The Carnivorous Maidens Living with Me - Chapter 24 & 25
Chapter 24: The Sisterly Alliance of Sofia and Hazuki [Sofia Kisaragi POV]
Yo, brother, how you doing?
A greeting you often hear on TV from overseas.
What does it mean?
Even if we’re not blood-related, we’re brothers in spirit!
It’s like you can hear that kind of voice, showing just how close they are.

I forgot about Shoma (I left him behind).
Hazuki and I were walking home together.
“Um, um, Sofia-senpai, are you really okay with this?”
What Hazuki wanted to ask about was the contract to share Shoma’s body.
“Hmm… honestly, when I first barged in, I was like, ‘No way I’m giving him up!’ But then I saw your face, Hazuki, and I thought, maybe… You were saved by Shoma too, weren’t you?”
I asked Hazuki gently.
“…Yes. But how did you know?”
“I’ve been watching Shoma ever since I started here. It was about this time last year, wasn’t it? You were at that park too, right?”
“—!”
“Yup, I thought so. You’ve changed a lot, so I didn’t recognize you at first. We never directly met, though.”
Hazuki looked down at my words.
“I won’t pry too much. You probably have things you don’t want to talk about… The reason I suggested that deal was because I thought we’re the same.”
“The same?”
Hazuki tilted her head at my words.
“Yup! Shoma saved me too. If he hadn’t been there, I probably wouldn’t even be at this school, let alone in Japan. That’s how much I depend on him.”
“…”
“So when the new school year started, and you showed up, I got worried. I was… ahem… monitoring Shoma, and I thought you were bad news. Honestly, compared to the other two, I thought you were the most dangerous, so I made my move first.”
Hazuki was nothing but shocked at my words.
“…So that’s how it was.”
I went on, telling her what I felt.
“But, you know, thinking we could force a physical relationship to trap him? We’re kinda on the same wavelength there!”
“Yes!”
Hazuki lit up at the idea of being on the same wavelength.
“That’s why I thought we could use that this time. I feel bad for Shoma, but he’s so kind, you know… I think he’ll figure out a way for everyone to be happy!”
“Yes! Senpai is so kind, isn’t he?”
Hazuki and I walked together through the sunset.
“Plus, I’m an only child, so I’ve always thought it’d be nice to have a little sister like you.”
“…I’m an only child too. I’m not good with guys, so I’ve always wanted a big sister!”
Her smiling face was adorable.
“Then, starting today, we’re sisters, Hazuki!”
I flashed a big smile at her.
Her eyes widened at my grin.
“…Sofia-senpai… Yes! Onee-chan!”
The shadows of our hands overlapped against the setting sun.
It was a beautiful scene, like we were true sisters.
Chapter 25: A Return to Normalcy and a New Title
Those who are given a title will likely take pride in it.
Great Demon King, Hero, Sword Saint, Fierce God.
However, it gives pride when your title is an honorable one, whereas it brings endless shame if your title is a dishonorable one.

The weekend was packed with shifts at my part-time job.
I was chatting with the boss and my senior about last week’s events, and we got so caught up that Monday came in a flash.
“I’ve decided to join the cooking club too!”
She announced that with a smile at my doorstep, right after the doorbell rang.
“That’s sudden. What’s with the change of heart?”
“Well, you know, my boyfriend’s in it… and Hazuki’s there too.”
“You two got pretty close, huh? Making more friends is a good thing.”
“Yeah!”
Looks like Sofia’s heading to school from my place again today.
I suggested meeting at the station, but she wouldn’t budge.
Apparently, her dad drives her to my neighborhood.
Well, that’s reassuring, I guess.
Her old man must be pretty worried about his daughter.
“Toast today? Or rice?”
“I want rice today!”
“Got it!”
“Hey, Shoma, teach me how to cook too.”
She said that while standing next to me as I got breakfast ready.
“I’ll teach you plenty in the club. But Hazuki’s better at cooking than me.”
We finished breakfast with that kind of casual chatter.
Heading to school together is starting to become a routine.
“This kinda thing’s nice, isn’t it?”
The words slipped out of my mouth naturally.
“Huh? Did you say something?”
“Nothing.”
She definitely heard me, but I was too embarrassed and dodged the topic.
When we got to school, a bunch of eyes were on us.
A group of girls approached us through the crowd.
“Hey! Do-M Senpai, what’s up!” (T/N: Explanation at the end.)
“Good morning, Do-M Senpai!”
“So, Do-M Senpai, what kind of play are you into these days?”
They were Hazuki’s classmates and friends.
“Huh? What’s this ‘Do-M Senpai’ thing… you talking about me?”
My cheek twitched.
“Yup! That video was shocking in all sorts of ways!”
“It’s the talk of the whole school!”
Their words were bumming me out.
“Ugh… well, guess there’s no helping it.”
Last week, I was all focused on Sofia, but this week’s apparently my turn.
“Thanks, Shoma.”
Sofia whispered an apology next to me, looking a bit guilty.
“Don’t worry about it. I got a new title, you know. It’s my pride!”
After bantering with Hazuki’s friends, we parted ways at the stairs and headed through the classroom door.
“Yo, Do-Ma! Nice morning, huh?”
“Do-Ma, you get tied up again this weekend?”
“Man, being Sofia-chan’s slave is too jealous-worthy. Switch with me!”
The guys started in on me.
“Do-Ma-kun, is it true you’re dating Kisaragi?”
“Kisaragi, how far have you gone with Do-Ma-kun?”
The girls joined in too.
“Hey, you guys, what’s with this ‘Do-Ma’?”
Did I get another new title?
“‘Do-M Shoma, shortened to Do-Ma!’”
I gave up thinking as my classmates cracked up.
Looks like my reputation’s hit rock bottom.
Not that I had much to begin with.
T/N: Do-M is basically a slang which literally means A Super Masochist. Do-S would be a Sadist.
