The morning of the first day of school. The thighs peeking out from the skirt were white. Part -1.
Soft swaying.
A gentle motion rouses me from my light slumber.
The sunlight filtering through my closed eyelids is dazzling.
Even in my half-awake state, I slowly open my eyes. Before me, a face I’m familiar with yet still startles me—a face too perfect to be real—fills my vision.
“…Are you awake?”
With eyes that still seem sleepy, I give a small nod. It’s too early in the morning to be confronted with such a heart-stopping face.
Seems she was shaking my shoulder to wake me, while I lay sprawled on the bed. She’s kneeling beside it, peering down at me.
“What’s this? You’re like a child.”
I’m laughed at, mockingly.
But I’m not awake enough to feel embarrassed. I sit up and cross my legs.
In my hazy state, my gaze settles on Sajou-san, her eyes always seeming lifeless, with a face that’s too beautiful.
However, there’s a slight sense of discomfort.
I couldn’t quite grasp it in my drowsy state, but my gaze lingers on her ample chest, and I understand. I tilt my head.
“Why are you wearing a school uniform…?”
“Huh?”
A question slips out from my still-closed mouth. Sajou-san’s response is cold. It’s scary.
A low voice resonates from her throat, sending a shiver down my spine.
Her pitch-black eyes seem to hold a hint of disappointment, as if she truly can’t understand.
She tightens her lips and shows her displeasure.
Oh, right. Why is Sajou-san wearing a school uniform…?
I have an idea. I clap my hands together.
“Are you cosplaying?”
“Do you want to die…?”
It seems I was wrong.
Half of Sajou-san’s face is shadowed, and her expression is unreadable.
Her mood has taken a nosedive from the moment I woke up. Maybe if I make another mistake, she’ll dunk me in a cold bath with ice. I can just imagine it. I’m going to die.
But wait a minute.
As I feel sweat different from what I get from sleeping run down my back, I desperately try to remember what happened yesterday.
Yes. I remember being buried in…no. It was an unforgettable, incredibly happy memory, but what I need now is the reason why Sajou-san changed into a school uniform this morning.
Huh? Hmm…
“Oh, right. Are we going to school together?”
“Did you forget?”
Accusatory.
I hurriedly try to explain to Sajou-san, who is pouting with her lower lip.
“No, I didn’t forget…okay? I just took a bit of time to recall because it was right after waking up, you know? It’s like the loading screen of the first PlayStation.”
“…PlayStation? I don’t get it.”
I thought it was a pretty easy-to-understand analogy, but Sajou-san didn’t seem to like it. Why not? It’s like the first PlayStation. I love the sound of the disc spinning.
