With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 20- First day~2!
It took me four hours to gather all the knowledge provided by the introductory video.
So basically, I have to keep on improving myself since every three months an assessment test of the students would be taken in which if performed well then I would be promoted to the next floor. In some extraordinary cases, students are directly sent to two floors above their current one as well, but such a scenario happened only thrice in the past.
Anyway, I was not aiming to leap through floors since I want to venture every step of the Tower to gain as much knowledge as I could.
What made me tense was the policy of expelling students.
If someone scores below the passing grade then they would be immediately thrown out of the tower without any second chances. Due to the high rate of eviction, Tower takes admission every six months.
And those who score just the passing marks would not be able to promote. They won’t be expelled immediately but if they remained unpromoted for consecutive three assessments then bye-bye.
This place would never nurture a failure. To graduate from the Tower I need to up my game.
“A miso ramen and a green tea. Thank you.”
The cafeteria of the Tower was situated in the main building. Here, I was not obliged to eat machine-made food since everything was free of cost. But I need to eat in moderation as well since after lunch there would be a class of P.E.
The schedule of the following classes has already been sent to my terminal so I could prepare accordingly.
Taking my lunch which seemed mouthwatering, I made my way toward the tables arranged for the students. There were many vacant seats since every floor has its own cafeteria.
I roamed my eyes around and found students were mostly sitting with their respective groups. Unlike my previous high school where were groups like top grade groups, otaku gangs, and so on, there was no such thing here. Everyone seemed to be from a renowned family and possessed neat and proper etiquette. No distinction between them whatsoever.
Maya was also among those groups. She was mostly silent and only hummed and nodded once in a while.
“!!” I cursed myself for staring at her for too long. I hurriedly pulled my gaze away from her since coincidentally, Maya also lifted her eyes to look at me.
I didn’t want to give the impression that I still think about her so I remained natural and took a corner seat before I began devouring the meal.
As expected, it was delicious.

[At the same time]
Inside the cafeteria, a group of four young men was sitting in pairs facing each other. Outwardly from others’ perspectives, it would seem that they are chatting casually about something while enjoying their lunch.
However, in reality, these four currently were eyeing a single male sitting across from them at the corner of the cafeteria, currently sipping on his tea.
“So, this guy is Sword Legend Ryouya’s grandson, huh?”
A blond male, named Ryan Willson, a British by birth asked the one sitting beside him. Ryan was a transfer student and one of the four A-ranked students in the first year.
Other than the fact that he excels in the Flame element and his father was an influential person on an international level, what makes Ryan intrigued by Yuki was Ryan’s liking toward the woman who was rumored to be engaged to the said silver-haired boy.
Ryan was infatuated with Maya’s beauty since the first day. He was himself quite handsome and added to the fact that he belongs to a prominent family as well, Ryan found no issue in approaching Maya.
…only to get ignored by her.
It didn’t help that Maya was stronger than Ryan which negated the option to force himself on her.
But that stubbornness of hers only triggered his male instincts and made Ryan try even more. He no longer tries to approach Maya directly but the blond knows, if he shows his superiority in the class and remains at the top of the class hierarchy, Maya would concede, one way or another.
However, a roadblock suddenly appeared in the name of the fiancé and more so when the betrothed was here in the Tower.
Ryan was stress-free after digging out information about Yuki and finding out that he’s talentless and nothing to get bothered about but now, that he is here in the Tower meant that either the guy has faked his trait until now which was nigh impossible or maybe he has reawakened.
In either case, Ryan was now feeling a little troubled seeing the wimp here.
“But what’s there to feel troubled about Ryan? Maya-sama definitely doesn’t like that guy and I am sure their relationship will soon also come to an end.”
It was no hidden fact that Yuki has been disowned by his family and had changed his surname as well. The Asuzawa clan would never harbor such a waste of an heir.
However, Ryan didn’t have such thoughts. He could see how Maya was stealing glances at Yuki every once in a while. Though Yuki didn’t seem to be caring about Maya, it was not the same for the latter.
“Ryan…do you have anything in mind?”
Ryan’s best friend and spar partner Akisu voiced his question since he could sense how Ryan was still worked up about this new addition to their class.
The blond British remained silent for a bit before he turned toward the boy who was sitting on his left.
“Kabamura, do you still have the codes of the student’s terminal?”
The person in question was Ryan’s lackey and errand boy. Other than that, what was notable about the pale green-haired boy was his technical knowledge which was on the level surpassing any high schooler.
Hearing his boss’ words, Kabamura nodded in enthusiasm and replied with a, ‘Yup!’
Ryan grinned at that as a prank formulated in his mind worth trying on the newly admitted freshman. Ryan wasn’t an upperclassman to partake in ragging but he wasn’t innocent enough to let his rival wander freely as well.
‘Sorry Yuki but I have already claimed Maya… ‘
