Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 24
Chapter 24: “Isn’t the Hero Joining In Too?”
Yusuke Sado was once a hero summoned to another world.
However, instead of a fun world filled with swords, magic, and heroines like in novels and manga, he experienced hellish days of being exploited by vile humans.
Though he managed to return to Earth, he couldn’t tell if it had all been a dream or reality. He became fearful of people and shut himself away.
Meeting Natsuki Yura, who had a similar experience, and Senju Nanamori, a psychic from Japan, helped him lighten the burden he carried.
He was still afraid of people and found it hard to make eye contact. But thanks to Natsuki and Senju, he felt he could move forward.
When he finally sat down to dinner with his family again, his mother and father had tears in their eyes, and even his usually distant sister admitted she had been worried about him.
Realizing that his family was trustworthy and important made him feel a bit more at ease.
Taking one step forward made the second step surprisingly easier.
After a few days of being shut in, he decided to take his smelly sheets and clothes to a laundromat, not wanting to burden his mother.
He thought he wouldn’t run into many people there. While waiting for his laundry, he decided to pass the time by the riverbank.
“Huh?”
That’s when he saw two men engaged in what looked like a supernatural battle.
“Awawawa! What the heck! That’s a real fight, a serious battle! Wait, isn’t Japanese fantasy supposed to be more light-hearted? Like a romantic comedy? Is this a serious battle genre!?”
He should have run away, but his kind nature hadn’t changed, even after being taken advantage of so much in the other world.
Before he knew it, Yusuke was running towards the bridge.
Terrified by these Japanese fantasy characters fighting without considering the damage to the surroundings, he created a barrier around them.
But it was too late.
“Oh no, this is bad! What is that? It’s not magic or spiritual power?!”
As explosive spiritual and divine powers clashed, destroying the bridge, Yusuke activated his magic.
The bridge, which should have been shattered and collapsed, was held together by Yusuke’s earth magic.
It was misshapen, but still intact, which was better since there were still a few cars on it.
“…I don’t know how strong these people are, but I hope they’re not as powerful as a wyvern’s full-force tackle from the other world.”
He had once withstood a wyvern’s fierce attack by creating a stone wall in the other world, but each of these fighters’ blows was overwhelming, and he wasn’t confident.
Ignoring the ongoing battle, Yusuke focused on evacuating the people who had gotten caught up in it.
“Um, I don’t really get it, but please cross the bridge quickly!”
“But, the bridge, it’s breaking—”
“It’s just a dream! See, it’s spring and getting a bit hot, so you probably got dizzy from heatstroke. Move to the nearby convenience store, drink some water, and once you calm down, go home.”
“Oh, okay. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome!”
After having this exchange three times, Yusuke managed to move all the cars off the bridge. Relieved that no one was injured, he felt anger bubbling up.
“I’ve been through hell in another world and I’m still on edge, and these guys are just doing whatever they want! Show some restraint, this isn’t your fantasy world!”
Yusuke shouted, then jumped off the bridge and charged towards the two fighting on the riverbank.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Yusuke was furious!
Meanwhile, Natsuki and the others were…
Senju: “Um, Yura.”
Natsuki: “…Yes?”
Senju: “Can you really cut through a spaceship?”
Natsuki: “Like this?”
Senju: “This kid is scary. I want to go back to Earth now.”
Bob: “…Seriously? Earthlings are scary.”
Jack: “Well, Natsuki is an exception, or something.”
Pirate: “Please stop alreadyyyyyyyyyyyyy!”
We’ll be back soon!
