- I'm just strong enough to survive because I'm a Normal Healer.
- 04: Receiving the Reward and Hunting with the Lord.
The reward given to me was a bag filled with a 100 silver coins and 10 gold coins.
“T-this is too much for me.” I say as I know that with just this much, a single man can live an entire year alone without worrying for his coin. This much was really an absurd amount.
“This is only necessary in regards to your past contribution and your future contributions to the family. If you don’t have a place to put this into, I suggest you go and deposit this in the guild’s bank.” said Reginold as he had this stoic expression on him.
“I’m sorry, but I’ve never held this much coin in my life before…its just overwhelming.” I said as I took another peak at the bag.
“Hmm, usually when handling with a group of Grizzled Gorilla’s, we would hire adventurers who would ask for more than just your current amount, yet with you, we were able to save so much with your experience as a hunter. I believe that this amount is only right for you.” said Reginold.
“I see…well, I’ll take this then.” I said as put the bag of coins into my pocket.
“Also, Sir Loyd has informed me that as of now, I will be the one who will assign you on the current jobs. So I hope we will work together on this with no issues on mind.” said Reginold as he gestured for a handshake.
“I understand, I hope to work well with you too.” I said as I took his gesture in kind.
As I left the mansion, I made my way to the town.
Seeing as how I didn’t have a place to put this coins, I had to take Reginold’s advice and put them on the Guild’s bank.

I shook his hand…
Sir Loyd was right, that boy is more of a monster than I could have imagined.
[Reginold – Head Butler of the Starfall Family and an A-ranked adventurer.]
“Hmm, to think that the boy has grown so much since the last time he came here with Young Miss Faye…I think these upcoming days wont be as dull as I could have imagined.” said Reginold as he stared at Abel leaving the mansion with a smirk on his face.

As I made it to the Guild, I made my way to the counter and quickly made a transaction to make an account on my name.
Here in this world, Adventurers were very common to handle certain issues regarding problems against monsters and demons.
With them being scattered all over each main town and city, you can easily bet that even if you travelled from country to country, you can meet an Adventure Guild just sitting by the corner, waiting for you to take action on its quest.
Being an Adventurer is a really popular occupation in this world. Starting at a young age of 18, you can start to register as an one. The sole reason I wasn’t registered as an adventurer for the couple of years now was because of my age…although I did consider being one in the past, right now I have to focus all my attention on working for the Starfall family.
With that said, I will use the benefit of having to use their Bank as a way to store my coins.
Walking up to the counter, I was meet with a very beautiful lady who was probably at her mid thirties.
With her hair tied to a pony tail, her uniform which was pattern with the iconic blue and red, fitted to exhibit her slim waist and perky breast. Her blue eyes simply looked up to me as she smiled with a familiarity only friends could make.
“Hmm? Abel…I heard about the recent fire at the orphanage, are you okay?” asked the receptionist as she looked very worried.
“Yeah, I’m fine. The Starfall family took the children in and now we’re living with them until the orphanage is built up again.” I said, explaining my situation to her.
Her name was Anna, one of the people who I was very close to in this Guild. Usually with my power to heal, I’m usually asked by most of the people in the city to help in certain situations.
Just about last year, when a stampede of monsters came by to invade the city, the adventurers were able to fend them off while I was also in the back, healing the injured.
In certain places, I was called to churches, to hospitals and here in the guild whenever theey lacked a healer. And healers were rare in this world. In about 500,000 people born, only about 1 is chosen to be a healer, and that’s based off of its statistics.
“I heard that you’re birthday was just yesterday and now that you’re 18, you can finally register as an adventurer!” said Anna who was very excited about this.
“Oh yeah…I’ll be putting that off until the orphanage is back on its own feet. Right now, since We’re indebted to the Starfall family, I’m out here doing a few jobs for them.” I said.
“Really? Oh, I thought you wanted to be an adventurer? Wasn’t that you’re dream?” asked Anna.
“Well yeah, it is…its just that I have to put my focus on the noble family for now.”
“Okay, so what are you doing here? Do you need something?” she asked.
“Oh yeah…I’m here to make an account for my name in the guild’s bank.” I said.
“Really? And how much are you planning on depositing right now?”
“For now, here’s everything I have collected.” I said as I gave her the bag containing the 100 silver and 10 gold coins.
“!?” she was surprised by the amount…seeing it, she recounted again.
“I can’t believe you own this much coin.” she said.
“Well, I’ve been saving as much as I can to this day…I was planning to become an adventurer, but things got out of hand.” I said. Lying to her that most of this was my savings…but in truth, this was just the job done today.
“Hmm, I see. Well, I’ll be putting this under your name then.” she said.
