With great powers, comes a great harem!

“Please follow the teacher. She would guide you to your homeroom. ”

I nodded before walking out of the student help point.

Today was my first day in the Tower. All my belongings were transferred to my dorm room which was separated from the main building. My school uniform was sent yesterday along with all the necessary books.

Other than my extra expenses, all the necessary things would be provided by the academy. Food, shelter, tuition, books, and other basic requirements.

Early in the morning, I reported to the Student Help Point where I was told to follow the teacher and currently I was on my way to my first class in this Tower.

My uniform consisted of a white shirt with two thin bands drawn on each wrist cuff and the Tower emblem stitched on the left pocket. A pair of dark blue formal trousers along with a blazer of the same shade that reached up to my upper thighs. The tie was optional, as per what I read in the instructions so I didn’t put it since it makes me feel stuffy.

There was a specific terminal given to each student in which all the information related to school staff, notices, emails, and many more things would be recorded. Even if a student gets a warning for some specific act it would be registered over their terminal.

Unlike mobile phones, terminals come in a bracelet-like accessory, and upon tapping at its center, a holographic screen would pop up with all the details related to the students displayed over it. A terminal has many uses. It can work as a student identity to use public transportation at a cheaper fair as well. And when being a student of the Tower every expense of transportation and stationary is covered in full.

“You must be nervous, but don’t be. All the students of Class A are pretty chill. You would enjoy yourself with them. ”

The female teacher seemed to be in her late twenties, which would have been surprising if I wouldn’t have been aware of her identity. To become a teacher at the Tower, one needs either immense talent or skill to back their proposal or experience held worth five decades and some admirable achievements alongside.

Her light brown hair tied in a ponytail swayed with each of her steps and the way she was clothed in a pair of jeans and a black shirt shows how breaking rules was nothing new for her.

One of the strongest S-ranked hunters and the only dual awakener of Japan, Kashiwagi Maki.

“I am not particularly tense. Just the introduction part feels awkward to have.”

I tried to make it obvious that I don’t want to have a detailed introduction in the class and just a formal greeting would do. I wished the teacher hears my heed but the way she evilly chuckled made me regret saying anything to her in the first place.

[Inside the classroom]

“Alright class, please welcome a late comrade of yours, Shirazawa Yuki-kun.”

Both of her arms were raised in my direction like she was presenting some magic trick and I was supposed to be the clown here.

My eyes roamed around the classroom before they briefly fell over a particular golden-eyed girl sitting in the front but soon I retracted my gaze.

“I hope we can get along.”

I tried to act natural but still, the awkwardness took over and I barely saved myself from biting my tongue. I was not stage conscious but still, when so many evaluating gazes are fixated upon you, it’s natural to get nervous.

“Sensei, if may I? ”

Suddenly a tall red-haired girl rose from her seat with a cheeky smile on her face as she got permission from the teacher to raise her question regarding me.

“Why are you enrolling late? Was bored so I thought let’s try something new? ”

Damn…what an assumption was that.

I mean, who would enroll in this prestigious place just based on their mood? Regardless of how stupid she sounded, I answered genuinely.

“I was recognized by someone recently and got a recommendation letter just some days ago. ”

I was not prohibited from mentioning Kaede’s name but creating a scene here by announcing how I got the attention of such a tremendously powerful hunter is not something I preferred at the moment.

The red-haired girl clicked her tongue and with a grumbling expression like I just gave a boring answer, she fell back on her seat.

“Any more questions?”

The teacher asked but fortunately, no one raised their hand.

“Good. Now, Yuki-kun. Choose whatever seat you want and don’t bother with the class for now. Just go through the introductory video sent to your mail, alright? ”

I nodded, before making my way toward the back of the class. Unlike my previous school where new transfer students get loaded with a shit ton of queries right off the bat, these people seemed dignified and sophisticated, who minded their own business. Ah, minus that redhead.

I tapped on my earpieces and began the video after draping my bag to the side hanger of the bench.

A small animation of the Tower Emblem emerged on the screen. The Emblem constituted a chimera roaring fiercely without any distinctive facial features. All the seven Towers in the world have their unique emblems and there is a history related to it.

But let’s not dwell on that and watch the video.

The introduction went on and on for some time, regarding the founders and how great their deeds were. I glanced around and found that everyone was busy with their work. Not necessarily everyone was listening to the lecture which was surprising since this was Class-A but there was not a speck of noise.

I focused on the video again after upping the sound since it was finally speaking something important.

[Every three months students go through an assessment test. If they pass the test with considerable marks then they would be promoted to the next floor. However, for freshmen, there won’t be any assessment for the first six months to provide the younglings some time to get accustomed to their new surroundings.]

It has already been four months since the semester began so I have only two months before the re-evaluation begins. Fortunately, I have got enough time to prepare.

[There are a total of ten floors in the Tower. Each floor consists of advanced facilities, resources, and a better learning environment than the previous one. There are a total of ten evaluation tests and if a student continues to do great in the assessment tests consistently then at the time of graduation, they would be given the highest degree of certification, i.e., The Tower Mage. There are perks for graduating on lower floors as well but a student should always pursue the greatest since this academy teaches everyone to become an existence who never fades in shadow but rather shines the brightest. ]
