The S-Class Beautiful Sisters at My New School Somehow Got Super Attached to Me and Ended Up Becoming Yandere Without Me Even Realizing It - Chapter 48-49
Chapter 48
“Huh? W-what? Why?”
“You’re acting super suspicious.”
“W-where? I’m totally normal!”
“Woman’s intuition. Just tell me the truth and I’ll forgive you, so spill—what happened?”
“N-nothing really happened…”
“We’re partners now, right? Lying or dodging stuff isn’t good when we’re working together.”
Mizuki-san kept staring right at me and wouldn’t let up.
Her intense gaze finally made me give in.
“…She suddenly confessed to me.”
“I knew it. So what’d you say?”
“W-well, before I could even answer, Ayaha-san said it was just a joke. Like she only wanted to surprise me.”
“Hmm, Ayaha totally got owned.”
“G-got owned?”
“Never mind. Why’d you keep it a secret?”
“B-because Ayaha-san asked me not to say anything. She figured even if it was a joke, if you heard she did something like that, you’d get mad.”
“Yeah, I’d definitely get mad. So, Tendou-kun, the moment she confessed… what went through your head?”
“Like…?”
“Were you happy? Did your heart race? Did you maybe think, oh crap, I might actually get a girlfriend?”
“M-Mizuki-san, your face is getting scary…”
“Well? Spill.”
“…I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel anything at all.”
“But?”
“But even if it had been a real confession, I probably would’ve turned her down.”
“Is that for real? You’re not just saying that ’cause you’re holding back for me?”
“N-no way. Ayaha-san’s nice and she’s pretty, but I just don’t know her that well yet.”
“So you’re saying if you got to know her better, you might end up liking her?”
“…I dunno about that. But right now, there’s other stuff I wanna focus on more.”
“You mean the novel?”
“Yeah. I’ve never really had any special talent or goal my whole life. I always looked up to everyone else who had club stuff or romance or something that gave them purpose. So being able to write with you like this… it’s, y’know, really fun.”
Saying it straight to her face made my cheeks heat up a little from embarrassment.
But this was the honest thought that popped into my head yesterday when Ayaha-san confessed.
“…When you put it like that, I’ve got no choice but to keep pushing, huh.”
“Yeah. So until the clubroom stuff gets sorted out, I wanna focus on the novel. O-of course I wanna keep the serialization going after that too.”
“Same here. Okay then, enough chit-chat—let’s get to work… Oh, wait. I’m gonna go grab refills on the coffee first.”
“Huh? What about the bell?”
“That thing, people don’t always hear it. It’s faster to just go tell them in person. Be right back.”
Carrying both coffee cups, Mizuki-san left the room.
❤︎
“Haaah… I’m so happy I could dieee!”
“Mizuki-chan, keep your voice down or it’ll carry upstairs.”
“Buttt—”
I leaned against the first-floor counter, squirming all over.
He said writing with me is fun.
That it’s more important than going out with Ayaha.
Awww, I’m so happy I could literally die.
“But Mizuki-chan, from what you just said… right now you can’t make any clumsy moves either.”
“H-huh? Why? That was basically a love confession to me!”
“You’re jumping way too far. Actually, he’s so caught up in how fulfilling writing feels that stuff like wanting a girlfriend is way on the back burner. So if you keep pushing things that aren’t related to writing, there’s even a chance he might start seeing you as a distraction.”
“Eh, no way… Am I a distraction?”
“I didn’t say that much. You’re surprisingly negative, Mizuki-chan.”
“Buttt, it’s Tendou-kun’s fault for being too cute!”
“Oh, okay. Anyway, here’s your coffee refills. Point is, don’t rush it. You’ve definitely got the upper hand over Yuzuki-chan right now.”
“Yuzuki… Yeah, she’s still there.”
I’ve already ranked above Ayaha (in my head).
But Yuzuki’s not someone I can let my guard down around.
I don’t know what happened lately, but she seems to have snapped out of it and gone all-in.
I’m genuinely happy as her big sister that she’s bouncing back, but I can’t let her sweep my legs out from under me because of it.
I want this happy time to last forever.
And for that, today I need to make our connection deeper, thicker.
Right.
“I gotta take his phone away.”

Chapter 49
♡
“Ahh man, being alone is so boring.”
Today Mizuki and Tendou-kun are on their date.
