With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 99- Resolve
Maya warped them back to the Tower since Amaye was quite anxious after hearing about Yuki’s disappearance.
When Shio left for Tokyo after hearing the news that Maya was injured, Amaye wasn’t aware of the whole incident. But now it doesn’t matter.
Her brother has returned safely and all that matters.
In his room, the four people sat on the bed with Amaye still holding Yuki’s hand in hers, to ensure that he wouldn’t leave and disappear again.
Maya had called the Tower’s nurse to check on Yuki and fortunately, there wasn’t anything unnatural in him….except for his hyperactive metabolism and slightly colder temperature than how a healthy body should possess.
Yuki didn’t let the nurse take a thorough inspection and thanked her before she left.
Yuki wanted to sort things out about himself first before letting any stranger study him.
“Yuki…you never told us that something like that happened that day?” Without hearing the details, Yuki knew what his sister was asking about.
Amaye was talking about that day when he met the Goddess and received those blessings.
Yuki scoffed and spoke in a self-mocking tone, “Saying things like I met a deity who gave me blessings just because I protected her in my phone….do you see, how idiotic it sounds?”
Although he said that no one in the room looked amused. All they felt was concern.
“Yuki-kun…you nearly died that day. I am just happy that nothing happened to you and through any reason you received these powers which became a new source of motivation for you.” Shio smiled and pointed out the bright points of that incident.
And she really meant what she said.
Yuki remained silent since he was forced to think of that day once again.
…he did fall while running downhill and dropped his phone, but when did he actually get injured?
‘Was it all an illusion then? Haah…’ Yuki was quite frustrated by the fact that he got manipulated so easily.
Maya, who had been almost silent until now, asked, “Yuki-sama, the news of your return hasn’t been divulged. And given the possible danger you might have to face, I think it’s better to keep things like this for the time being.”
“I also think so Maya…but what troubles me is the uncertainty of the incoming danger.” Yuki’s eyes fell, as he added, “I can’t believe that man who narrated the story for me, but not believing his words of warning feels like I would be making a mistake.”
Yuki regarded his father as ‘that man’ since now, he actually couldn’t tell what kind of relationship he had with that sly fox.
Yuki has seen the Vampires for real and the threat they could bring and if, even the bits of the story he heard are true, then Yuki wouldn’t be allowed to live his life freely.
“….how strong are they?” Amaye asked in apprehension.
Maya’s tone became heavier as she reported, “Kurokawa Ryouya was nearly beaten by one of them.”
“!!!”
“Huh?!”
Amaye and Shio had similar reactions. The veteran fighter of the Kurokawa clan who was hailed all over the world as the Sword Saint was nearly defeated.
To add fuel to the fire Yuki added, “And that guy wasn’t even the main boss. He was the servant of an ancient vampire.”
“…”
Everyone turned silent after that.
If one of those servants could rival the top hunter from the human side then what if some of those servants decide to attack at once?
The spell under which Yuki was restrained was also quite strange and excessively strong. How much he tried he couldn’t move against the chanter’s will nor could use his skills.
Things were looking quite bad.
Amidst the silence, Yuki suddenly voiced something that he had been thinking for a while now, “I will ascend some floors in the Tower. ”
This time, it was a far greater reaction than before, and the one who was shocked the most was Maya.
Ascending the floors means Maya wouldn’t be able to see Yuki regularly unlike Shio, who was working as his maid. Maya wouldn’t be able to meet him of her own free will and only when Yuki gets permission from the administrative office, he could descend to the lower floor.
In a way, it would be like they have to continue a long-distance relationship.
And Maya wasn’t prepared for that.
“Yuki-sama…I-”
“Don’t worry, Maya. I won’t leave you behind.” Yuki held her hand and smiled warmly at the girl.
All her concern seemed to have vanished with that single smile, as she calmed down.
With his eyes turning unfocused Yuki said, “I have heard that the higher I go, the more confidential and clandestine ancient records can be found. And I have a feeling that to face the incoming danger, I need to first know more about this world.”
Yuki couldn’t live in denial and pretend that he was as normal as every other student in the Tower. He has heard and felt that he wasn’t the being whom he used to think he was.
And to ensure a comfortable future, he just needs to take upon another new challenge…just like he used to do in the past.
Shio was about to say something to cool down the mood, but then suddenly someone knocked on the door.
Maya informed, “Professor Kazuya.”
No one seemed to be surprised since once Maya asked for a nurse, she was prepared to let the administration know about Yuki’s arrival at the Tower.
“Yuki-kun?” Shio asked to which Yuki nodded.
Getting up she went toward the door and parted it.
And as Maya said, the blue-haired middle-aged man stood with a serious frown on his face.
“Please come in.” Kazuya nodded to that invitation before Amaye pulled a chair for him to sit.
Once the older was seated, he asked Yuki, “Do you know who kidnapped you?”
The sudden and direct question made him surprised but Yuki responded nevertheless, “Someone who wanted to blackmail the Kurokawa clan, taking me as the hostage.”
Yuki has planned and told the other three to say the same story to everyone who asks about it. After all, the existence of vampires was still a hidden fact.
Kazuya remained silent with his frown deepening. He assessed the boy in front and found there was something…different about Yuki.
“If it’s not something urgent then can you let Yuki-sama rest?” Maya asked in her usual indifferent tone; bringing Kazuya back from his stupor.
Kazuya sighed feeling the still green animosity from Maya but didn’t say anything about it.
Taking out an envelope from his blazer pocket Kazuya handed it to Yuki.
Yuki looked at the envelope and found there was an official stamp of the Tower on it but no name of the sender.
“Who is it from?” Yuki asked, thinking whether the administration had decided to hand Yuki to authorities or something.
However, Kazuya’s response left him and the other three completely baffled,
“It is from the Tower Master.”

A/N:- Just give it some chapters, I promise everything would feel like how it was. Remember, Vampires are just an element of the story, not the main focus. Just needed some introductory chapters and proper reasoning for some of the things.
