The Genius, Naturally Angel-Sama, Marin Shiozaki, Also Known as 'The Three Heavens Beauty,' Submits a Marriage Registration Without My Permission, and Before I Knew It, I've Become the Angel's Husband - 04 - Alone Together
Alone Together
After waking up, I found myself staring blankly at Shiozaki-san as she started cooking, but before I knew it, drowsiness overtook me, and I ended up falling asleep on the sofa.
When I suddenly woke up, I saw Marin-chan standing in the kitchen.
Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I made my way to the kitchen, and there stood Shiozaki-san in her apron. “Wow! You startled me! Did I wake you up?” she said, looking surprised.
“No… I’m fine,” I replied.
“Hey, how do I look? Do I look cute in this apron?” she asked.
“Um… yeah. You look cute,” I said.
“Ehehehehe… Aoi-kun looks cool too, you know?” she said, her face turning bright red.
Maybe it was because I had just woken up, but my usual filter seemed to be broken, and my thoughts spilled out without hesitation.
Well, maybe only someone like her would get excited hearing words like “cute” from a background character like me.
“Ah… thanks,” I replied, feeling a bit embarrassed to be called cool by such a pretty girl.
“You can sit on the sofa, Aoi-kun,” Shiozaki-san insisted.
“Huh? But…”
“It’s okay, it’s okay! Go ahead!” she insisted, practically pushing me onto the sofa.
And so, I found myself staring at the TV. Just having this time to relax at home was already a source of happiness for me.
But seriously, thinking about the fact that Shiozaki-san likes me, has become quite yandere, and that we’re going to be married and live together… even thinking about it again, it’s still a pretty unbelievable story.
I used to think she was like an unattainable flower on the top of Mount Everest, but now she’s here, cooking for me… it’s surreal.
If the fan club found out about this, I’d probably be hanged.
After 30 minutes, Shiozaki-san’s voice called out, “It’s ready!” and we both sat down at the dining table.
“Itadakimasu!”
“…Itadakimasu,” I replied.
Shiozaki-san ate her meal with such relish, looking as lovely as ever.
It was the Shiozaki-san I knew, the one I had always seen.
The food tasted delicious. Usually, characters as talented and quirky as her have some kind of flaw, but she seemed to lack any such imperfections.
“…Shiozaki-san, I mean, Shiozaki “ Don’t call me Shiozaki! Aoi-kun is also Shiozaki, right?”
“…Ah… I see…”
It’s obvious, but when you get married, you change your last name. I knew that when I saw my name as Aoi Shiozaki on the new family register, but it seemed like I had become a part of the Shiozaki family.
I guess it was her way of making sure I became a part of her family, rather than her becoming a part of mine. It was probably her way of trying to cut ties with that house. Even if it was a twisted form of love, it was undoubtedly love.
“Then, I’m… Aoi Shiozaki,”
“Yeah! But, I think it’s fine to keep using Yamaguchi outside. If we suddenly say that Yamaguchi changed to Shiozaki, people might find out we’re married!”
“Are we hiding the fact that we’re married?”
“Of course! It might cause various problems if we reveal it, right…? Well, since our official documents are changed to Shiozaki, it might eventually come out at school haha. So, when we’re alone, can you call me ‘Marin’? Or ‘Marin-chan’ is fine too!”
Calling her “Shiozaki-san” felt a bit too formal, so I decided to address her with “chan”.
“…Marin-chan”
“You’re calling me that!?!!! I’m gonna die… I’m gonna die right now!”
“…Then I won’t call you that.”
“No! You have to call me properly, or else… um… I’ll attack you?”
“…That’s… troublesome.”
“Isn’t it?!… Wait, why is it troublesome?!”
“Well, for various reasons.”
“Hmm,” Marin pouted.
“Just to make sure, Aoi-kun, you don’t have a crush on anyone, right?”
“Nope. I don’t have time for romance, and I’ve never really felt that way anyway.”
“I see… By the way, who do you think is the prettiest girl in our class?”
“Obviously, it’s you, Marin-chan.”
“I’m not ramen, you know. There’s no ‘Shio Marin’ or ‘Soy Sauce Marin,’ but… really? Huh? I see…” (Tl/n: here she means she’s unique or the cutest/prettiest)
“Everyone in school thinks so, no doubt.”
“!!!!… B-by the way! Who’s second?”
“Second?… Um… maybe Shichiya-san?”
(Tl/n: where did her bre–ts go? Does she have a sarashi on?)
“Umi-chan, huh… Hmm,” Marin’s expression changed, clearly showing hostility, a side of her I rarely saw.
“No, I-it’s not like I like her or anything…”
“Hmm? You probably just said I’m first out of formality, but you really think Umi-chan is the cutest, right? She’s so cute. She’s like a little animal, so delicate, you want to protect her. And she has big breasts, right? Boys like those kinds of calculated girls,” she said, sulking blatantly.
“…”
I guess no matter whose name I mentioned, the result would’ve been the same, and if I hadn’t mentioned anyone she would’ve been upset either way…
“…Sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing!? Do you have something to feel guilty about!?”
“No, nothing… I mean, I hardly ever talk to Shichiya-san or anything…”
“R-right… Well, that’s good then… So, um, I’m already talking to Aoi-kun all the time anyway!” gives a smug look to the absent Shichiya-san.
Honestly, I don’t think Shichiya-san would even know how to react if she boasted like that about herself.
“So, Aoi-kun, you don’t have to wear a ring or anything! I mean, I wear it as a sort of charm or, you know, to fend off guys. Like, you know, if I’m a married woman, they won’t try to confess, right?”
…I see. So that’s why she deliberately wore the ring.
According to rumors, she has been confessed to about three times a week, and she’s apparently tired of politely turning them down every time.
“…Yeah. Got it. Thanks for the meal. It was really delicious.”
“Hehe, I’m glad you liked it. Oh, you can leave the dishes, it’s okay!”
“No, no, let me do at least this much.”
“Nope! I need you to become completely dependent on me, incapable of living without me! So, don’t do anything around the house! Rely on me for everything!”
“Is it normal to say that to someone’s face?”
“…If I become completely dependent, you might end up dumping me.”
“I won’t! I’m more worried that… you might end up hating me. So… you have to love me just as much as I love you!”
“R-right…”
Certainly, being with this person would probably turn me into a total mess.
Someone who has everything, and someone who has nothing.
It’s clear to everyone that the balance is way off.
I’m sure this feeling of inferiority won’t disappear anytime soon. It’s similar to how I feel about my sisters.
“Hey…uh…about the… the bath…”
“I’ll take it alone.”
“Immediate answer!? Ugh!!” she punched my back weakly.
And so, the marriage-in-one-day between me and her began.
