Volume 01 Chapter 02: Status!! Way Too Cliché…
So, here I am, sipping tea in my room and talking with Luna.
By the way, all my belongings from my Earth apartment have been transferred here. Apparently, electricity can be generated by converting magic… Well, I’ll leave the complicated stuff alone.
The internet and TV have been set up to work too, so as long as Earth doesn’t go under, I should be able to use them.
“Well, all that’s left is for you to check out your abilities. Combat training with me wouldn’t mean much, so you’ll need to learn here.”
“Got it. So, how do I check these abilities?”
“Just say ‘Status!!’”
[Name: Luna
Race: God
Status: High-Ranking God
Gender: Female
Occupation: Goddess-sama
Age: ■■■■■■■■ years
Level: 10493 HP: 34920 MP: 63820 STR: 29300 DEF: 21967 INT: 59003 AGI: 76002 LUK: 90032
Skills: Not disclosed, estimated over 10,000]
Okay, as expected of a goddess-sama. I don’t know if these stats are high or low, but her age is in the tens of millions… Fine, I’ll admit it—Luna’s a goddess.
“Why are you only staring at my age!? Be shocked by the other stats!!”
“No clue what’s standard, so I’ve got no basis to be shocked. That’s why I compared the age.”
Flawless logic.
“Hurry up and open yours!!”
“Alright.”
[Name: Kazuya Torino
Race: Former Human Base, Dungeon Manager Race
Status: Dungeon Supreme Commander cum Miscellaneous Duties
Gender: Male
Occupation: Dungeon Manager
Age: 18
Level: 5 HP: 130 MP: 690 STR: 32 DEF: 25 INT: 340 AGI: 54 LUK: 128
Unique Skills: [Otherworld Language], [Otherworld Literacy], [Earth Knowledge], [Earth Skills], [Dig There, Doggy], [Dungeon Skill Acquisition], [Designated Protection], [Instant Death Evasion and Transfer], [Erudition], [Magical Talent]…

Sorry, but I don’t see any reason to shout “Status” when I’ve got [Chantless].
I’ve got a ton of skills, huh. Luna’s stats are too high to use as a reference, so I’ve got no idea if mine are good or bad.
“Hmm, as expected from someone born on Earth—your MP and INT are insane.”
“Wait, doesn’t Earth lack magic?”
“No, it’s just not utilized. You didn’t need it to live, right?”
I see. So it’s just that there was no situation to use it.
“Since comparing with you doesn’t help, can you tell me the standard?”
“Sure, let’s go with the average for an 18-year-old male in Arrowlit…”
I interrupt Luna as she’s about to show me.
“Hold on. Why am I 18? I’m 26.”
“Obviously, we picked the age when you’re at your peak performance.”
So this goddess can even de-age people…
“Here’s the average for this world.”
[Level: 5 HP: 150 MP: 40 STR: 50 DEF: 34 INT: 30 AGI: 43 LUK: 30 Skills: Average 3-4]
Got it. My stats are about average, except for magic-related ones.
My STR is a bit lacking, but that’s to be expected. This world’s at a medieval Europe level—lots of physically demanding jobs.
But how do they calculate STR? I ask Luna…
“Oh, STR is simpler than you think. Think of STR as attack power. Subtract DEF from it, and that’s how much HP you can chip away. How many hits would it take to reduce 150 HP to 0?”
“So, about 10 hits to deplete 150 HP. A solid full-power punch could kill, huh.”
“Exactly. Though with guarding or critical hits, it’s not always that straightforward. Oh, and since you have [Universal Appraisal], try checking the goblins or slimes under your command.”
“Got it.”
I summon one goblin and one slime using the [Monster Summoning] dungeon skill. Super convenient.
Let’s explain monsters here.
Monsters can be summoned from a summoning circle in the dungeon using my magic.
The 300 DP breakdown: 50 DP each for the goblin and slime summoning circles, plus 2 DP per monster for maintenance. So, I’ve got 50 goblins and 50 slimes roaming around.
I bet the cost skyrockets for higher-tier monsters…
Let’s check their stats.
[Name: None (Can be set; requires minimum 10 DP to evolve into Unique Monster)
Race: Goblin Tribe
Status: Dungeon Defender
Gender: Male
Occupation: Goblin
Age: 1
Level: 9 HP: 400 MP: 100 STR: 90 DEF: 72 INT: 92 AGI: 72 LUK: 22
Unique Skill: [Breeding] (Can produce own race with humanoid females)
Skills: [Dagger LV1], [Shield LV1], [Group Action LV2], [Bow and Arrow LV1]]
[Name: None (Can be set; requires minimum 10 DP to evolve into Unique Monster)
Race: Green Slime Tribe
Status: Dungeon Defender
Gender: None
Occupation: Green Slime
Age: 0
Level: 11 HP: 320 MP: 120 STR: 81 DEF: 220 INT: 70 AGI: 40 LUK: 20
Unique Skills: [Soft Body] (Reduces physical damage by 50%), [Dissolving Body] (Can activate at will), [Body Freedom] (Conscious body transformation, e.g., tentacles), [Dungeon Manager’s Blessing] (Increases stats)
Skills: [Spear LV1]]
“Huh? They’re higher level than me… Also, slimes in this world are strong, huh.”
Slimes vary in strength depending on the story or game. As liquid lifeforms, they’re often immune to physical attacks unless you use magic or fire. The weak slime image is mostly thanks to Dr◯gon Quest, but even those can become legendary at level 99.
“What are you talking about? Even if they’re higher level than their summoner, their stats shouldn’t be that… pfft, what’s with these goblins and slimes!? They’ve got way too many skills!! And for their level, their MP and INT are absurd!! Earth is terrifying.”
Luna must’ve used appraisal herself, because she’s rolling with laughter at the goblin and slime stats.
Looking at their stats, I realize something. If their INT is this high, doesn’t that mean they’re smarter than humans?
“So, are these guys smarter than humans?”
I throw the question at Luna.
“Stats represent potential. Even you can’t fully tap into your abilities at any moment, right?”
“So, my INT is above the 18-year-old average, but I need to learn to make use of it?”
“Exactly. Even if you have the capacity to learn 100 things, if you haven’t learned anything, you’re worse off than someone who’s learned one thing. STR, DEF, and AGI are straightforward, but INT is different. It’s easier for humans to improve, but harder for monsters.”
I see. If I teach these guys, they could eventually handle stuff like financial calculations. First, I’ll drill some tactics into them. Without that, neither they nor I will survive.
“Well, I’m heading out. You can contact me through the mail-order system. They sell maps of this area too, so work hard. This location gets both humans and monsters, so if you play your cards right, you won’t run out of DP.”
Luna stands up, and I see her off while staying seated.
“Seriously, you’re so half-assed. Couldn’t you at least tell me about this place or the political situation?”
“Oh, where’s the fun in knowing everything upfront? Figuring it out is better for growth.”
And with that, Luna vanishes.
“So, the environment’s set up, but I have no clue about the lay of the land… Exploring on my own would be reckless. Guess I’ll hole up in the dungeon and play some games for now.”
And so, the first day passed…
