One month after the confession, I tried to confess again by writing a love letter to Tenshin, but as soon as Tenshin received it, the love letter turned into a photo of a very popular gravure idol. Tenshin received it with a bitter smile on her face, and of course, my confession failed.
My first confession failed because of the rain of panties. The second one failed because of the gravure photo.
It was at this point I started to have a bad feeling about this, but I couldn’t disregard the possibility that it was some kind of coincidence.
So after another month, I confessed my feelings to her by email.
However, an error would occur every time I tried to send an email, and for some reason, I would receive a mountain of photos of beautiful girls with silver hair and big breasts from an unknown sender.
Every single photo was of a different silver-haired, big-breasted beauty (although of course I saved the photos).
This happened dozens of times, and eventually I couldn’t even send the confession email to Tenshin.
What is this, a new type of bullying?
There were now a total of 15 times that I’ve failed to confess.
I couldn’t give up on the confession. I’m so much in love with Tenshin that I’d die at the thought of her being taken away by another man.
If I don’t confess soon, Tenshin might be confessed to by another guy and end up being in a relationship with someone before I know it.
Besides, Tenshin is the school idol now.
I heard that more than 20 boys had already confessed their feelings to her this month alone. Fortunately for me, she’s turned them all down.
But if things continue to go on like this, Tenshin might really become someone’s girlfriend.
That’s why I want to confess to Tenshin as soon as possible. I’m sure I’ll be crying with joy if it ends in a success, and if I fail, well I could just go for it again.
But no matter how much I try to confess to her, my feelings can’t reach her.
“What if I can’t confess to Tenshin until I graduate?”
It’s not that I don’t have the determination, but some freak event always seems to happen whenever I try to confess.
Everytime I muster up the courage to confess, some unpredictable event happens. There’s just nothing that I can do about it.
“I guess I am cursed.”
As I was grieving alone, I overheard a conversation from the boys beside Tenshin.
“But Himari-chan really has changed, hasn’t she?”
“Yeah. When she first came to school, she was a girl who didn’t stand out from the crowd.”
They were talking in whispers so that Tenshin couldn’t hear them, but I could hear the whole thing.
The two of them were right.
As I’ve mentioned before, when she first entered the school, Tenshin was a very inconspicuous girl.
But after last year’s summer break, Tenshin suddenly underwent a makeover.
She dyed her hair brown, applied light make-up, and shortened her skirt from below her knees by nearly ten centimeters.
She also changed the tone of her voice and communicated much better with others than she did before.
As a result, Tenshin’s reputation grew rapidly and she quickly became the school’s idol.
To be honest, as someone who had been involved with Tenshin since I first came to this school, I was quite surprised by the way she changed. However, I’ll say it again, my love for Tenshin has never changed. Although Tenshin may have had a makeover, I felt that her inner self hadn’t changed at all.
If a student lost their contact lenses, she would help look for them. If a friend was depressed because of her boyfriend’s rejection, she would do her best to encourage her.
She’s the same kind and compassionate Tenshin before her makeover. That’s why my feelings for her were never lost. In fact, I might have come to love her even more because she’s become so much prettier than before.
The only thing that has troubled me is the amount of time I have to talk to her after she underwent her makeover.
The time we have to talk now is noticeably less than before.
There was a time when we would walk to school together, but nowadays we rarely do so. I would like to go to appeal to Tenshin, but I can’t because she’s constantly surrounded on all sides by our classmates.
“Ha~a (sigh)”
I let out a big sigh when the classroom door suddenly opened with a bang.
The one who appeared was a beautiful girl.
”Ah, good morning Athena-chan.”
As soon as she noticed the beautiful girl had entered the classroom, Tenshin smiled and greeted her from the center of the circle of classmates.
Then all of the classmates around Tenshin simultaneously turned to Athena.
“Ah, good morning”
The beautiful girl replied in a low voice before quickly sitting down in the seat next to mine, as if embarrassed by the attention everyone was giving her.
Tsukimiya Athena. It was the name of the beautiful girl who had just exchanged greetings with Tenshin.
I’ve believed that it has always been a good idea to have an understanding of what to look for in a beautiful girl.
Her long hair extends all the way down her back and gives off a silver luster. Just her hair alone is so beautiful that it looks like countless particles of light dance about with every swaying motion of her hair.
Her eyes are majestic, exuding a mysterious blue color and her skin is a beautiful translucent sheen of pure white.
Her eyes and nose are more European than Japanese, and her beauty is clearly different from that of a Japanese person. In addition to all that, her breasts are also world class.
She has an overwhelmingly good look that cannot be compared to the girls of our grade.
Tsukimiya, a quiet girl, is a transfer student who was admitted to our school this year.
Aside from being a girl of few words, she’s not very good at interacting with people.
That’s why even though it’s been two weeks since she transferred, Tsukimiya was still struggling to fit in.
“Everyone. The teacher will be here soon, so let’s go back to our seats.”
When Tenshin said that, our classmates returned to their seats, saying “if you say so” or “let’s talk about it again during recess”.
