Episode 42: Chocolate Pie

Now then, earlier I gave them Chocolate Pie Bites snack, but well—

“Actually, I’ve brought one more for today.”

There was still another, different snack tucked inside the convenience store bag.

Originally, I’d only planned to buy the chocolate pie snacks, but as it fell onto my sight, I couldn’t resist and grabbed this one too along with it.

“Eh? Another one… Don’t tell me, Yohei-kun, are you still hiding something in there? Now this is such a dilemma, really.”

“S-Stop already, mouu~. If I eat any more than this, my weight’s may really gonna be in a tough spot…!”

“Then… should I not bring it out?”

As I thought that maybe we really ate too much today, and tried to withhold the other treat from exposing, both of them spoke up in unison, reaching out for the bag immediately. Whatever the reason, it seems neither could resist the temptation of sweet-treats after all.

“If you continue to be so kind to me, I would become so happy that I wouldn’t know what to do anymore… is what I wanted to say.”

“My weight might seriously be in danger, but dessert goes to a different stomach… Kami sama, please forgive my insolence~”

Alright then, without holding back.

With their consent taken I full, what I pulled out this time, is the —Chocolate Pie.

“Fueh? This, is this the same one as the other snack from before… The name is similar.”

“But the shape’s very different, right~? Arre~? What’s going on really~?”

They both tilted their heads as they inspected the white box packaging.

Since the name was similar to the Chocolate Pie Bites, they must’ve thought they were the same kind of treat.

But of course, they were obviously completely different from each other.

“They’re both are chocolate-type snacks, ad have similar names too, but they’re totally different. Please do try this out as well. Cause, even this one’s really popular among the public as well.”

When I was a kid, I was always thrilled whenever chocolate pies showed up at snack time. Even now, I still tend to buy this treat quite regularly—so, I really wanted them to experience the same feeling, as I did back then, thus bought it.

“Is it really okay!? Thank you very much… I’m so excited about this♪”

“I-I’ll just have myself a little, okay? If I eat any more, it’ll be really bad, but… I–if it’s j-just a little!”

And with that, I opened the box and took out the individually wrapped pies. One for Sei-san, and another I unwrapped myself before gently handing it to over to Hime.

As I was thinking whether she would again dive right on my hand like she did before, but this time she seemed a little more composed—bringing her big, round eyes close to inspect it carefully.

“This is… it’s completely different from the Chocolate Pie Bites. It’s coated in chocolate, and the inside… fumu~fumu~, I guess it’s hard to figure out without tasting it.”

Saying that, Hime opened her mouth to take a bite of that chocolate pie—

But well, it seems she’s extremely pleased with how it tasted.

Although she was still trying to eat it. But since I thought, she would have trouble eating if it were still like that… Thus I broke the pie into smaller pieces and held one out to her mouth.

As I thought, she accepted my kind gesture with a happy and cheerful smile.

After which, as if she would eat up my fingers along with it, she gently bites into the piece along with my fingers.

Watching her savor the sweet treat made me feel warm and fuzzy inside as well.

After all, her face showed that much bliss just by looking at it——.
