Akemi was left speechless by Seishiro’s words, and Natsuki smirked confidently.

There was no way she could’ve guessed that this high school boy had actually fought against Susanoo-no-Mikoto. 

But since she knew Seishiro wasn’t one to lie, she stared at Natsuki, struggling to believe it. 

She tried to regain her composure, but failed miserably.

It was no surprise—by now, she had shown too much of her true self.

“Just so you know, this guy here is also on good terms with the Minazuki family. You should understand what could happen if the old families decide to set their sights on the upstart Kazama family.”

“…Now that I look at you closely, aren’t you just a failure from the Nanamori family? Who do you think you are, acting all high and mighty?”

“I’m still better than a cheater from the Kazama family.”

“You—”

It seemed Akemi had married into the Kanna family from a clan called the Kazama family, and it appeared Senju’s family was aware of some details about them.

“…Hey, Ginko-san. Do you know anything about the Kazama family?”

“Who knows?”

“Useless, aren’t you? Aren’t you supposed to know all about these psychic families?”

Even though Natsuki had discreetly asked, Koume and Ginko spoke so loudly that Akemi, who was being called part of an “upstart family,” glared at them with daggers in her eyes.

“—Wait, aren’t you Ginko Aoyama!? You’re the one who stole the Kanna family’s heirloom, and you dare show up here!?”

“See, I knew this was going to happen! I knew someone would bring it up! Let me just say, I took it officially, okay!? Even the Institute hasn’t asked for it back! And besides, Spirit Sword Hanako is having a great time with me!”

“How dare you give such a ridiculous name to our family’s heirloom!”

“It’s not ridiculous! And why is a loose woman like you complaining to me anyway!? Your husband didn’t even lift a finger when the sword was taken, and your father-in-law begged me to return it, offering money! Seishiro Kanna was the only one who fought me to get it back! You shameless woman!”

As the conversation started to go off the rails and Natsuki was getting bored since he couldn’t get to his “Zama” moment, it happened.

“That’s enough.”

A calm, yet firm woman’s voice echoed through the air. 

From the house emerged a middle-aged woman in a kimono, her presence somewhat similar to Seishiro’s.

“—Mother.”

“Welcome home, Seishiro. And to all of you, welcome to the Kanna family. I am Taeko Kanna, Seishiro’s mother and the head of the Kanna family. I warmly welcome you all.”