But then Tenshin suddenly got up from her seat and walked over to me for some reason.
Maybe she had something to say to me?
I had such faint hopes, but unfortunately, she changed directions before my seat.
She actually came to a stop in front of Tsukimiya’s seat, which was right next to me.
“Hey Athena-chan. Is there anything that’s been troubling you lately?”
“N-nothing in particular.”
“I see. If you have any problems, call Himari right away. If Athena-chan asks me to, I’ll fly to your side.”
Saying that, Tenma beams a bright smile.
‘Gufu. I know it wasn’t directed at me, but it was so cute, I couldn’t help but feel my heart race.’
‘’O-okay…”
When Tsukimiya nodded, Tenshin replied with a “Then Himari will return to her seat.” She then turned around and smiled at me — wahhhh! Seriously! I’m super happy!
And so, while I’m in the midst of a heartfelt fever, Tenshin went back to her seat.
Ever since Tsukimiya transferred to the school now, Tenshin has always been concerned about her.
The reason probably was because Tenshin was a kind girl. That aspect of her has not changed at all from her humble days to the present.
That’s why I’ve always been in love with Tenshin, but I would have liked to be a little closer to her. I’m so jealous of Tsukimiya for being able to talk with Tenshin early in the morning.
When I directed my envious eyes upon Tsukimiya, our eyes unexpectedly met, but she immediately turned away from me with incredible speed.
What’s up with her? Did she think I was a creepy guy or something? If that’s the case, I’m shocked.
“Okay. Everyone, take your seats.”
I was just beginning to feel uneasy when sensei came through the door. After the morning roll call and greetings, homeroom began.
***********
Eventually, lunch break came and I went to the campus cafeteria to buy some food.
I’d like to have a homemade bento but my parents work together and I can’t cook at all, and I don’t have a sister who can make her brother’s lunch in my mother’s stead.
So every time I have lunch, I buy bread and lunch boxes full of additives from the school cafeteria.
“Well then, what shall I buy today?”
I take my wallet out of my pocket and think about it while checking the contents.
I had about four hundred yen on hand, which was enough to either buy a fried bento or three yakisoba breads.
Should I go for something a bit more expensive or should I choose quantity? It was a tough decision.
“Gufu.”
As I walked around contemplating the lunch menu, something suddenly impacted against my chest.
I had to shift my position and ended up dropping some coins from my wallet.
I turned my head to see what was going on, and I saw a twin-tail schoolgirl holding her head with both hands.
“Sorry. Are you okay?”
I apologized, worried that she might be hurt.
“Yes, I’m okay. Sorry for bumping into you so suddenly.”
“No, that was my fault. I wasn’t paying attention in the middle of the hallway.”
I must have been too absorbed with thinking about what to get for lunch.
“Ah, the money. We have to pick it up.”
The twin-tails student crouched over the floor and began to pick up each coin one by one.
I followed suit and immediately started picking up the coins in the same way.
“Is that all?”
“Ah, yes. That’s a relief. Thanks.”
“It’s the least I could do.”
The student handed me the coins she had picked up, adding to the collection I had managed to retrieve off the floor.
We both stood up, allowing me to see the girl’s face for the first time.
She had green eyes and a face that looked like that of an Eastern European person. Was she a foreign exchange student or something?
“You are…”
As I was thinking about this, the twin tailed schoolgirl widened her eyes and gave me a surprised look.
Then, for some reason, she narrowed her eyes and stared at me.
“Tsk.”
She clicked her tongue as hard as she possibly could.
Eh. What’s her problem? Have we met before?
“Tsk, of all the people…”
I was quite confused by the incomprehensible reaction, and the schoolgirl walked by muttering something under her breath.
“What the hell is her problem?”
After that, I tried to search my memory to see if I knew her from somewhere.
But in the end, I didn’t know anything about her and headed to the school cafeteria.
*******************
The afternoon class ended without delay and the club students started heading to their respective activity locations.
I wasn’t a member of any clubs, so I headed out of the classroom to head home as usual.
“Yuugo-kun.”
Then, unexpectedly, my name was called.
I turned around, and to my surprise, there stood Tenshin.
‘’W-what’s the matter?”
“You forgot didn’t you. Yuugo-kun, you’re assigned for cleaning duty today.”
I got an unexpected response.
I was going to go home and relax, but I supposed it can’t be helped. Honestly, it’s such a bother.
At least Himari will be on cleaning duty too.
“All right. Let’s start cleaning up right away.”
As soon as I said that, I brought my bag down from my shoulder and left in a corner of the classroom.
Cleaning duty with Tenshin. This should be a great opportunity to raise her favorability towards me.
We moved all the desks and chairs to the back of the classroom to make the room bigger and began to clean.
Incidentally, most of the members on cleaning duty today had been absent from school due to illness or had skipped school altogether, so other than Tenma and me, Tsukimiya was the only other person here. But I was extremely happy with this outcome. The fewer people we had for cleaning, the more time I could have with Tenshin.
