- Chapter 69: Kansai Guy, Teaching the Class.
Kansai Guy, Teaching the Class.
The fun weekend with Shi-chan came to an end.
School was now one week away from final exams, and the atmosphere had turned just a little frantic.
That aside, today I was once again eating lunch with Mio-chan and the others.
“Mio-chan, I took a bath with Dai-chan too. It was super fun!”
glk!?
Rinko-san choked. I’m right here, you know… Is it really okay to be that open about it?
cough “A little discretion, please… Tennouji-kun is sitting right there…?”
“But it’s Dai-chan? He’s my boyfriend and Mio-chan’s boyfriend.”
“I’m still not his girlfriend, though?”
“Fufu, Rin-chan said ‘still,’ didn’t she?”
“Mio…?”
Yeah, the way that was phrased definitely sounds like she plans to become my girlfriend eventually. Of course I’d be overjoyed if Rinko-san did, but…
“Dai-chan would be happy if Rin-chan became his girlfriend too, right?”
“Yep. Of course. I’d welcome Rinko-san with open arms… but is it really okay to say that right in front of her?”
“Welcome…!? W-Wait just a— deep breath…”
“Rin-chan?”
“This conversation is over.”
“Ehhh, whyyy!?”
“Shi-chan, Rin-chan needs a little more time, okay?”
“Uuu…”
Rushing her won’t do any good. Naturally, I’ll treasure Shi-chan and Mio-chan, but I want Rinko-san to join us too. I’ve decided I’m going to make all three of them happy.
Those three heroines the NTR hardcore fans, with their thousand-plus hours of playtime, could never save. Drug addiction, double suicide, actual suicide… what the hell kind of scenarios were those?
Everything has been going smoothly so far… except Rinko-san is still holding back. There’s still time. In the original game, you’re supposed to officially get together by Christmas, confirm your love, and spend happy days with Imamiya.
But once the new year begins, the scenario flips—Tennouji (me) shows up to steal the heroines from Imamiya. Whether Imamiya tries to take them back or some random third-party homewrecker appears, nobody knows. I can’t let my guard down. I won’t know until it happens.
Until then, I want Rinko-san by my side if at all possible. I can’t exactly push her myself, though…
“By the way, we’re doing the study group again this time, right, Rin-chan?”
“Of course. Everyone’s joining… right?”
“Obviously! I wanna score high again this time!”
“I’d like to aim even higher myself.”
“Being on the teaching side isn’t half bad, so count me in again.”
“Thank goodness. Then let’s get started today.”
Rinko-san’s study sessions. I think I’ll stay on the teaching side again this round too. Teaching helps me solidify my own knowledge, so I’ll go all out helping Shi-chan and the rest of the class without holding anything back.
“Mmm, today’s salted grilled saury is delicious!”
Once again I’m in bliss thanks to Mio-chan’s lunch. Anyone who could get tired of this… simply doesn’t exist.

“Alright, let’s start preparing for the finals. We’ll begin with English today.”
Rinko-san’s study group officially began. About ten people again this time. Imamiya… huh, he’s not here. After what happened with Mio-chan the other day, he’s obviously in no position to show his face. If he did, that would mean he has nerves of steel.
“Sorry to do this right after starting, but I need to step out for a moment. Tennouji-kun, could I ask you to take over? I’ll be right back.”
“Sure thing. Go ahead.”
Rinko-san hurried out of the classroom in small, quick steps. She seemed in a rush—was something wrong?
“Looks like Rin-chan got called out by another guy again.”
“Ah.”
Right, Rinko-san is insanely popular with the boys. Especially among classmates and upperclassmen. This time it’s probably another love letter and confession. Personally it leaves a complicated taste in my mouth, but… if Rinko-san would rather date some other guy than me—no, that’s not it. I really do want her by my side…
“Daiki-kun, are you worried about Rin-chan?”
“Yeah… Maybe I should just confess already.”
