Part 2
It was with firm conviction that I believed should my plan succeed, there would then be a high probability of success for my confessing to Tenshin.
There were, however, a few things I needed to do to make it happen…
“Then why don’t you and I work together? ”
“Collaboration? And how will we do that?”
Yuno asked, to which I replied with my lips curled into a large grin.
“I’ll help you improve your relationship with Tsukimiya, but in exchange, you will help me with my confession.”
“Help with your confession? … Why would I do that?”
Yuno was clearly unhappy with my proposal.
“I don’t think it’s a bad proposal. For Yuno, you can grow closer to your beloved nee-san while simultaneously getting rid of me as your rival. It’s killing two birds with one stone.”
“That may be true, but…”
“Or would you rather maintain your current, awkward relationship with your beloved nee-san for the rest of your life?”
“Ugh… I-I d-don’t want that…”
“Then cooperate with me. I’m sure we can help each other out.”
I said to her in a gentle tone.
Yuno listened and bit her lip in frustration before saying,
“Alright, if you say it like that, then I don’t mind helping you.”
Those words of agreement! I made a victory pose in my mind.
“Then Yuno. Can you give me your contact information?”
” Eh? Why? Don’t tell me you’re in love…”
“As if! I just told you about my plan for confession to Tenshin!”
I shouted, Yuno’s cheeks flushed with red.
“Listen, we’re going to do a lot of things to improve your relationship with Tsukimiya and it’ll be troublesome if I can’t get in touch with you. That’s why we’re exchanging contact information.”
“Ahh… t-that’s right. I understand now.”
It looked like she got what I was saying, as Yuno reached into her uniform and pulled out her phone. Really, what kind of god possessed so many misconceptions?
“Okay. Now that we’ve exchanged contact information, we should hold a strategy meeting.”
“Y-yeah… o-okay. Let’s do it! ”
Yuno and I proceeded to spend the rest of our lunch break discussing various ways to improve the siblings’ relationship.
The first class after lunch came and went, and I headed over to the locker room to get ready for physical education class.
“Yikes.”
I suddenly realized that I didn’t have my gym clothes.
Maybe I had left it behind and simply forgotten about it with my head so preoccupied with the Tsukimiya sisters’ dilemma. Anyways, I headed back to my homeroom class.
“How can I improve their relationship? ”
I couldn’t stop thinking about it as I walked down the hall.
Although I had offered to help Yuno mend her relationship with her sister, I was having difficulty coming up with a solution. I didn’t have any siblings so the situation was rather unrelatable.
Some time toward the end of our lunch break, I had asked Yuno to break down her relationship with her sister and explain it to me.
According to her, the Tsukimiya sisters basically never talked, and when they did, it was nine times out of ten that the older Tsukimiya initiated the conversation.
The older sister would always be the one engaging the conversation, to which the younger Tsukimiya would respond with muddled words and quiet mumbles. As a result, their conversations would merely last for a couple minutes at best.
As for the solution to the problem at large? We would need to somehow develop a way for Yuno to speak normally with her beloved nee-san, Tsukimiya.
“Tsu!”
I opened the classroom door, finding that Tenshin was inside. The unexpected encounter bumped up my heart beat to a rapid rate.
“Yu-Yuugo-kun!”
Seeing me, Tenshin yelled in surprise.
For some reason, she was sitting in my seat, the bag the held my gym clothes sitting atop the desk. In addition, Tenshin held my gym pants in her hand.
“W-what’s u-up? What are you doing? ”
“Huh! Th-this is…”
Tenshin’s eyes became flustered and her face flushed bright red. I didn’t know what was going on, but she was so cute!
“Ah, were you’re going to deliver my jersey when you realized I had forgotten it? ”
That made a lot of sense. She’d definitely pulled out the jersey to make sure it was mine before she delivered it to me.
“E-eh… Th-That’s right, Yuugo-kun! ”
“I thought so!”
How kind of her to go out of her way to deliver someone else’s lost and found. What a kind hearted soul.
“Yes. Here you go.”
Tenshin handed me my jersey and I shoved it into my bag.
“Ah, thanks.”
“T-then Hi-Himari is free to g-go right?”
As soon as I received the bag, Tenshin said that and tried to leave the classroom. But then I suddenly remembered something.
