Chapter 9: The Girls
“Roa-kun, you’re too kind. It’s not good, you know? You shouldn’t indulge someone as worthless as me. I might get the wrong idea that things could go back to how they used to be.”
In a dimly lit room, Lilia, wrapped in a pure white negligee, spoke vacantly to her handmade Roa-kun doll.
Lilia took delight in replaying the words Roa had directed at her before leaving the room, going over them again and again in her mind.
“You called me ‘Lilia-oneechan,’ didn’t you? Is that okay, Roa-kun? Can I still be your big sister? Is it really okay?”
She shook the Roa-kun doll, seeking an answer, but naturally, the doll couldn’t speak, so no answer came.
“…Roa-kun called me ‘oneechan’ again… So I must respond by being a big sister, right? I’ll never betray you again, Roa-kun. Never, ever…”
She repeated the vow to herself, as if engraving it into her soul, that she would never hurt Roa again.
If there ever came a time when she did hurt Roa… She stopped that train of thought.
“Never again, because there’s no way I would hurt Roa-kun.”

“Roa, I’m going crazy. I love you too much to stop. Roa, you hear me, Roa?”
There was a rustling shadow in the research room. Curled up like a cat, she pressed clothes that had Roa’s scent against her nose, her fingers extending to her lower body.
“It’s because you’re too kind, Roa. I’m not the one who’s wrong.”
Ellie had feared most being rejected by Roa. She thought she deserved to be rejected after all she’d done.
That’s why she planned to take her own life, suffering even more than Roa, after being rejected by him.
However, when she actually met him, Roa hadn’t forgiven her but had taken steps toward her. From Ellie’s perspective, this was the most astonishing and incredibly fortunate turn of events.
Unable to contain her desire as a result, she found herself in this state.
The mind of a genius, burdened with so many expectations, had been dyed in Roa’s colors, just like Lilia’s, and she couldn’t think of anything else.
“Roa, I love you so much. So much that I’m losing my mind.”

“Roa-sama, you truly are a god.”
In a room stained red with her own blood, Aria murmured this as she knelt in a prayer-like posture.
“Even a sinner like me is granted mercy by you.”
Since regaining her sanity, Aria had inflicted harm upon herself multiple times, attempting to do more to herself than what she had done to Roa.
Although healing magic had erased any visible scars, the room soaked in blood and a jar filled with eyeballs intended to be sent to Roa made it clear just how much she had punished herself.
However, Aria realized she must not hurt herself any further.
“I don’t want Aria to get hurt.”
She engraved today’s words from Roa into her heart, melting with elation. The woman known as the “Saint” at school and perceived as dignified had a twisted expression on her face, drool dripping from the corners of her mouth.
To her, Roa was a god. To receive such caring words from him was unimaginable, especially when she thought she wasn’t even allowed to converse with him. The state of her heart was not hard to imagine.
“Roa-sama, I dedicate myself entirely to you. Ah, my revered, divine Roa-sama. I vow never to harm you again. While my body has always been yours, I swear to devote myself to you more than ever before.”
§
“Roa, I’m truly sorry. And, thank you for not abandoning someone as worthless as your childhood friend.”
After parting with Roa, Mia returned to the school dormitory and secluded herself in her room.
All that occupied her mind was Roa. No, her mind was completely shut off to anything but Roa.
“Roa, Roa, Roa, Roa, Roa, Roa. I’ll serve you for the rest of my life. Because that’s only natural, right? I’ve caused you suffering enough to kill you, so it’s only right that I devote myself to you until I die.”
She kissed the stuffed animal Roa had given her when they were young, her cheeks flushed.
“Roa, I will never let anything like that happen again. I won’t harm you ever again. I won’t make any more mistakes.”
