Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 23
Chapter 23: “Isn’t the Revenger Here?” ②
Seishiro Kanna was an instructor who taught swordsmanship and close combat at an institution for training spiritual mediums.
Despite being in his twenties, he was highly skilled and the inheritor of a spiritual sword passed down through the Kanna family.
He had a history of slaying numerous evil spirits, demons, and yokai, and was expected to be capable of defeating even lower-ranked gods or demons under the right conditions.
“At least I’ll kill you without making you suffer.”
Seishiro moved swiftly towards Ren, swinging the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi smoothly like flowing water.
The strike was so fast that even a highly skilled fighter would find it difficult to dodge.
If Ren had a weapon, he might have been able to block it, but he was unarmed.
Seishiro was confident that this strike would kill Ren.
However, Ren Kobayashi had extraordinary physical abilities and spiritual power.
“If this is all you’ve got, then it’s no problem for me!”
Even without enhancing his body, Ren was able to follow Seishiro’s movements perfectly.
His body responded without any issues.
As the sword approached, Ren stepped back just enough to narrowly avoid it and then kicked up at the blade with his right foot.
“What!?”
Perhaps Seishiro had never fought someone as extraordinary as Ren before. He was shocked by Ren’s response, his eyes wide and his body momentarily stiffening.
This stiffness didn’t mean he was completely immobile or acting foolish.
It was just a brief, less-than-a-second reaction.
But for Ren, that brief moment was enough.
He spun around, switching his right leg with his left, and delivered a powerful kick.
Ren’s kick hit Seishiro’s abdomen as if it were drawn to it.
Instantly, Seishiro’s body was blown backward.
It was a kick strong enough to destroy the internal organs of an average person, potentially causing them to lose consciousness.
But Seishiro managed to stop his momentum by stabbing his sword into the ground. Despite being blown to the other side of the bridge, he stood without rolling on the ground.
“Cough, ugh.”
Seishiro spat out a lot of blood, likely from internal injuries.
“You might have a scary sword, but it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t hit. I’m not good at holding back. I don’t want to kill you, so I’d appreciate it if you left this town.”
“Don’t underestimate me!”
“I’m warning you. If you insist on continuing this fight, I’ll respond with my full strength.”
“I told you not to underestimate me! Then I’ll get serious too. Awaken, Totsuka-no-Tsurugi! The divine sword wielded by Susanoo-no-Mikoto!”
―THUMP!
Seishiro’s sword pulsed strongly.
The sword began to emit an unusual power, causing Ren to brace himself.
“This isn’t spiritual power. But it’s not magic either. So, it’s divine power?”
“That’s right! No matter how strong you are, humans can’t defeat gods!”
“Wait! If you wield such power with your human body—”
“Shut up! I’m using it fully aware of the cost! As long as I can get my revenge, I don’t care if I die! But first, a test run. Boy, state your name.”
Surrounded by divine energy, Seishiro readied his sword.
“Ren Kobayashi.”
“That’s a good name. I’ll remember it. I’m Seishiro Kanna.”
Both kicked off the ground at the same time.
Ren’s explosive spiritual power-enhanced kick clashed with the divine-powered strike of Totsuka-no-Tsurugi, and the bridge collapsed.