After a while, when I was finally able to register my name in the bank, I made my way back to the mansion.
The next day, I was yet again given another task to do but this time, I was told to assist sir Loyd in his hobby of hunting wild animals in the forest. With the forest being where I would usually hang out on, I was confident in leading him to certain areas where certain monsters would rest or lurk.
Making our way to the forest, Sir Loyd brought with him a very promising looking arrow and his signature sword carrying his family emblem.
It was only the two of us that came here, riding a single horse each.
“So, you usually come here to gather herbs and hunt wild game?” asked Sir Loyd as he took this chance to get to know me.
“Yeah, this is my usual place. I even built a tree fort over a large tree to rest and wait for some monsters to come by.” I said as I made my way to the tree fort.
As I introduced him to it, he noticed that there wasn’t a ladder or a rope to get to it. The only way to climb the fort was to use the branches from the nearby trees as a platform.
“Hmm, it’s a pretty tall fort.” he said.
“Yeah…wait here, I’ll get my things and we can start hunting.” I said as I climb the trees at my usual pace.
Having to grab a bow and a dagger, I simply jumped off the tree and landed softly at the floor.
“So you’ve done this since you were a child?” he asked.
“Oh, that’s right…I forgot to tell you, but that tree fort was the sole reason I found your daughter. Five years ago, while I was in the process of hunting a few wild birds up on the trees, I noticed a few new faces crossing the forest, with them, was your daughter inside a cage yelling for help.” I explained.
“Hmm, my daughter did say that she hound herself waking up in a cage.” he said.
“Seeing as how she was in danger, I used every arsenal I had with me and took care of the bandits. Since then, the tree where I found your daughter was the place that I built my fort. It has a good vantage point, where I can almost see every part of the forest.”
“That’s an interesting story, and again, I thank you for saving my daughter.”
“No problem. Now, come on, lets get to the watering hole…a few wild games should be there right now.” I said as I lead him to the river.
Making our way there, Sir Loyd started making conversation again.
“What do you plan to do after the orphanage has been restored?” he asked.
“I plan to become an adventurer since I’m really curious about the world.” I said.
“Do you ever think of joining the militia?” he asked.
“Not really…what the sisters usually asked me to become though was a priest since I had the blessing to heal the injured. But I told them that I was going to be an Adventurer…it seemed more fun.” I said.
“I heard from the sisters that you were a bright child…they said that even at a young age, you already knew how to count and how to read, which is very rare.” he said.
“Yeah…well, I did do that when I was young…hahaha” I laughed as I counted it to be a joke.
“They also told me that you were able to learn magic simply by your own. That kind of talent simply isn’t found in just anyone…” he said as if in praise.
“…I can do some basic spells just like any other adventurer can…I don’t think its that rare” I said.
“For adventurers, it would usually take them years just to learn a single spell to buff their attacks and even more to create something as difficult as a magic attack. And they all had help from mages who was granted them their time to teach…but there are some people who are simply more capable than others…we call them geniuses” he said.
“Hmm, so you’re saying that I’m a genius?” I asked
“Yes…yes I am.” he with no filter whatsoever.
“What are you trying to do by saying these things?” I asked.
“Abel…have you ever considered being raised properly?” he asked.
“What does that mean?” I asked.
“…Ever since we witnessed you’re capabilities a few years ago, we knew just how talented you were as a child, and with it, we saw just how capable you are”
“…”
“How would you like to become a Starfall?” he asked.
As he said those words, I stopped in my tracks, processing the very words he said.
And as I turned around to look him in the eyes, I could sigh in return.
“…” I remained silent as I tried to see the intentions in his eyes…the truth…
“Become my son…and I will support you to become someone who will one day turn the very world by your efforts.”
“…that’s…that’s a tempting offer….but no.”
“…” he stood silent as I rejected his offer.
“Sir Loyd, I may have accepted your offer for when I was but a child…but now, I’m an adult…I plan to live my life simply by my ambitions. Although I can’t be your son, I can always be your friend though.” I said as I expressed my reason.
“I see…well, I can understand why. When I was your age, I dreamed of becoming a hero…someone who would one day become a sort of fairy tale…become a man who would kill the demon king, but I guess time always passes and my name is only stuck to being where it should be.”
“Your name is that of Starfall…it’s a grand name. One that protects the very City of Mistwood.” I said.
“…thank you.”
We continued on our way to the watering hole…
There, we were able to hunt two wild deers…
With it, we went home with good catch…
But as we made our way back…suddenly, from the distance, we both saw a cariage carrying the young face of a young woman…
Faye Starfall…the young Lady of the Starfall family.
She has come home, and with her were her friends who all came from one place.
The Academy.
