Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 55
Chapter 55: “Isn’t This Comeuppance?” ②
Natsuki, using all the power of a hero he could muster, swiftly donned a happi coat with “Zama” written on the back at lightning speed.
He waved his fan around and danced with joy.
“…W-Why… why am I suddenly being disowned?”
“It seems Susanoo-sama himself sent a message to the Kazama family.”
“…There’s no way… these people are really connected to the gods? This has to be a lie.”
Even though she had been warned about it beforehand, it was hard for Akemi to believe that mere humans could associate with gods.
She had no idea that, hidden among them, was an angel watching silently. Gods and demons were often closer than people realized.
“P-Please, help me, Seishiro-san!”
“Get a grip! I can’t say anything about the Kazama family, but what exactly do you expect me to do? What do you want from me?”
“T-This whole thing is absurd! I married into the Kanna family as the future wife of the next head! I didn’t marry some illegitimate child who isn’t even related by blood!”
“…Akemi.”
“This can’t be happening! If such a big secret existed when we got married, they should have told me! This is fraud, outright fraud!”
Seishiro was left speechless, watching Akemi scream and thrash, her hair disheveled.
Seeing her make such a spectacle of herself would be enough to kill any feelings of affection, no matter how deep they once were.
“Seishiro-san, aren’t you glad you didn’t marry this ugly woman? Want to wear the happi coat?”
“N-No, just the thought is enough for me.”
“Okay then. How about you, Senju-san and Yusuke-kun?”
“No way!”
“Why did you prepare not only fans but also happi coats!?”
“I thought it might come in handy.”
Natsuki looked dejected as his friends accepted the fans but refused to wear the happi coats.
“O-Oh, Mother! What am I supposed to do!?”
Realizing she couldn’t rely on Seishiro, Akemi ran over to Taeko.
However, Taeko responded calmly, without showing any emotion.
“I never recognized you as a wife in the first place.”
“Mother!”
You have been doing whatever you wanted to do without my concern. You have nothing to flatter me now.
“Haven’t you been doing whatever you pleased, claiming I didn’t matter to you? Trying to flatter me now will get you nothing.”
“…Don’t be ridiculous! If you didn’t like me marrying your eldest son, connected by blood, and instead marrying the illegitimate child, you should’ve just said so!”
“That’s not the issue. You were already involved with Reo even when Seishiro was the heir. If you think I didn’t know, the one being ridiculous is you.”
“T-That was because he forced me! I always loved Seishiro-san!”
As Akemi finally started crying, Natsuki instantly lost interest. He took off the happi coat, collected the fans, and put them back into his item box.
He then turned his back on the scene and started browsing social media.
“You sure do whatever you want. But I get how you feel.”
“Seishiro’s brother deserves some comeuppance too, but honestly, I feel bad for him when the wife is this much of a scumbag.”
Koume and Ginko added, looking at Akemi with utter contempt.
“It’s typical of noble families, though,”
“Yeah, I’ve seen this before… Watching her brings back my trauma from another world… Ugh, it’s all coming back.”
Yusuke muttered, holding his chest as memories from another world resurfaced.
Senju, understanding that noble families often had their share of messy situations, and Yusuke, triggered by Akemi’s behavior, both wanted to go home.
The situation had turned out much worse than any of them had imagined.
“Reo, Akemi-san claims this, but what’s your side of the story?”
“She came onto me. As proof, she didn’t let the brother lay a finger on her.”
“I warned you several times, didn’t I?”
“Hah! I just wanted to knock my high-and-mighty brother down a peg! Who would seriously go for a woman with such a nasty personality?”
“…Reo. Then why did you marry her?”
“Because Father told me to! He said with the Kazama family’s wealth and the Kanna family’s noble status, I’d gain more influence at the Institute!”
“Foolish.”
Taeko was at a loss for words, unable to believe such rash comments could come from an adult.
Even Seishiro was shocked, never imagining his brother resented him this much.
He had always thought Reo and Akemi had married out of love, leaving him behind for that reason. But now it was clear: Reo only did it to hurt him, and as for Akemi, none of her explanations made any sense.
It seemed ridiculous that he had spent years agonizing over these people.
“What do you mean by ‘foolish’!? You only care about your real son because he’s your flesh and blood!—Hey, you brat! If you really fought Susanoo-no-Mikoto and the gods, then show me that power!”
“…Huh? Are you some kind of suicide volunteer?”
“Don’t mock me! I’m still the rightful heir of the Kanna family! Even without the magic sword, as long as I have the spirit sword—”
“Hero punch!”
Natsuki hadn’t expected Reo to challenge him to a fight, but since he did, Natsuki responded with a light jab, charging his fist with lightning.
In the next instant, Reo crashed through the sliding doors, broke through the outer wall, and landed headfirst in the rice field.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Actually, Akemi is the daughter of the Kazama family head’s first wife… but instead of being bullied by her stepmother and half-sisters, she was the one doing all the bullying!
