Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 19
Chapter 19: “Time to Settle Things?” ④
Senju Nanamori shed tears as he felt the depth, warmth, and kindness of Jack Randock Jasper Williamson Chamber Hanamaki, Nancy Peety Lottrott Nigelmary Akaboshi.
Born into a family of psychics with the “Spirit Eye,” Senju always felt inferior to his exceptional siblings, which made his childhood far from pleasant.
At sixteen, he left home and made a living as an underground psychic. It was a tough life, filled with hardships, and at times, he resented God. This led him to ponder about the nature of God, eventually considering if God might be an alien.
After all, he thought it more likely for aliens to exist than an unverifiable God.
Having actually seen aliens, he realized they were different from what he thought of as God, yet he considered the possibility of even higher beings. Not that he wanted to harm aliens, but he reasoned that if they were threatened, a superior entity might appear.
In the end, the being that emerged was an overpowered hero from another world.
“I was wrong. I didn’t believe in God. So, I foolishly imagined aliens were gods. But God does exist. Right here!”
“―Eh?”
Natsuki tilted his head, puzzled.
If he wasn’t mistaken, Senju claimed to have found God.
Yet, there was no God here, nor any presence of the great deity Amaterasu.
So, who did he perceive as God?
(Ah, yeah, their generosity is almost godlike!)
“―Lord. I pledge my utmost loyalty to you!”
“Wait a moment. You’re mistaken. Neither Nancy nor I are gods; we’re aliens.”
“No, Lord. I’ve seen the divine in you both. No matter what anyone says, you are my gods!”
As Senju, overwhelmed with tears, prostrated himself, Jack and Nancy looked troubled.
It’s confusing for anyone to be suddenly treated as a deity.
However, to Natsuki, Jack and Nancy seemed more godlike than any other gods he had encountered before, making it hard to deny.
(Tsukiyomi-sensei feels more like a teacher than a god, and Amaterasu-sama… well, that’s complicated…)
“Natsuki, I didn’t expect this turn of events. What should we do?”
“How about we go on a space drive to confuse things a bit?”
“―Hmm. That might work.”
“Eh?”
Surprised that his suggestion was actually taken seriously, Natsuki watched wide-eyed as a classic Adamski-type UFO appeared above the crying and praying Senju.
“Ah, the chariot of the gods!”
“I’m really curious how the Adamski model looks to Nanamori!”
As a beam of light enveloped Natsuki, Senju, and Jack with a whoosh, the next moment, they were inside the UFO.
Back in his gray alien form, Jack took the controls with a pleased expression.
“Then, let’s go for a drive to deepen our friendship!”
〜〜Afterword〜〜
A well-built police officer, twirling a baton and chewing gum, said, “You again? This is troubling. Ahh, next time it’s a license suspension. Just because you’re the boss’s son doesn’t mean I can let it slide. There’s a lot of drunk driving and careless driving causing accidents lately. Well, your speeding is relatively minor, but a violation is still a violation. I’ll have to enforce the law.”
Jack: “Yes, I’m sorry.”
The officer continued, “License, please. And make sure to pay the fine by the due date. What’s that? Oh, I’m Officer Bob Morales Wynn Darner Sutomii Makihara. What? A pirate ship disguised as a merchant ship has broken through the checkpoint and is headed this way? Nonsense! What will we do if it heads towards Earth!”
Natsuki: “Ah, I smell trouble.”
Senju: “I can tell! This is going to be like a foreign movie where we catch the pirate ship with this officer and take down the organization behind it, right!?”
Natsuki: “No way!”
—It turned out just as Senju imagined. Of course, Natsuki heroically overpowered everyone, and so did Senju, in his own way.
