The Reincarnated Minister's Second Daughter Wants To Live A Happy Life - Chapter 28
Chapter 28
“You eventually found each other.”
From the dark, a man walked out. The light illuminated his facial features.
“Mr. Isaac.”
The man nodded and approached him. Mr. Isaac had his hands in his pocket, his glasses sitting on top of his nose bridge. He looked very scholarly.
Caspian looked at his professor with confusion. The man opposite him didn’t beat around the bush anymore and tapped his shoulder. There was a gentle smile on his face.
“I’m glad you could find each other in due time. If you don’t, I’m afraid you will lose each other forever, even if fate is tying the both of you.”
“What do you mean by that, professor?”
The professor smiled and put his hands back in his pocket. He let out a deep sigh and looked up at the sky. His expression was melancholic as he started to recount those distant and bloody memories.
Caspian saw that and was puzzled. He had never met someone who was also reborn and hiding a secret. As he stared at his side profile, a thought suddenly flashed in Caspian’s mind. He was surprised, so he carefully opened his mouth.
“… Master?”
“As I expected from my one and only disciple, you have a great memory.”
“But… how?”
“In this world, everyone has his predetermined fate. You might not be able to avoid that fate, but you can change the ending set for you.”
“I don’t understand what you are saying. Are you really… my master?”
“Silly child.”
When Mr. Isaac smiled at him, Caspian felt the respect he held deep for his swordsmanship teacher. He looked at Mr. Isaac and slowly saw the similarities between them. It might be because of the difference in clothes, hairstyle, and aura, but they looked alike.
Back then, his sword teacher was a respected scholar and teacher of the arts of swords. It was said that he was also the teacher of the Crown Prince.
Because Caspian was the son of General Li, who fought long battles and led the empire to victory, the greatest swordsman quickly agreed to become Caspian’s sword teacher. With his natural foundation in swordsmanship, thanks to his father’s teachings, his master was more than happy to teach him. The Second Prince also learned under his master but only accepted Caspian as his disciple. Even the Crown Prince was only called his student but was never his disciple.
“Forgive me for not recognizing you earlier, master. It’s only fair for this disciple to receive a punishment.”
Caspian immediately clasped his hand and bowed, but Mr. Isaac shook his head and stopped him.
“There’s no need for that. We have gone through hundreds of years and don’t do that anymore. You can be at ease.”
“Thank you, master.”
But there was one thing that baffled him.
“But master, how did you know that I was reborn? I didn’t even have any idea about it.”
“As I have said earlier, everyone has his predetermined fate. Once you have died and met the King of the Netherworld, your fate is more or less set in stone.”
“But the King of the Netherworld never told me anything.”
“Child, you must have forgotten some of your memories. Anyway, the most important thing is that you found her. Weren’t you looking for her during your thousand years in the Netherworld?”
At the mention of Daisy, Caspian’s expression softened a lot, and his mouth naturally curved into a smile. He shyly nodded his head. He still can’t believe that his once wife back then was now his girlfriend. It hadn’t been an hour yet, but he felt like a long time had passed.
“I am curious about one thing, master.”
“What is it? Are you going to ask if your wife is also reborn?”
“How did you know?”
“It was written all over your face.”
“Is it that obvious, master?”
“I can even hear you thinking, what would you do if she wasn’t the Zhou MeiHua you are looking for.”
“Master….”
Mr. Isaac smiled at him warmly and nodded his head.
“Fortunately, she was one of the few who retained their original bodies, appearance, and memory just like you. You don’t need to worry about anything. What’s more important is what was inside your heart.”
“Really?”
“Mm-hmm.”
Caspian heaved a relieved sigh when he was reassured that Daisy was the Zhou MeiHua he was looking for.
Caspian and Mr. Isaac talked about many things after that, catching up on the times they had not seen each other. Caspian hesitantly parted ways with his master when only five minutes were left for the curfew in their dormitory. He ran back and waved goodbye to his master.
It turned out that his master was reborn in this world right after he died in the past. It has been a hundred years since. After being reborn, he wrote the book 《The Secrets of the Quiet Noises》. He used his real name, Qiu Shao.
Because his name wasn’t in any official records of the Imperial Family, he dared to use it as his pseudonym. He recounted all that happened during that time and published it in a book.
The sky was colored red when Caspian and Daisy were reborn into this world. Mr. Isaac saw that and felt that a new body had been reborn. He had this notion since then, so he embarked on a journey to find the two of them.
When he found them, he noticed the red thread of fate blinking in the dark. The light was very faint, and no one could see them except him. It must be because of his long life, but he was sure their thread of fate was stronger than anyone else.
He deliberately put the book in a bookstore Daisy frequented on a daily basis. She reacted somewhat more normally than his expected explosive reaction. It seemed like he worried about her for nothing.
After learning that the two of them had graduated high school and would study at the same college campus, he immediately sent his application form to Hurley College Institute. He eagerly waited for their arrival. He was delighted to see the both of them doing better than ever.
Now that he saw them getting into a relationship, he felt thrilled.
‘What does fate have in stock for the two of them?’
Mr. Isaac returned to his quarters, suddenly exhausted and having the urge to sleep deeply.
……
The next day, Daisy woke up groggily on her bed. She drank a little alcohol last night. That was her first time drinking alcohol, so she had a splitting headache.
She touched her head and groaned.
“I didn’t even drink that much… why does my head hurt like this?”
“Why did you drink when you don’t want to have a hangover in the morning?”
Right as she woke up, Camille started nagging. Daisy looked at Camille, who was in front of the mirror and was putting makeup on.
“Since when did you learn how to put on makeup?”
“Ahem! There are many tutorials on YouTube. It’s not that bad to learn one thing or two.”
Seeing that Camille was being awkward and was obviously avoiding the topic, Daisy squinted her eyes and suppressed her painful headache.
“Tell me. Are you going on a date with someone? Who, Nathan or Marco?”
“What… what are you talking about? I just… I just want to look pretty, alright?”
“Tell me honestly. Who are you seeing?”
Camille pouted her mouth and looked at Daisy through the mirror. When their eyes met, she quickly looked down. But then something hit her.
“Ey, don’t talk like that, dearest Daisy. Didn’t you know your boyfriend has been waiting for you downstairs for an hour now?”
“Boyfriend?”
Daisy tilted her head, seemingly unaware of what Camille was talking about.
Realizing that she had successfully changed the topic of their conversation, Camille grinned and beckoned for Daisy to look down from the window.
Enduring her splitting headache, Daisy sat up from her head and dragged her body to the window.
“What are you talking about? Who is my… boyfriend?! Him?!”
Daisy was shocked to see Lawrence standing below and was instantly woken up. Her eyes widened as she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
Daisy remembered that she had brought her letter yesterday. The next scene that played in her head was when she gave it to someone and even kissed him on the cheek. Her eyes grew even bigger, and she covered her mouth with both hands.
‘To whom did I confess to last night?’
Camille urged her to change clothes. There were also quite some students below, and they were giving Lawrence stares.
Daisy quickly changed her clothes and ran down to their dormitory. As today was Saturday, many students were strolling around the campus leisurely. As soon as she saw Lawrence, she waved her hand at him.
“What are you doing here?”
Her voice had a sense of urgency.
“What else should a boyfriend do other than visit his girlfriend?”
“When did I agree to be your girlfriend?”
Daisy’s face turned into an uncontrollable scowl. Before Lawrence could answer her question, another voice echoed from behind him.
“How dare you call my wife your girlfriend?”
