Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 49
Chapter 49: “Isn’t This the Perfect Day for Zama?” ①
“What a beautiful day. It’s the perfect weather for some sweet, sweet zama.”
Natsuki, dressed in his school uniform and bathed in sunlight, had an unusually cheerful smile on his face.
“What kind of day is that supposed to be?”
“You’re in high spirits today, Natsuki-kun.”
Koume and Ginko commented, looking a bit exasperated, but even they couldn’t hide their secret excitement.
It had been ten days since Natsuki returned from the other world.
He had fought gods and demons, living quite the fantasy life, but today was going to be a little different.
“After returning from the other world, Earth turned out to be pretty fantastical too. Today, we’re going to pay a visit to the cheating fiancée and her backstabbing lover to give them their just desserts.”
“Why are you talking like it’s from a light novel?”
“Even if you speak to the sun, I’m pretty sure the sun goddess is still asleep.”
Normally, Natsuki wouldn’t get so worked up about someone else’s misfortune.
But this morning, while his mother was scolding him for coming home late the night before, they received a call from the police informing them that Yuto Miyahara from the Miyahara family had died.
Natsuki, already aware of this, pretended to be surprised, but his mother, truly shocked, immediately stopped her lecture and rushed to the Miyahara household.
It felt bad keeping things from his mother, but the desire to keep her out of all this mess was stronger.
Besides, Yuto had tried to kill both him and his brother Kazuto. He’d taken too much power from the goddess of love, causing him to explode from the inside out.
Thanks to Samael, his body had been restored enough to give his parents a proper corpse to bury.
Even so, there was still a lingering discomfort in Natsuki’s heart.
While he was relieved that Yuto was gone, thinking about his parents made his chest ache.
“…That aside, it’s a shame Jack and Nancy couldn’t come along.”
Originally, Jack and Nancy were supposed to visit the Kanna family as part of a sightseeing trip. But right now, Jack was in communication with his father back on their home planet.
Apparently, news had reached Jack’s dad about how Natsuki, Jack, Senju, and Bob had gotten into a huge fight with space pirates yesterday. And Jack’s dad was furious.
There was even talk of them receiving an award for their actions, but the bigger issue was that they had taken Earthlings into space without permission and destroyed several ships, including the pirates’ warship, leaving them as space debris.
Natsuki didn’t fully understand all the details, but it seemed like Jack’s dad had managed to smooth things over.
Natsuki had even greeted Jack’s dad once—and yep, he was just a regular Gray alien.
“I did a bit of research on the Kanna family.”
“Oh? That’s quite proactive of you, Ginko. It’s basic travel etiquette to look up information about your destination beforehand.”
“Well, it’s not from a guidebook or anything, but I asked around. Turns out, the Kanna family is pretty much on the decline.”
“…Probably because you stole their family heirloom.”
“No way! Even before that, the current head was already seen as a problem, but the next in line—uh, Seishiro’s younger brother—apparently has a reputation for being totally useless.”
Natsuki and Koume both tilted their heads in confusion.
“Rumor has it that people in the industry hear these things through the grapevine, but since I’m usually out here in the light, I didn’t really catch wind of it until now.”
“Don’t lie. You live in the depths of the abyss.”
“I’m not that deep in the darkness!”
“Okay, okay, but what’s this about Seishiro-san’s brother?”
“Apparently, he’s super weak.”
“…What?”
“…Huh?”
Natsuki and Koume couldn’t believe their ears. In a family known for their psychic power, for the next head to be described as “super weak” was just unthinkable.
“Wait, wait! Seishiro-san is a pretty skilled and traditional swordsman! His younger brother is that weak?”
“Yeah, apparently. Supposedly, he’s good at bullying weaker opponents, but in reality, he’s just a loud coward. They say he’s never even landed a hit on Seishiro in practice matches, let alone beaten him.”
“I know the type! The guy who brags about winning in a real fight without any proof to back it up!”
“Koume-san, you have some strange knowledge. But yeah, that’s pretty much it. He supposedly carries a spirit sword, but whenever he’s actually in the field, he gets so scared that he’s completely useless.”
“So… what could’ve possibly made Seishiro’s ex-fiancée cheat on him with a guy like that?”
“Who knows?”
“Seriously, why?”
From what they were hearing, Seishiro’s brother had no redeeming qualities.
“But you know, going to rub it in on some cowardly braggart like that… it’s going to be so fun, I can’t stop laughing just thinking about it.”
“Exactly. Is your phone fully charged?”
“Of course! I even cleared out extra space just for today!”
Natsuki, Koume, and Ginko grinned mischievously, eagerly anticipating the events to come.
