The S-Class Beautiful Sisters at My New School Somehow Got Super Attached to Me and Ended Up Becoming Yandere Without Me Even Realizing It - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
❤︎
“See ya later!”
Early morning.
I woke up alone at a time when no one else in the family was even close to getting up, got ready quietly, and slipped out of the house.
Why’d I bother getting up this stupid early? Simple. Right now I really didn’t wanna run into Yuzuki.
Even on weekends she gets up at the same time as school days and starts working out.
She’d been in a grumpy mood ever since yesterday evening too.
If she saw me heading out to meet Tendou-kun, she’d probably just get even more pissed off.
We’re sisters, y’know? I do wanna get along with her.
I’m not trying to start drama or anything.
But.
That doesn’t mean I’m gonna hold back either.
“If Tendou-kun really is the kind of guy I think he is… sorry, Yuzuki, but…”
I narrowed my eyes against the morning sun.
Feeling the cool breeze on my face, I headed toward his house.
♤
“Asuka, Asuka, you in there?”
“Mmm… what’s up, Grandma? It’s a school holiday today, y’know.”
“You’ve got a visitor.”
“Huh? Again?”
It was barely past six in the morning. Who the heck—wait, no way.
“Grandma, don’t bother making tea!”
I jumped out of my room and rushed to the front door. Sure enough, standing there was Mizuki-san.
“Ah, morning, Tendou-kun!”
“G-good morning… uh, isn’t this kinda early?”
“Before that. I told you to drop the polite speech, remember?”
“Ah, sorry… I mean, uh, sorry. It’s just—you’re Yuzuki-san’s big sister, so you kinda feel like a senior to me.”
“Haha, do I really look more grown-up than Yuzuki?”
“Well… yeah, kinda.”
She was in casual clothes today.
That white dress made her look super mature—like, no way she’s in the same grade as us.
And yeah… she definitely didn’t look like Yuzuki-san at all.
“Hehe, I’ll take that as a compliment. Come on, hurry up and get ready.”
“Eh? We’re going out right now?”
“Of course. Let’s grab some breakfast at the café nearby.”
“O-okay… got it. I’ll go change real quick.”
I dashed back to my room, threw on some normal clothes, came out again, and headed to the entrance.
And somehow Grandma and Mizuki-san were already chatting.
“You sure you don’t wanna come in for a bit?”
“Thank you so much for the offer, Grandma. But I’m heading out with Asuka-kun now.”
“Ohhh, is that so? Take good care of my grandson, okay?”
“Of course. I’ll come visit properly next time and stay longer.”
They were smiling and talking so nicely that for some reason it made me feel kinda embarrassed, so I jumped in.
“Mizuki-san, sorry to keep you waiting. Grandma, I’m heading out!”
“Alright, be careful. Have fun, you two.”
Getting seen off by Grandma while leaving the house with a girl felt really weird.
“Sorry about that, Mizuki-san. My grandma’s super friendly with everybody.”
“She’s such a cute grandma. And really beautiful too.”
“You think so? So… where are we going exactly?”
“The café right over there. I go there sometimes to read while having tea.”
The place she pointed out had kinda old-looking outside.
“Wow, there’s a spot like this so close? Never noticed.”
“It’s on the opposite side from school, so it makes sense you wouldn’t know. I’m local, so…”
We went inside.
The inside had this calm, relaxed vibe too, and there weren’t any other customers yet.
“Welcome—oh, bringing a friend today?”
As soon as we sat at the window seat, a woman in a white shirt with a sarong tied around her waist brought us water.
“Good morning, Manager. Yeah, he’s my classmate.”
“How nice. Same as usual?”
“Yes, and the same for him too, please.”
“Got it.”
The woman they called Manager gave me a quick wink before heading back inside.
“You’re a regular, huh.”
“The lady just now is the manager here. None of my classmates come to this place, so it’s nice and quiet. I’ve been coming for a long time. Oh, I ordered for you without asking, but the coffee here is really good, so I wanted you to try it.”
“Oh, cool. I don’t actually drink coffee much, so I’m kinda looking forward to it.”
“There you go with the polite talk again.”
“Ah, s-sorry.”
“Hehe, kidding.”
She giggled quietly and I scratched my cheek, feeling a bit shy.
While I was glancing around the shop a little,
“Hey.”
Mizuki-san suddenly asked me in a slightly serious voice.
“How do Yuzuki and I look different to you?”
“Huh? Umm… I mean, you’re totally different people, so…”
“But most people can’t really tell us apart clearly. Isn’t there something—some feature that stands out?”
“Hmm… feature-wise, uh, you guys are completely different though.”
“…Completely?”
“Yeah. Your voices are a tiny bit different, the way you hold yourself, the way you walk. Even the way you laugh feels different to me.”
We’re alike, sure, but to me you two look like totally separate people.
I just said it exactly like that, nothing fancy.
But Mizuki-san froze, eyes wide open like she’d just seen a ghost.
“…Completely different.”
“Uh… did I say something bad?”
“N-no, it’s not that. Yeah… you really are interesting, aren’t you.”
“Interesting?”
“Never mind. Hey, do you like books?”
“Y-yeah. Pretty much, yeah.”
“Same here. Guess we might actually get along pretty well.”
When Mizuki-san smiled this time, her face looked brighter and more relaxed than I’d ever seen.
Right after that the Manager brought our coffees over.
“This might be kinda weird to do with coffee, but… cheers.”
“C-cheers.”
We clinked the coffee cups together with a small clink.
I took a sip.
A unique kind of bitterness slowly spread across my tongue.
