Why? How come? …There shouldn’t have been any attack. That thing didn’t even move.

While I desperately tried to think, I noticed that the surroundings lit up slightly.

“I see… we’ve been had.”

The dragon in front of us had been releasing scales. Tiny, transparent ones that no one could notice.

It wasn’t that it didn’t move. It didn’t need to move.

Because the moment it recognized us as prey, the battle was already decided in the dragon’s mind.

“Cough! Cough! …ugh!?”

My throat burned painfully. My body started to numb, and I fell to my knees, inhaling poison, causing my vision to blur.

Probably, none of us will survive.

“Can… everyone still move?”

I asked the three of them.

“Barely…”

“Yes…”

“Somehow…”

All three could still move. Probably, this was going to be our last moment.

“Girls… Shall we strike back one last time?”

I asked again, knowing none of us might make it.

“Well, it can’t be helped.”

“I really don’t want to die!!”

“Carla, you should brace yourself too.”

Carla sighed, but she seemed ready to face what was coming.

Everyone prepared themselves for the worst, stood up again, and readied their weapons.

In an instant, the Mad Azure Dragon moved for the first time, probably with a sweeping strike of its front legs. 

We were all blown away similarly.

Already weakened by the poison, and hit by an attack far stronger than that of the Green Dragon, we could no longer stand.

Ah, I can’t move. I guess we’re all going to die soon.

“Heh…”

Faced with this hopeless reality, I couldn’t help but laugh.

Slowly, the Mad Azure Dragon approached… I closed my eyes to accept death.

—BOOM!!

Startled by the sudden loud noise, I opened my eyes… and saw an unbelievable scene before me.

“Eh?”

I let out a dumbfounded exclamation. It was that unbelievable. 

The dragon that had been approaching was now blown away, and instead, there stood a person in a black robe and white pants, looking right at us.

Wearing a mask with a white smile.
