The Otherworld Was Way Too Brutal – After I Healed the Mutilated Girl, She Turned Into a Completely Obsessed Yandere Guard Dog - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Next morning.
When I woke up, Tsugumi’s face was right there in front of mine.
“……Whoa.”
I yelped and jerked back without thinking.
Tsugumi was lying next to me, just staring straight at my sleeping face the whole time, apparently.
Her skin looked pure white and super smooth thanks to yesterday’s healing.
In the morning sunlight, it almost glowed like something holy.
“Morning, Jin.”
“M-morning… How long have you been awake?”
“The whole time. Watching your sleeping face.”
Tsugumi said it totally straight-faced, no shame at all.
Whole time probably meant hours.
Kinda embarrassing, honestly.
When I tried to sit up and get ready, Tsugumi grabbed the hem of my shirt.
“……You’re leaving?”
“Yeah. Work again today.”
“To that Ray guy’s place?”
Her voice dropped a little, I think.
She never really seemed to like Ray much.
Or more like, she didn’t like me paying attention to anything outside at all.
“Yeah. We’ve got plans.”
“……Is there a girl there too?”
A girl.
She meant Leia.
I gave a small wry smile and patted Tsugumi’s head.
“You mean Leia? Yeah, she’ll probably be there, but it’s strictly work stuff, okay?”
“……Hmm.”
Tsugumi puffed out her cheeks like she was sulking, but she didn’t try to stop me anymore.
She let go of my hand and just stared up at me.
“Come back quick, okay… I’ll be waiting.”
“Yeah, I’ll try to hurry.”
I left the house feeling kinda tugged back by her.
When I got to Ray’s place, he was already geared up and waiting.
His sister Leia was there too.
“Morning, Jin. You’re looking pretty good today.”
“Morning, Ray. Actually, there’s something I wanna show you.”
“Show me?”
I glanced at Ray’s right shoulder—the stump where his arm used to be.
There was this old, burned-up-looking scar tissue that he said still hurt sometimes.
“Ray, can I touch that scar on your shoulder for a sec?”
“The arm? Sure, I guess…”
Ray held out his shoulder, looking puzzled.
I pressed my hand to the cut-off part.
Just like with Tsugumi yesterday, I gathered my magic power.
I aimed for the old, stuck-together scar tissue and the damaged nerves still inside.
“Ugh… hot!?”
The light wrapped around his shoulder and he let out a surprised noise.
His face scrunched up from the pain.
But right after, that expression flipped to pure shock.
“The pain… it’s fading…?”
The light pulled back.
When I took my hand away, there was fresh pink healthy skin where the nasty burn-like scar used to be.
Of course the arm didn’t grow back.
But the ugly scar was gone, and smooth skin covered the whole stump now.
“Th-this is…”
Ray touched his own right shoulder with his shaking left hand.
“It’s… smooth… And that constant dull ache is gone…”
“That’s level 2 for you. Old scars are fixable now too.”
When I said that, Leia covered her mouth like she was about to cry.
“Big brother… that’s amazing…!”
“Yeah… Jin, you really…”
Tears were welling up in Ray’s eyes.
The phantom limb pain, the old wound pain that’d been torturing him.
The joy of being free from that had to be huge for him.
But even more than that, what they were feeling right now was hope.
“If you can heal it this clean… once the level goes up more, maybe you really could…”
“Yeah. Maybe I could bring the arm back.”
Ray nodded hard at my words.
The hopeless look he used to have was gone from his eyes.
Now they burned with real fighting spirit.
“Let’s go, Jin. I’m fired up now. We’re heading a bit farther out today.”
“Bring it on.”
We headed outside the town.
Target today was an area just a notch more dangerous than yesterday.
We pushed deeper into the forest.
Damp air, the smell of magic beasts everywhere.
Tension prickled my skin.
“Hold up.”
Ray whispered to stop us.
There was a big black shadow behind the bushes.
“Bristle Boar. Way stronger charge than Almirage. If it hits you square, your bones are toast.”
Huge pig.
Its bristles stuck out sharp like needles, and its tusks were thick as my thigh.
Totally different weight class from what I’d fought before.
“You wanna take it?”
“Hell yeah.”
I readied my knife and jumped out from the bushes.
“Bumoooooo!!”
The Boar spotted me and charged like a freight train.
Felt like a boulder rolling right at me.
My legs almost froze.
But now I had insurance.
(If the bones break, I can heal ’em!)
That thought numbed the fear.
No more just dodging.
I could let it cut my flesh and break my bones if it meant getting a killing blow.
I waited till the last second—then deliberately didn’t dodge all the way, raising my left arm like a shield.
Crack!
A nasty sound rang out.
Sharp pain exploded through my left arm.
I knew the bone snapped.
But the impact made the Boar’s body lift just a tiny bit.
“Ooooooh!!”
I screamed the pain out and slammed my right-hand knife straight between its eyes.
Hard skull under the blade.
I shoved with everything I had.
Zup—the knife sank all the way into its brain.
The Boar spasmed, then its massive body crashed down.
“Haa… haa… guh…!”
I dropped to my knees right there, cradling my broken left arm.
Bent in a way arms aren’t supposed to bend.
Sweat poured down my face.
It hurt.
Hurt like hell.
“Jin! You reckless idiot!”
Ray ran over.
I breathed hard and held my right hand over my left arm.
“……!”
Light wrapped the arm.
This gross feeling of bones shifting around inside.
Grinding, crunching—the broken pieces forced back into place.
At the same time, fresh agony ripped through me.
“Ggaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!”
But it only lasted a second.
Then the pain faded fast.
A few seconds later.
When the light died down, my left arm was back to normal.
I flexed it.
No weird feeling at all.
“……Haha, it really worked.”
“You… even if you can heal it, that still hurts like crazy, right?”
“Get used to the pain and this is the surest way.”
I stood up and looked down at the Boar’s corpse.
I took down a beast this strong all by myself.
Huge confidence boost.
But man, the fatigue hit hard too.
Healing a fracture apparently drained way more stamina than a scratch.
I felt a little dizzy.
“That’s enough for today. If you run out of mana and collapse, we’re screwed.”
“Yeah… but I felt it. Real progress.”
I checked my status.

・Healing Magic <Repair Evolve>
Lv1. Stops bleeding.
Lv2. Treats wounds and fractures.
Lv3. *********

Still not level 3.
But the garbled part was definitely getting thinner.
Keep hunting stronger magic beasts at this rate, and level up wouldn’t be far off.
“Let’s head back, Ray. Grilled meat tonight.”
“Haha, yeah. Leia’ll be happy too.”
We cut off the Boar’s tusks and some meat, then started the walk home.
