The Carnivorous Maidens Living with Me - Chapter 26 & 27
Chapter 26: Jealousy, Provocation, and Retribution
Do you remember?
That guy who confessed to Sofia and got rejected.
His name’s already forgotten.
The self-proclaimed handsome guy who was humiliated with an iron claw in front of everyone.
Filled with jealousy and anger, it was obvious what kind of action he’d take.
“Haa, why are they so damn stupid?”
I was standing behind the club building during lunch break, in a spot hidden from prying eyes.
I faced a crowd of over a dozen people.
The story goes back to this morning.
※
After homeroom, I got called out while heading to the bathroom.
“Hey, Kamizuki!”
Who’s this guy again?
“Come to the back of the club building at lunch.”
“Huh? No thanks.”
“What? You messing with me? Don’t care what happens to Kisaragi, huh?”
Hearing him say that, I couldn’t stay calm.
I remembered now.
This is the guy Sofia rejected.
Got it… this is a good chance to crush him.
Might even take care of the others in one go if it goes well.
“Fine. Don’t you dare touch her.”
“You should’ve said that from the start, loser.”
The self-proclaimed handsome guy walked off.
“Alright, time to get ready.”
I pulled out my phone and made a call.
“Hello, Gouta-san? I need to talk about something.”
After the call, I sent a message to the president.
Then I walked straight to the principal’s office door.
Konkon.
“It’s open.”
“Excuse me, Principal! I’ve got a tricky issue to discuss!”
“Oh? A consultation from Shoma-san? That’s rare. And a tricky issue, no less.”
The principal chuckled, and I felt a sense of reassurance.
When the president joined us, I brought up the messy situation.
“That’s too much of a burden on Shoma. And physically, no less! I won’t allow it!”
I figured the president would say that.
“I can’t agree to this either. If something happened to Shoma-san, I wouldn’t be able to face that person.”
I understood what the principal meant.
“President, Principal, I appreciate you worrying about me, but… I’m actually pretty pissed off right now.”
“…”
The two of them caught their breath as the mood shifted.
“I get that you can’t dish out punishment based on rumors alone. But this time’s different. If we have solid evidence, we can shut them down for good.”
And I kept going.
“If this plan works, at the very least, the people I care about won’t get hurt anymore.”
I continued.
“Plus, I’ve already contacted the broadcasting club and Gouta-san. Gouta-san said they’d stop by to greet you before lunch, Principal.”
A brief silence followed.
“Haa… you move fast. How am I supposed to say no now?”
“Thank you.”
“I’m not approving this, you hear? But if something happens to you, the Sumeragi family will back you up with everything we’ve got.”
“I’m counting on you, President. Actually, I’ve got a few favors to ask the Sumeragi family.”

And so, a little past the start of lunch break, the entire school—students and teachers—was left speechless… no, horrified by the scene on the monitors.
Asking Haruki, Ai, and Hazuki to keep Sofia out of the way was the right call.
I was taking a storm of fists and kicks from over a dozen guys.
My uniform was covered in red stains.
My face and arms were battered beyond recognition.
Yet there I was, still standing.

“Hmm, not yet… just a bit more.”
That’s what I was thinking as I took the onslaught of fists and kicks.
Among them was the self-proclaimed handsome guy, swinging a stick.
Oh! Getting hit with that stick might be just the right moment.
“Damn it! Why won’t he go down?!”
“What’s with this guy?!”
“This isn’t what we planned!”
The guys, panting and cursing, were rattled seeing me still standing.
“Tch! Fine, whatever happens, happens! This’ll finish him!”
“Hey, that’s going too far…”
Before he could finish, the handsome guy raised the stick and swung it down at my head.
Bogonn
A dull sound rang out… a direct hit.
The people watching on the screens could only shudder in horror.
Some covered their eyes.
Some puked up their lunch.
Some sobbed uncontrollably.
Their reactions varied, but the feeling was probably disgust.
Just as planned!
The moment the stick hit my head, I raised my fist overhead.
Thinking I was about to counterattack, the handsome guy jumped back in a flash.
You thought I’d fight back with this battered body? All talk, huh.
I’m not counterattacking… not me.
“Charge!!!”
“““Oooooh!!!!”””
A roar echoed through the area, signaled by my fist.
The thugs looked around, startled by the sudden shout.
When they saw who was there, their faces went pale.
Standing there was a squad of dozens of armed police officers!
In no time, they were all restrained, handcuffed, and forced to the ground.
“You’re under arrest for assault in progress!”
They were hauled off before they knew it.
“Shoma-kun, you’re too reckless! I didn’t hear anything about enduring this much damage!”
“I was busting my ass holding back the strike team! …No, forget that, your injuries come first! Get in the ambulance!”
Rushing to my side was my acquaintance, Detective Tsuyoshi Gouta.
To sum up what I told him on the phone:
-
- An incident’s about to go down.
-
- There’s a lot of them.
-
- Rush in when I give the signal.
Pretty simple.
“Ow, ow… Gouta-san, can you hold off a sec? I’ve got a little more to do.”
“…Haa. Fine… but only until I get the paramedics over here!”
Gouta-san sighed.
We’ve known each other long enough for me to know that’s his “no choice” signal.
I headed toward the camera the broadcasting club had set up and started speaking.
To those watching through the screens, it must’ve been pure terror.
A guy covered in blood, his face so swollen you could barely recognize him, slowly walking closer.
“So, did you all enjoy the show? Quite the entertaining spectacle, wasn’t it?”
“Huh? What’s that mean?”
“That was a spectacle?”
“…What’s going on?”
The crowd was shaken, unable to grasp the meaning of my bloodied face and words.
“As you just saw, those guys have been… let’s say, retired from this school—no, from society. Their families will likely share the same fate.”
I spoke with a laugh, letting the burning rage in my chest spill out.
“They’ll spend their lives in prison regretting who they messed with.”
My cheerful tone carried an undercurrent of anger so intense it struck fear into everyone listening.
“But scum like them are just the tip of the iceberg. So let me be clear: I have no intention of forgiving anyone who’s trashed my girlfriend.”
Rage…
“I’ll use every ounce of power I have to take revenge. Even if it costs me my life, I’ll crush them.”
Sacrifice…
“You, watching this screen—yeah, you, the one shaking right now! I won’t go easy on any of you!”
Resolve…
“Oh? Some of you still don’t get it? Fine, guess I’ll have to spell it out. Starting with the second-year…”
Truth…
From there, it was just me listing names and classes one after another.
“That’s the list! Man, that’s a crazy number, huh? Oh, and teachers, you’re not off the hook either, so don’t relax.”
Those whose names were called went pale, frozen in place, unable to flee.
“So, what I’m saying is…”
I paused, leaning right into the camera.
“Don’t think you can mess with my girlfriend and get away with it.”
Unlike my earlier smile, my voice boomed like it came from the depths of hell.
For a moment, the killing intent was so thick it felt like it grabbed everyone’s hearts.
“School life’s long, so let’s have some fun! Oh, and apologies won’t cut it! See ya!”
With those words, I walked off.
“Oh, one more thing! Hazuki Shirasaki from first-year, class four, is my girlfriend too! Mess with her, and… you know what’ll happen, right? Same goes for my friends. Later~”
And with that, I was gone from the screen.
Silence fell over the area.
That afternoon, classes saw a wave of early dismissals.
Later, this incident earned me a new title: the Do-M Demon King.
