Part 1
The next day, during lunch break after morning classes.
I was eating my lunch on the school rooftop while thinking about how to stop the powers of the god of romantic comedy and finally give a successful confession.
The powers of the god of romantic comedy can create any manner of phenomena to help or hinder a person’s love life. To be frank, it’s a cheat ability, but after much deliberation, I’d come up with three possible conditions that would ensure my success and block the god’s ability.
– The first is to get a hold of Tsukimiya’s “weakness”. Much like blackmailing her, the hope was to use it as a shield to stop her from interfering with my confession.
– The second was to look for “flaws” in the romantic comedy god’s powers. There was a distinct possibility that they’d only activate under specific circumstances.
– And finally, I needed to get a collaborator. That is, I needed to find someone to support my confession endeavors and prevent Tsukimiya from interfering. Though I admit I don’t know how anyone would really go about stopping her.
This was all I could think of when it came to fighting back against Tsukimiya…… But there were definitely some problems with these options.
I didn’t have any close friends who could help me discover Tsukimiya’s weakness or someone who could become a “collaborator” to prevent her from interfering.
Hmmm…… No, there was only one.
That’s what I mean. …… No, there’s only one.
“Maybe I should ask Chitose…..”
But he was busy with a club tournament coming up. I couldn’t afford to cause too much trouble for him.
Before lunchtime came around, Tenshin invited Tsukimiya to the cafeteria. The conversation went something like this.
“Athena, would you like to go to lunch with me? ”
“No, I don’t want to…”
“Come on, don’t say that. Let’s go eat together. I’m sure it’ll be fun!”
“I-I said I don’t want to! ”
“Moo~ you leave me no choice. I’ll take you there by force if I have to.”
“Ha! Hey, what are you doing! S-stop! L-Let go! I said let go of me!”
… Well, it can’t be denied that Tenshin forced Tsukimiya to go with her, but this was out of concern for Tsukimiya, who still didn’t really fit in with the class. Tenshin really is a kind girl, you know. Well because of that, Tsukimiya was nowhere to be seen.
It was quite the relief. I wanted some time to myself to think things over.
Or so I thought to myself as the rooftop door burst open.
It was still pretty cold this time of year, so there weren’t too many people having lunch up here. There was no one here today except me and…. Tsukimiya?
Or so I thought. It was another girl with twin-tailed hair.
Her long, golden, smoky hair was tied back in two by a ribbon. Her eyes were green.
She was a light-skinned girl with a slender body and a pretty face. She was beautiful, maybe too beautiful, to say the least.
“But wait. That girl is ……”
After muttering to myself, I frantically rummaged through my memory.
Twin-tailed, a pretty face, and a beautiful girl……!
Then it hit me. Wasn’t that the girl who stuck her tongue out at me in the hallway the day before yesterday?
At first I thought she was a nice girl because she picked up the money I dropped from my wallet, but the moment she saw my face, she clicked her tongue. That really got me down.
“!”
My eyes suddenly met with the beautiful girl.
“…… Tsk.”
Again with the tongue!
Does my face really look that gross? Or am I just hated that much?
But the beautiful girl didn’t turn back on her heels; on the contrary, she sat down next to me for some reason. Why? There were so many other seats. Is this a flag?
“You’re Kirishima Yuugo, right?”
“E-eh, yeah”
How does she know my name? Is it a flag after all?
“You virgin!”
She suddenly screamed. Ah, this was totally different. There wasn’t a flag or anything.
“I don’t know why you’re calling me a virgin all of a sudden, but don’t judge a man by his looks alone. You don’t know if I’m a virgin or not.”
“You know, the fact that you’re already saying that means you’re a virgin. I don’t like men who pretend to be something they’re not.
Then she shrugged her shoulders. This girl…
“Hey, you’re being rude to a guy who’s just barely met you. Who do you think you are?”
I asked the sassy twin-tail in a strident manner.
“I’m nee-san’s little sister, Tsukimiya Yuno. You can call me Yuno-sama.”
“Your nee-san? First of all, which nee-san is that ……?”
Tsukimiya?
“Are you, Tsukimiya Athena’s sister?
“That’s right. Don’t say my sister’s name so casually. You virgin.”
Within minutes of meeting her, I’d hit my patience threshold. This girl was a prodigy when it came to irritating people!
“Seriously. How did she fall for this bummed-out, ugly guy. I don’t understand…”
Tsukimiya’s sister – Yuno blurted out in disgust. You’re really rude to me aren’t you?
“You’re wondering how I knew? I’ve heard it from my nee-san.”
“From Tsukimiya? ”
Did she tell her family about me?
“Really, what did she see in such a worthless guy.”
Yuno looked down on me with a cold gaze. That’s not the kind of look a kouhai would give a senpai, you know.
“…… So, why are you cursing me?”
In the first place, I don’t remember doing something to be cursed at by her.
“That’s because you’ve made my beloved nee-san fall in love with you. ”
Yuno proudly said. She’s a bonafide siscon from the looks of things…… How am I supposed to react to this?
“In other words, you’re frustrated that your beloved sister’s heart was stolen by such a worthless man? ”
“That’s you I’m talking about!” Yuno said. She replied and pointed fingers at me.