“Can you hold on for a minute? ”
Tenma stopped before the door and turned back to me.
“Wh-What is it? ”
“I have something I really need to ask Tenshin.”
When I said that, Tenshin’s body jolted.
I wonder why. I felt she was somehow a little frightened.
“Does Tenshin have a younger sister? ”
“Y-yeah. There are. Three of them.”
I knew it. After all, I heard about it a few times last year.
“How does Tenshin make up with your sister when you have a fight?”
“Make up? T-that’s what you want to ask?
“Y-yes.”
When I said that, Tenshin breathed a sigh of relief. What did she think I was going to ask her?
“Well… To start with, I don’t get into fights with my sisters,” she said, holding her index finger to her chin as she thought long and hard.
“Maybe a date…”
” Date? ”
“Yeah! Because no matter how far apart they get, sisters and brothers can usually get back together as long as they have fun together!”
She explained to me with a smile on her face.
A date. To repair the delicate relationship between the Tsukimiya sisters, it might be good to do at least that.
“Ah, Was that of any help, Yuugo-kun? ”
“… Eh, Ah. That’s really helpful. Thanks.”
“Ehehe.”
Tenshin grinned happily.
Cute. Seriously, too cute.
“Then, Himari will go now. The girls also have gym class, so I need to change.”
“A-ah. I see.”
“Yuugo-kun… Did you just imagine Himari naughty appearance right now? ”
“I didn’t! Not at all! ”
Tenshin chuckled. It got weird in the middle, but Tenshin teased me at the end.
After gym class ended, I went back to the classroom, sat down in my seat, pulled out my smartphone, and started texting Yuno. It was, of course, about repairing the relationship between the Tsukimiya sisters.
“Yuno, take Tsukimiya out on a date next weekend. Then maybe the relationship between you two can be restored.” …… okay, sent. Maybe she’ll see this text after school.
As a side note, I still haven’t told Tenshin how I feel about her, even though I’ve got her email address.
I got it around last spring, before she had a makeover.
At the time, she wasn’t exactly the idol of the school, so we had a certain amount of opportunities to go to and from school together. That’s when I asked her for it.
I was so happy back then when I exchanged e-mail addresses with Tenshin that I almost screamed for no reason.
I remember it well. In the past, I’ve exchanged a few emails with Tenshin, and it’s one of the best things that ever happened to me.
I remember that just a day before I got her email address, Tenshin said she just recently bought a smartphone. Apparently, it was her first ever smartphone. Looking back, that timing was pretty good.
As I was thinking that, my phone suddenly vibrated. It was a reply from Yuno.
“There’s no way I could ask her out on a date! Stupid! ”
This was the expected reaction, but calling me “stupid” seemed a little much.
“You should try it first. It’s not like you can’t talk to Tsukimiya at all, right? ”
I replied and put my phone on the desk, but as soon as I did, my phone vibrated again.
…… Your reply is too fast.
“That’s true, but…. dating is not …….”
“You don’t have to say ‘let’s go on a date’. Just come up with a good reason. Then like the school idol said, you’ll be able to mend things with Tsukimiya.”
“Some reason, it’s not that hard to find ……? Eh? School Idol? Did you come up with this idea? ”
Oh, man. I just said a few too many things.
“Don’t tell me you…”
But it’s okay. In a situation like this, you can almost always get through it with that expression.
“Tee-hee.”
“Die.”
It’s not working at all.
“What are you doing? ”
“Uwa~a!”
I was so scared when I was suddenly called out. I looked and a beautiful silver-haired girl was standing beside me. It was Tsukimiya.
“Mu~u… Why are you so surprised? ”
“No, anyone would be surprised if one were to be spoken unexpectedly.”
And also because it was awkward for me to be seen exchanging emails with Yuno.
But judging from her reaction, it seemed Tsukimiya didn’t see the contents of the email.
“Fu~fu. I wouldn’t be surprised if Yuugo suddenly spoke to me. Rather, I would be happy.”
Tsukimiya let out a proud smile.
I couldn’t help but wonder if that was true. Then I’ll sneak up on her from behind next time.
“Ah… come to think of it, I’ve got something I wanted to ask you.”
