We are pretending....right? - Chapter 15- Surprising facts!
“I think it won’t be a good idea if I go into your room.”
Sumire came to an abrupt halt in her steps when she felt the warm sensation on her wrist and his heavy voice reaching up to her.
“Ah.”
It didn’t take long for Sumire to climb out of her daze as she realized what she was about to do. She was about to contradict the same thing she was being utterly cautious about.
Maybe it was the exotic food or the easygoing nature of Sou, which made Sumire so relaxed in his presence and thus such a bold step she was about to partake in.
To actually invite a boy into her room when they were alone no less… Indeed Sumire needs to calm down at times.
“I-I am s-”
“Beside…”
Sumire yelped in surprise when suddenly Sou pulled her back on the couch, just beside him before whispering in a voice that only she was able to hear.
“…if I really want to do something with you, then nothing would stop me from doing it here…”
A shiver ran across Sumire as she didn’t dare to turn her head and look at Sou for both to hide her blush and also to not elevate the scene by inching close to him.
The room was settled in deep silence for more than half a minute, with just two beating hearts signifying the room was still occupied. Neither Sou said anything nor Sumire responded as they sat without an inch of movement.
Sou was able to feel the fastening heart of the girl which was leaping higher past each second and also the sense of shock running across her body being so intimate with him so suddenly. He was not a sadist…on normal occasions so he decided to back away.
“Do you want some coffee?”
Sou got up from the couch before he walked to the kitchen, leaving the still-frozen girl at her spot. He knew he might have gone far this time but Sou was not regretting a bit of it. He wanted to make advances toward Sumire before things go out of hand.
He was never going to force himself on her but at least making her aware that he could do things at random moments was a good initiative.
Unaware of his thoughts, Sumire sighed before her eyes narrowed and glare was shot in Sou’s direction. She has never felt such a roller coaster ride in her life as she was going through during this brief house visit.
Previously he was all gentle and caring like a family member which made Sumire comfortable enough to take him to her room. And the next moment he began flirting with her like he carried two personalities or sort.
Another sigh left her lips, but this time in resignation and self-reminder that how worked up she gets even though it was just…just…slight…
‘Calm down, you stupid Sumire!’
Sumire slapped her cheeks with both her palms as she fought the urge to remember the sensation she felt being so near him. His manly scent was new to her and so was his hot breath which Sumire could still feel on her face. Everything about him was just so….irritating!
‘Who am I lying with these stupid tomato cheeks… ‘
Without even seeing herself in the mirror Sumire knew she was currently under a deep shade of blush while remembering the event which transpired some moments ago.
Shaking her head she dismissed all her thoughts for the time being before she followed Sou to the kitchen where he already began to prepare the beverage.
“I feel bad to make you do all the work.”
Sumire was genuinely ashamed to make the guest do the kitchen job when she was just standing at the side and enjoying the delicacies. But then again, her skills with cookery were not something Sumire could boast about.
She had basic knowledge and never felt the need to progress from the point and even if she did try something, then all it ended was her brother eating something either burnt or entirely tasteless food.
“Not like you were throwing a party or something here. Besides, since I have mostly imposed myself, won’t it be alright if I take care of the kitchen department.”
Sou lifted his face from the grinder to faintly smile at Sumire before he focused back on the coffee. Sumire wanted to say that he wasn’t imposing here when suddenly Sou changed the topic.
“By the way, have you thought about the Summer Festival?”
Sumire wanted to say something related to his previous statement but when he intended to not dwell on it anymore, Sumire also didn’t persist and replied in an uncertain tone.
“Dunno…maybe maid’s cafe this year as well. What about you? You’ve got any ideas?”
Might be it cliche but a cafe where waitresses roam in a typical maid uniform gathers the most attention and Sumire has heard someone talking about it for the festival.
Sou poured the coffee into two cups as he hummed for a bit with a frown contouring his face before he spoke his plan for the festival.
“Well, I might be busy with the soccer club.”
“You are in the soccer club?!”
“Well, yeah. Kind of.”
Sumire’s brows raised in surprise since she didn’t think someone who generally seems so confined would be involved in a team sport. Well, it was true as well that Sumire actually never paid much attention to Sou until the last Sunday when this all-fake relationship began.
Sou brought the coffee toward the counter which Sumire took naturally before she said, “I bet my brother would like you.”
Knowing Ryuuske’s craze for soccer she thought he might have something to chat about if he meets Sou in the future.
“Talking about your brother… I think I heard the front door being unlocked.”
Sumire blinked in perplexion before she followed Sou’s line of sight which was stuck at a single place, only to get frozen at the sight of what she was greeted with.
Her brother was standing there with his eyes wide open, making Sumire nervous as she stood up from her seat to handle the matter which surely would going to be messy. But little did she think that the first thing her brother utter out would be…
“Sou-nii?”