“It’ll be fine. Rin-chan will probably turn him down and come right back.”
“You think so?”
“She just needs a little more time to work up her courage. I’m sure Rin-chan will be the one to confess to you, Daiki-kun.”
“You’re not allowed to beat her to it, okay?”
“Rin-chan actually loves Dai-chan a whole lot, you know~”
“Really…?”
“Yep! She tells us everything during girl talk!”
I can’t exactly barge into their girl talk, and if Shi-chan and Mio-chan both say so, then I guess all I can do is wait.
But when the time comes, I’ll make my move. I’m the one who’s going to make all three of them happy.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Before long, Rinko-san returned, her expression perfectly calm, as if nothing had happened.
“Rin-chan, you okay?”
“Mio? Yes, don’t worry.”
“Rin-chan, how did it go?”
“Shina. I turned him down. He was a good person, though.”
She glanced at me as she said that, but I pretended not to notice and kept helping Tsumura-kun with his problems.
“I see~ Keep fighting, Rin-chan!”
“R-Right…”
And so the study session continued in that kind of atmosphere.
By Wednesday, three girls from another class started peeking nervously through the classroom door every now and then.
“Hm?”
“U-Um…”
“Oh? Who might you be?”
“We’re from Class E… We heard Fuyuki-san’s study group is really good, and… if it’s okay, could we maybe join…?”
Wow, so Rinko-san’s sessions have spread to other classes by word of mouth. It makes sense—Shi-chan made a huge leap, Mio-chan entered the single-digit ranks, and almost everyone else saw big improvements on the midterms.
“Ah, Saki-chaaan!”
“Kuu-chan! Ehehe, thanks for inviting us! B-But…”
“They’re Kuzuha-san’s friends, right? Tennouji-kun, what do you think?”
“I’m totally fine with it. They came all this way—perfect chance to show off your teaching skills, Rinko-san.”
“…All right. Come on in.”
“Thank you so much!”
And just like that, we started looking after students from another class too. Fortunately, these three weren’t struggling that badly, so they were easy to teach.
“By the way, doesn’t Class E have its own study group?”
When Rinko-san asked, the three exchanged awkward glances before answering uncomfortably.
“They do, but… the person teaching is the problem. Whenever someone asks a question, it’s always ‘How can you not solve something this easy?’ or ‘You don’t even understand this?’…”
That’s a complete failure as a tutor. And if the organizer is the one acting like that, the whole group falls apart. It reminds me of Imamiya making Shi-chan angry. Apparently he bolts out of homeroom at Mach speed these days. Well, whatever.
“Plus, they kept saying stuff like ‘If Fuyuki can do it, there’s no way I can’t,’ and it felt like they were super fixated on you. They suddenly announced a study group, so we joined, but the atmosphere was awful.”
“It’s good to be motivated, but teaching with that kind of superiority complex won’t help anyone improve. Don’t worry about it here—just relax and study with us. Today is math.”
“Y-Yes! Thank you!”
Rivalry with Rinko-san is one thing, but poisoning the atmosphere is another. Could it be some of them actually hold a grudge against her?
“Tennouji-kun, I’m sorry, but could you look after our class while I handle these three?”
“Leave it to me~”
While teaching Shina-chan, Tsumura-kun, and the others, all sorts of thoughts ran through my head.
If they think they can run a proper study group just because Rinko-san does, they’re dead wrong. She puts an insane amount of thought into these sessions. She’s been single-handedly teaching groups of ten or more this whole time.
She genuinely doesn’t want anyone to fail—she wants everyone to improve. That’s why the students grow, and that’s why Rinko-san works so hard.
I really respect her.
“Tennouji-kun, mind if I borrow you for a second?”
“Sure thing~ Oh, once you finish that problem, let’s take a short break. Rest is important too.”
“Got it, thanks!”
I stayed in full support mode for Rinko-san.
Neither she nor I had noticed yet that malice was quietly creeping closer to her.