Even though that’s going on, I got called in by the teacher about the reading club stuff and had to explain all the progress and whatever.
After that, I came to the clubroom thinking I’d read a bit, but an empty clubroom really feels lonely.
That book’s almost finished too.
I wanted him to recommend the next one…
…Wonder what they’re doing right now.
Is it okay to text at a time like this?
Or would it just be a bother?
…But wait, this is just a date for the novel’s sake, right?
It’s not a real date or anything, so texting should be totally fine.
“So… what’re you doing right now…”
I sent the LINE, but it didn’t get read at all.
Of course Mizuki wasn’t gonna message me back, so I had no clue where they were or what they were up to.
I read alone for a while, then eventually left the clubroom and headed home.
◇
“Ah.”
On my way back by myself, I spotted the café Mizuki goes to a lot.
Come to think of it, she took Tendou-kun there the other day too.
“…No way they’d go to the same place twice, right?”
I turned toward the café anyway.
Not because I wanted to check if they were there.
Actually, it’d be better if they weren’t.
For some reason I just really wanted to know what the coffee Tendou-kun drank there tasted like.
“Welcome… Oh? Yuzuki-chan?”
“Uh, g-good evening, Manager.”
“What’s up? Coming alone is pretty rare for you.”
“W-well, just kinda. Um, Mizuki isn’t here, right?”
“Mizuki-chan? No, nope. She hasn’t come in today.”
“Okay. Um, can I get a coffee?”
While I sat at the counter and ordered, she went, “Yuzuki-chan, weren’t you bad with bitter stuff?”
I was kinda surprised she remembered even though I don’t come here as much as Mizuki.
“I wanna try it today.”
“Gotcha. Well, everyone starts stretching themselves like that to get into coffee or booze taste.”
“Do you drink, Manager?”
“Of course. Weirdly enough, once you’re an adult it suddenly starts tasting good. Funny, huh.”
She laughed while grinding the beans.
Then she glanced up real quick before looking back at me.
“Hey, Yuzuki-chan, do you like novels and stuff?”
“Me? Not at all. But lately I’ve been reading ’cause of a friend.”
“Ohh. That friend a guy?”
“Huh? W-well, yeah, I guess.”
“Hmm. So you like him, huh.”
“W-why are we suddenly talking about that?”
“’Cause—wanting to get into your crush’s hobbies is classic lovestruck girl behavior, right?”
“I-I’m not in love or anything…”
“If you keep saying stuff like that, you’re gonna regret it someday. Acting tough or trying to look cool doesn’t help at all—you only realize that later.”
“…Someone else told me almost the exact same thing recently.”
“Oh really? Maybe you’d get along with them. A guy?”
“Yeah. But he’s an old man.”
“Aww, too bad. If he was young I’d want an intro. Here’s your coffee. And eat this too.”
Along with the coffee came one of the café’s signature shortcakes.
“Huh, is this okay?”
“Yep, totally. Actually, I feel kinda bad now.”
“Bad?”
“Never mind. I’m not God or anything—I can’t treat everyone equally nice all the time.”
After saying that, the manager went to do dishes and told me “Take your time.”
Then she disappeared into the back.
❤︎
“Sorry for the wait. Okay, let’s take it slow and work. No time limit here.”
Mizuki-san came back, and we finally started working.
Like usual, I reached for my phone to start typing—
“Ah, I’m taking this.”
For some reason she snatched my phone away.
“Eh, but I need it—”
“You can use my laptop. I’ll work on this tablet.”
Mizuki-san pulled out a big tablet, a stand, and a keyboard.
“You’ve got all kinds of stuff.”
“Well, since I’m aiming to be a writer, I watch a lot of movies too. No TV in my room, so this is the substitute.”
“Nice. I only just got a phone after starting high school.”
“Having a ton of things doesn’t make a person valuable. Come on, keep cranking out those drafts. We’ve got plenty of time.”
I borrowed Mizuki-san’s laptop and got into it.
Weirdly enough, even though I barely ever use a real computer, the work was flying along.
Maybe because it felt so smooth to use, or maybe the quiet space helped.
Either way, I got completely lost in the novel and forgot about time.
Mizuki-san was glued to her screen too, super focused.
No talking at all—just how many hours passed like that?
When I finally took a break and checked the clock after getting way more done than usual—maybe double, no triple—
It was already past nine at night.
