The Otherworld Was Way Too Brutal – After I Healed the Mutilated Girl, She Turned Into a Completely Obsessed Yandere Guard Dog - Chapter 13.2
Chapter 13.2
She’d spotted Cattleya stepping in behind me.
“…Who’s that?”
The air in the room dropped like ice.
Tsugumi’s voice came out low and shaky.
The light vanished from her eyes, replaced by this dark, murky color that spread fast.
“Uh, Tsugumi, let me introduce her. This is—”
“Cattleya.”
While I fumbled, Cattleya stepped forward and spoke up herself.
She looked Tsugumi straight in the eye and bowed deeply.
“Starting today, I’m in charge of security for this house and acting as Jin’s bodyguard. Nice to meet you.”
“…Bodyguard?”
Tsugumi tilted her head.
She stared Cattleya up and down, sizing her up.
Cattleya’s perfect features.
Healthy arms and legs.
A woman who had everything Tsugumi didn’t.
Tsugumi’s face twisted.
“Don’t need her.”
Straight-up rejection.
“Jin doesn’t need a bodyguard. I’m here. We’ve always been fine just the two of us.”
“Tsugumi, it’s not that simple.”
I moved closer to her side.
I had to calm her down.
“Work’s piling up. I can’t handle it all by myself anymore.”
“Work like hunting magic beasts?”
“Yeah, exactly. So I’m getting some help.”
It wasn’t a lie.
To level up, I had to keep hunting magic beasts.
“But… she’s a woman?”
“She’s a work partner. Nothing more, nothing less.”
“Liar.”
Tsugumi glared at me with teary eyes.
“That person’s got a pretty face. Her body’s all there too. You like her more than me, don’t you?”
“No way in hell!”
I shot it down hard.
I grabbed Tsugumi’s remaining right hand and squeezed tight.
“You’re number one to me. That’s never gonna change. This person’s just here to help me heal you—that’s it.”
“To… heal me?”
“Yeah. To level up, I need to take down stronger magic beasts. But I’ve hit my limit doing it alone. That’s why she’s helping.”
I kept talking, desperate to convince her.
Tsugumi’s tension eased a little.
But she still didn’t look fully convinced.
She glared at Cattleya.
“…Hey, you over there. Do you like Jin?”
Way too direct.
My heart almost stopped.
Cattleya’s eyes widened for a second in surprise.
But she quickly went back to a straight face and answered.
“If you mean romantic feelings—no. I owe him a debt, and I’m only here on my lord’s orders.”
“…Debt?”
“Yeah. He healed the scars on my face.”
Cattleya touched her own cheek.
“He saved me. So now I swing my sword for him. That’s all.”
There was no lie in Cattleya’s words.
Just knightly pride and pure gratitude.
Maybe that got through to Tsugumi too.
“…Okay.”
Tsugumi mumbled it softly.
But right after, she grabbed my shirt tight.
“But not at night.”
“Huh?”
“When it’s time to sleep, it’s with me. She sleeps on the floor.”
That was insane.
I couldn’t make a guest sleep on the floor.
“No, come on, that’s too much… it’s not fair to Cattleya-san…”
“It’s fine.”
Cattleya cut in.
She pointed to the corner of the room near the door.
“I’ll sleep right there. Closer to the entrance means I can react fast if anyone breaks in.”
“But still…”
“Don’t worry about it. For a knight, having a place to sleep that isn’t a battlefield is more than enough. Besides…”
Cattleya glanced over at Tsugumi.
Her lips curved just a tiny bit.
“I’ve got no intention of taking away the spot where she waits for her master to come home.”
Guess Cattleya was trying to be considerate in her own way.
She set her stuff down in the corner.
Then she quickly spread out a single blanket.
It looked like that was her space now.
And just like that, this weird cohabitation life started.
Me, a girl without arms or legs, and a fully armed beautiful female knight—all crammed in one tiny room.
Super bizarre scene.
I made a simple dinner and we ate together, the three of us.
Cattleya said the soup was good and quietly finished it all.
Tsugumi let me feed her while sneaking suspicious little glances at Cattleya every few seconds.
After dinner.
Cattleya sat in her corner and started maintaining her sword.
I wiped Tsugumi’s body down and got her into bed.
“…Jin.”
“Yeah?”
“You’re not going anywhere, right? Promise?”
Under the covers, Tsugumi clung to me tight.
The anxiety hadn’t gone away yet.
“Yeah, I’m not going anywhere.”
“Promise…”
“Promise.”
I stroked Tsugumi’s head.
Then patted her back gently, like I was soothing her.
Pretty soon, her breathing evened out into sleep.
I tried to slip out of bed, but Tsugumi was still gripping my shirt and wouldn’t let go.
I gave up and just lay back down.
The room light was off.
Only moonlight came in.
In the quiet, I heard the faint rustle of clothes.
“…You’re kind.”
It was Cattleya.
My eyes adjusted to the dark.
I could tell she was looking over at me.
She’d finished with her sword and was leaning against the wall.
“Just doing it for my own peace of mind.”
“Really? You don’t go that far just for yourself.”
Cattleya said it quietly.
“The reason you wanna get stronger… it’s for that girl, right?”
“…Yeah. I wanna get her arms and legs back. That’s why I need to level up.”
“I see… That’s some solid resolve.”
Cattleya nodded like she got it.
“I’ll help you, Jin. Your goal, my mission, and my personal debt to you—our interests line up.”
“I’m counting on you, Captain.”
“Drop the captain. Just Cattleya’s fine.”
She said that and closed her eyes.
“Tomorrow we start early. If we’re gonna level up efficiently, that dull body of yours won’t cut it.”
“…Go easy on me, please.”
I gave a wry smile.
Training with her before had been rough already.
But getting drilled by an active knight captain? That was gonna be brutal.
Still, bring it on.
I called up my status in my head.

Next up was level 3.
What the hell was I gonna be able to do then?
And how far did I have to go before I could regenerate missing limbs?
The road ahead looked rough.
But I wasn’t alone.
I had Tsugumi, Ray, and now Cattleya too.
Feeling the warmth of Tsugumi sleeping next to me, I sank into a deep, heavy sleep.
