Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 56
Chapter 56: “Didn’t I Hold Back Pretty Well?”
“Weak.”
Natsuki couldn’t help but blurt out the truth as he looked back and forth between his fist and Reo, who was still stuck upside down in the rice field, struggling.
Ginko had warned him beforehand that Reo wasn’t strong, but he hadn’t expected it to be this bad.
He had barely put any magical power into that punch, yet it resulted in such an entertaining scene.
“So lameeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”
“Gyahhahahaahahahahaha!”
Ginko and Koume burst into laughter, unable to move. They were laughing so hard it seemed like they might actually take damage from it.
“…Is this for real? Was this really enough for the Kanna family’s heir? I almost want to ask how they were okay with that?”
Senju said, still in disbelief at Reo’s lack of skill.
Even Yusuke looked dumbfounded.
“When we were kids, there wasn’t much difference between us.”
“No, Reo has always been like that.”
“Mother?”
As Seishiro was puzzled, Taeko began to explain with a surprisingly calm expression.
“Unlike you, Seishiro, Reo was a child who hated hard work. He managed well enough when he was young, but neglecting training only makes you weaker. However, it seems that by skipping his training, he had more time to grow closer to Akemi-san.”
“…Now that you mention it, I did spend all my time training.”
That said, being weak is a serious problem.
It could lead to losing your life, or worse, failing to protect the people you’re supposed to protect.
Once you’re dead, there are no excuses to be made.
“You coward!!!”
Reo, crawling out of the rice field, screamed at the top of his lungs.
He was covered in mud, but anyone could still tell from his expression that he was furious.
He drew his spirit sword and took a stance.
“You attacked before I even got ready! There wasn’t even a signal to start! Just because you’re strong doesn’t mean you can hit me with a sneak attack! Now you’ve made me go all out!”
“…This guy is so pathetic to watch! Ugh, this is painful! Having to fight someone like him is just miserable! This doesn’t even count as Zama! What am I supposed to do here!?”
From Natsuki’s point of view, the moment someone shows hostility, the fight begins.
He had held back, which is the only reason Reo was alive and able to complain, but in another world, Natsuki would have killed him with the first strike.
Dead men don’t complain or make excuses—it’s much easier that way.
“Don’t mess with me! I’ll make you regret ever fighting me! Dieeeeeeeeeeee!”
“Your stance is terrible, you’re slow, and at least put some spiritual power into it!”
If this was Reo’s idea of going all out, it was honestly worrying for the Kanna family.
He was so weak that the excuse of not having a spirit sword didn’t even begin to cover it.
“Since you’re Seishiro-san’s brother, I was holding back, but fine. I’ll use a bit more strength now.”
Natsuki pulled out a plain sword from his item box, one he had picked up on a battlefield.
It was chipped and worn, but it would be more than enough against Reo.
“Hey! Natsuki! Make sure you keep holding back! You need to attack him gently, like you’re taking care of a weakling!”
“Huh? Why?”
Just as Natsuki, fully intending to strike, was about to make his move, Koume yelled, causing him to momentarily glance away.
He didn’t expose any real opening, but Reo, thinking he saw one, shouted, “I’ve got you now!”
“If you kill that weakling, the cheating woman will take it as her chance to go after Seishiro! She’ll pounce on him the moment his brother dies, saying it’s because she’s grieving! I’d bet anything on it! That woman will do it!”
“Ah, I see!”
Catching a glimpse of Akemi making a small “tsk” sound out of the corner of his eye, Natsuki understood Koume’s point. He returned the sword to his item box and kicked off the ground.
Reo, who had intended to bring his sword down, panicked as Natsuki suddenly closed in on him before he could even swing. His body kept moving forward, but his stance was sloppy, and he swung the sword with a trembling hand.
Natsuki, easily tracking the slow swing, took the opportunity to try a technique he’d always wanted to test—he caught the sword between his bare hands, and with a simple move, snapped the blade in half.
“Puh?”
“Ultra Super Dangerous Ultimate Mammon-Mammon Destiny Hero KIIIIICK!”
“Pigyah!?”
And with that, Natsuki, using just a bit of extra strength, kicked Reo in the groin after he froze up, letting out a strange sound from losing his spirit sword.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
The Kanna family arc is nearing its conclusion. Now that the noisy ones have quieted down, it’s time to deliver the final judgment.
