was coming up soon, and that moment would be the deciding moment of our grand plan.
“Ryouya-kun is finally going to be ours.”
“Yeah. No matter what happens, we’re never letting anyone else have him.”
We still had to be patient just a little while longer, but once we made it past that, we’d be able to make Ryouya-kun ours. I was already dying with anticipation for that moment to arrive.
“Just wait for us, Ryouya-kun.”
“We’ll never let you go for the rest of our lives.”
It was only a little longer now until Ryouya-kun would be ours.

Chapter 58: Okay, See You Tomorrow Then
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
The long summer vacation had finally come to its last day, and school would resume at last tomorrow. During the day, I had studied for the assessment test with Reona and Riona, and now, at night, I was watching TV in the living room.
That feeling of dread that set in on Sunday evenings was apparently called “Blue Monday Syndrome” or something like that, and I was feeling exactly that way.
No. This was even worse than a typical Sunday, since I had taken nearly four weeks off and there was an assessment test tomorrow. I figured I’d probably shake off the summer vacation daze after about a week, but the first few days were definitely going to be tough.
“Ugh…. I wish a typhoon would hit us straight on tomorrow and extend summer vacation. Or maybe we could have an out-of-season flu outbreak and get the class shut down.”
“You really look gloomy, Onii-chan. You’re dragging me down with you just looking at your face,”
Mio, who had apparently just gotten out of the bath, overheard my muttering and spoke to me with an exasperated expression on her face.
“Then let me ask you this, Mio. Are you not feeling down about it? That summer break is nearing its end?”
“Of course I am, a little. But I also get to see my friends when I go to school.”
“…Yeah, that’s a concept a loner like me just can’t understand.”
Mio was so cute, it was hard to believe she was my little sister. Naturally, she had friends. Which meant she and I could never truly relate to each other.
“You have Reona-san and Riona-san, so you can’t really call yourself a loner anymore.”
“They’ll get tired of me eventually and I’ll go back to being one.”
“I really can’t imagine Reona-san or Riona-san ever getting tired of you, though.”
Mio murmured that after hearing what I said. Honestly, I couldn’t imagine it either, but I kept that to myself. By the way, because of the whole birthday party incident, Mio had ended up with some serious misunderstandings, but I had taken the time to properly explain everything to her.
Whether she believed me or not was another story. As for Reona and Riona’s parents, unfortunately I couldn’t find a way to clear up the misunderstanding with them, so I just gave up on it for the time being. That said, if we ever meet again, I planned to explain, but who knew when that would be.
“Speaking of which, second-years get to go on the school trip not long after summer vacation ends, right?”
“Yeah, we’ve got the school trip in September, and then the school festival in October. So basically, a packed schedule full of annoying events.”
“That’s exactly why you have to enjoy those events, Onii-chan. Otherwise, you’d be wasting your youth.”
“Yeah, I’ll try to.”
For a loner like me, the school trip and the school festival were painful events, so I highly doubtedI’d enjoy them. Still, I said that for now to avoid worrying Mio. After that, I brushed my teeth and went back to my room to start getting ready for tomorrow.
Most of the summer homework was due tomorrow, so I had to make sure to pack it in my backpack. It would be ridiculous to forget it after Riona helped me finish it all. Getting docked points on my record for that would be the worst.
“This summer vacation really was something else.”
Starting with Tokyo Aqualand on the first day, then the open campus at Okayama University, the fireworks show in Kisarazu, and the birthday party… Even just a quick look back revealed how jam-packed it had been.
Until last year, I had basically spent the summer holed up at home, so this was a huge change. I ended up having a summer vacation like one of those normies I usually couldn’t stand and Reona and Riona had been involved in every single one of those events. Pretty much all of my summer memories this year were with them, with Mio popping up here and there.
As I was thinking about that, I finished getting ready for tomorrow and sat down on my bed. During the summer vacation, I had gotten used to sleeping in, but starting tomorrow, I’d have to wake up early again. Just the thought made me feel very miserable.
I couldn’t afford to oversleep and miss the assessment test, so I decided to set multiple alarms. While I was messing with my phone, someone called me. The screen showed “Reona Tsurugi.”
“…Hello?”
“Ryouya-kun, long time no see. How are you holding up?”
“School starts tomorrow. How do you think I feel?”
“Thought so. That’s exactly what I expected you to say, Ryouya-kun.”
“That’s so typical of Ryouya.”
I heard not just Reona’s voice, but Riona’s too. They must have put me on speaker.
“Wait, why are you suddenly calling me out of the blue anyway?”
“Because we felt like talking to you.”
“Do we really need a reason to call Ryouya-kun in the first place?”
“Well, no, not really…”
People like me didn’t call anyone unless we had a reason, but outgoing types like Reona and Riona probably called others all the time just because.
“Anyway. We’ll come pick you up tomorrow, so wait for us.”
“If you try to go without us, we won’t forgive you.”
“Got it.”
Honestly, there was a good chance they’d show up in my room while I was still asleep, so there was no way I’d be the one leaving without them. If anything, I’d be the one getting left behind.
“Okay, see you tomorrow then.”
“Yeah, go easy on me.”
“I’ll consider it.”
I said that, hoping to avoid getting smothered at school again, but judging from Riona’s reply, I wasn’t feeling very optimistic. After hanging up, I lay back on the bed. I had a lot of worries and uncertainties about the new semester starting tomorrow, but there wasn’t much I could do about it either. It would be best to just go to sleep and deal with it tomorrow. With that somewhat carefree mindset, I drifted off to sleep.
Back then, I still had no idea about Reona and Riona’s plans.

I’m a little sad that the twins aren’t as yandere in the rewrite as in the original, you barely get to see just glimpses of it here. But I do like how the rewrite does the dialogue between the twins and Ryouya a lot better. There’s a lot more banter and gives off a lot better chemistry between them while adding more character and personality.
I just wished they toned down his denseness, like they say they wanna make it obvious so he has no recourse but you’d think the baths and the nakedness and all that multiple times would be more extreme to ignore.