“Tell you what, I don’t have any feelings for Tsukimiya. And it’s your sister who’s preventing me from confessing to my first love many times. ……”
“Yes, I know. My nee-san, the most beautiful woman in the world, likes you, but even so, you like another woman named Tenshin. You really deserved to be punished.”
“I deserved to be punished…?”
And she even knows about Tenshin too?
She probably heard it from Tsukimiya… but seriously, Yuno, you talk way too much.
While I was being abused by the younger Tsukimiya, a certain thought crossed my mind.
“… is Yuno also a god of romantic comedy?”
“Hey! Call me Yuno-sama!”
“Okay, okay. Seriously though … is Yuno a god of romantic comedy?”
-Slap. I got smacked. It hurt.
“Yes, that’s right. I’m a god.”
Yuno puffed out her chest and spoke proudly.
“Even if you told me that…”
She looked like a normal person, and there was nothing god-like about her.
“You look like you don’t believe me.”
“Well, yeah. I might believe you if the sky started raining women’s pant*es.”
I uttered something that I think Tsukimiya used to interrupt my confession in the past.
“Haa~… You really are hopeless.”
Yuno let out a deep breath and a magical wand appeared in her hand. It was the exact same one Tsukimiya was using.
“Eh?”
Then Yuno swung her wand and countless light particles appeared, rising vigorously into the blue sky.
And then it happened!
Something started falling from the sky.
“!!!”
It was undoubtedly women’s pant*es. Moreover, there were a large quantity and variety of them, ranging from cute bear prints to stimulating string designs.
“How’s that? Does this convince you that I am a god? ”
“…… Aa — more or less”
Then, I casually slipped a piece of pant*es from the pile into my pocket.
“Then we won’t be needing this anymore.”
But then Yuno swung the stick again and all the pant*es disappeared. And of course, including the pant*es I hid.
“Oi, why did you make them disappear?”
“Why are you complaining? If you keep that up, one more word and you’re going to the afterlife.”
She glared at me seriously. When a god said that, it sounded like it’ll come true.
“Also, you hid a piece of pant*es in your pocket, didn’t you? You pervert.”
“……”
I can’t say anything back.
“I really wonder why nee-san fell in love with such a guy…”
Yuno blurted out after turning off the magic wand.
I don’t know why either.
It’s not like I could ask her directly face to face and say “What do you like about me? ”
Seriously, why did Tsukimiya fall in love with me? It’s really a mystery.
“Anyway, I hope you won’t mess with nee-san from now on.”
“Really, I’m not messing with her.”
Rather, she’s the one disrupting my confession.
“You know, if you are too much of a sis-con, your nee-san will hate you. “
When I pointed that out, she looked dumbfounded and Yuno suddenly fell silent.
Hmm, what’s with the strange reaction?
“Oi, are you okay?
“…… yeah”
Now she’s suddenly become timid. This is definitely weird.
And her face turned away, avoiding eye contact. She’s definitely acting weird.
“Are you hiding something? ”
“Such a thing!”
“You’re a lousy liar!”
‘Ugh’. Yuno grunted and let out a sigh as if giving up.
“Alright. I’ll make you a special exception because you’re my rival.”
“Eh, are you sure?”
Yuno nodded. I don’t know what her secret is, but she seems okay to tell me. It’s kind of surprisingly easy to reveal.
“I’ve been in love with nee-san for a year now.”
When I was pondering, a strange word came out of Yuno’s mouth.
“Love? Like a sis-con complex? ”
“No, it’s not. I have romantic feelings for nee-san.”
Yuno calmly said this. Hey! You know you just blurted out something shocking.
“Hey, is that okay? Won’t you have a lot of problems with that?”
“T-That’s ……”
Yuno was at a loss for words. Was it a big deal after all?
“W-well, it doesn’t matter that much.”
“I think it does……”
Despite me pointing this out, Yuno ignored it and continued on.
“Ever since I realized I was in love with nee-san, I’ve been talking less with her.”
“Does that mean that after falling in love with Tsukimiya, you avoided her?”
When I said that, Yuno nodded her head.
“That’s why it’s been an awkward situation with nee-san for the past year. This is the worst.”
After she finished speaking, Yuno let out a deep sigh with a slumped shoulder.
“Is this the secret that you’ve been hiding?”
“That’s right.”
Yuno gave a small nod with a sullen smile.
“I see. I understand the situation mostly now.”
In short, after realizing her love for Tsukimiya, Yuno couldn’t speak with her sister anymore.
It’s also become an awkward relationship between the two of them.
I’m sure that Tsukimiya isn’t aware of this and doesn’t have any special interest in Yuno. It must have been a one-sided love coming from Yuno’s side.
“Also, are you okay with it? Telling me something important like this.”
“It doesn’t matter. That’s because you’re my rival in love.”
She pointed fingers at me and declared me a rival. What a troublesome thing! Let’s just ignore it.
“Don’t just ignore me!”
But it’s a pain to deal with it, so I brushed it off and asked Yuno about what’s on my mind.
“Hey, Yuno. Don’t you want to do something about your current relationship with Tsukimiya? ”
“…… It’s obvious that I want to do something about it. I don’t want to stay in an awkward relationship with nee-san.”
Right after I heard all of Yuno’s words, I smiled wickedly. The plan I’ve been thinking might be realized after all. Of course it’s the plan to deliver my feelings to Tenshin.
