The S-Class Beautiful Sisters at My New School Somehow Got Super Attached to Me and Ended Up Becoming Yandere Without Me Even Realizing It - Chapter 52
Chapter 52
“Phew, that felt so good. I even beat my personal best, so it was awesome.”
In the end, we played three games of bowling, and of course Yuzuki-san won every single one.
But her teaching was really good, so I managed to smash my own personal best in all three games by a huge margin.
My score, which used to hover around 100 no matter what, shot past 150, and I kinda started feeling like I could get hooked on bowling.
“Once you start getting the hang of it, it’s actually pretty fun, huh. I think I get why you’re so into it now, Yuzuki-san.”
“Right? Well… the only downside is it costs kinda a lot per game. So when I get rich someday, I wanna own my own bowling alley.”
“That’s a pretty big dream.”
“Ahaha, dreams are supposed to be big, y’know. Anyway, next up—let’s hit the batting center.”
“Batting center?”
“Yup, batting center. It’s right next door, so I always go there and hit a few after bowling before heading home. You’re coming with me, obviously, right?”
“Yeah. But, uh, I’m not really confident about batting…”
“I’ll teach you. C’mon, let’s go!”
She chugged the last of her juice, tossed the empty can into the trash with a casual flick, and headed toward the counter. Yuzuki-san looked way more lighthearted than usual.
She usually came off as super outgoing, but there was always this kinda nervous vibe—like she was constantly worrying about something deep down.
Today though, I didn’t feel any of that shadow at all. Her brightness and how much fun she was having ended up making me feel happy too.
After settling the bill, we left the bowling alley and walked straight into the batting center right next door.
The moment we stepped inside, dry cracking sounds of balls being hit filled the air. When Yuzuki-san heard them, her eyes lit up with excitement again.
“Mmm, that’s such a good sound. Back in elementary school, I used to play softball.”
“Whoa, so you’ve always been good at sports, huh.”
“Moving my body just feels great, y’know. Alright, let’s hit some!”
We bought the play medals, and once again Yuzuki-san went first.
She stepped into the 100 km/h lane, slipped on the batting gloves they lent at the counter, and gripped the metal bat.
I stood behind her on the other side of the net, watching her stance.
“…Here we go!”
With a sharp swing that could’ve belonged to any guy, she smashed the ball—‘KA-KEEN!’—and a crisp, satisfying sound echoed everywhere.
“Whoa, nice hit!”
“Ehehe, pretty good, right? But since we’re here, I really wanna hit that target today.”
Way at the back of the center was a round sign that said ‘HOME RUN.’ If you hit it, you apparently got a prize.
“You’ve ever hit it before?”
“Nah, getting it all the way there is tough. But I’ve come super close a bunch of times… Here we go! Ah—damn it.”
After that, she kept swinging until the machine stopped, hitting one solid crack after another, but none of the balls reached the target.
She came out of the cage breathing a little hard.
“Haa… haa… ugh, still didn’t hit it. Okay, your turn, Tendou-kun.”
“Uh, yeah. I’ll give it a shot.”
She handed me the bat. I ducked under the net and stepped inside.
I dropped the coin in, and the machine started up.
I hurried into stance, but the ball that came flying looked way faster up close than I expected, and I couldn’t even swing.
“Heyyy, letting it go is such a waste! You gotta swing hard!”
“Th-this is actually pretty fast…”
“I can hit it, so you’ll be fine. Watch it carefully and swing.”
While fighting back the fear of this hard ball screaming straight at me, I did what she said and really focused on watching the ball.
I swung—and of course, the bat sliced through nothing but air.
“Aw, didn’t hit it.”
“That was a good swing though. But the bat’s going under the ball. Try imagining you’re swinging a little higher.”
“O-okay.”
I got set again and waited.
When the next pitch came, I pictured swinging just a bit higher and went for it.
“Ah! I hit it!”
“Nice! Nice! Timing’s perfect!”
It was a foul, but the ball actually connected with the bat.
The next one, and the one after that, also made contact, though none flew forward.
By the end of the game my hands were stinging like crazy as I stepped out of the cage.
“Ow ow ow, my fingers are killing me…”
“But you actually hit the ball, right? Hey, Tendou-kun, how about we lower the speed and make it a contest—who can hit the target first?”
“Uh, sure, but… will I even be able to send it forward at all?”
“It’s fine, it’s fine. Look, the lane next to us is slower. Let’s hit together.”
Yuzuki-san went back to the 100 km/h one, and I moved to the 90 km/h lane beside her.
We both dropped coins in, and right as the machines started, Yuzuki-san called over from next door.
“Okay, loser has to do whatever the winner says~”
“Huh? We’re betting now?”
“Nothing crazy, I promise~ If neither of us hits it, then whoever gets closer wins~”
Amid the whooshing wind and the clanking of the old machines, Yuzuki-san stayed in her stance and shouted it out loud.
Her next hit cracked beautifully and flew right toward the target area, getting sucked in close.
“Whoa!”
“Come on, Tendou-kun, ball’s coming!”
“R-right… here goes!”
The slightly slower pitch was way easier to see, and I timed it perfectly—clean contact.
With a sharp ‘KAKIN!’ the ball sailed far.
Okay, still nowhere near the target, but still.
“Eh—seriously? That was good! Looks like we’ve got ourselves a real match now.”
“All thanks to your teaching, Yuzuki-san. That one felt amazing.”
“Here comes the next one!”
“Oh, yeah.”
For a while we both swung at almost the same time, hitting back the pitches flying toward us.
When it felt like we were getting close to the end, Yuzuki-san spoke up again.
“If you win, what do you want me to do~?”
“Uh, I don’t really… maybe just buy me a drink or something.”
“Ahaha, so modest~”
“What about you, Yuzuki-san?”
“Me?”
Another crisp ‘KAKIN’ rang out. While watching where the ball went, Yuzuki-san said something.
“I want to go on another date.”
“Huh? What’d you say? Can’t hear you~”
“Nothinggg. Still thinking.”
After that we both just kept swinging in silence until the machines finally stopped.
In the end, neither of us hit the target.
I stepped out of the cage once, but Yuzuki-san stayed inside.
“Yuzuki-san, you’re still gonna hit?”
“…Yeah.”
Looking a little frustrated, she quietly dropped another coin in.
As the machine started up again and she got into stance, she stared straight ahead and muttered something else.
But the wind noise swallowed it up, and once again I couldn’t catch what she said.
“I’m definitely gonna hit it. And if I do… I wanna go on another date together.”
