Chapter 15: “Aren’t You Curious?” ②

“I’ve come to terms with being summoned to another world. The way people treated me there was terrible. Honestly, I find it hard to trust people anymore. It’s still a bit scary. I hate feeling afraid, even around my parents and sister; it makes me feel pathetic. But more than that, there’s something I wanted to accomplish in that other world—why wasn’t I summoned to the Demon Lord’s side!?”

“O-oh.”

Yusuke, having started the conversation, began to speak with wide-open eyes, pushing Senju back a bit with his intensity.

“As Yura-kun and Nanamori-san seem to know about my circumstances, I might as well say it—I love monsters. Creatures like spirits and yokai are the best. Especially if they are in the form of girls. Lamias are the best, and Arachnes are totally fine too. I absolutely adore harpies. Sirens and mermaid types? I’d marry them in a heartbeat. Centaurs, from behind, uhehe. I’ve always loved these fantastical creatures, hoping that someday I’d be summoned to another world. But who would have thought I’d end up fighting against these creatures!?”

“Ah, yes.”

“Sado-kun talks really fast.”

Yusuke, panting a bit, couldn’t stop talking.

“I actually tried to switch to the Demon Lord’s side. One of the Four Heavenly Kings approached me. Since Yura-kun, the previous hero, was so strong, and since I’m from another world, I saw no reason to stick with humans—of course I’d go to the other side! Plus, the demons’ victory was only a matter of time. Who cares about humans there? Their civilization is stuck in the middle ages while the Demon Lord’s side is like a fantasy from another world. I’m not looking for realism in another world adventure! The demons were ready to welcome me warmly. The humans treated me like a stud horse. So, of course, I went. But then, some guy claiming to be a close aide snitched on me. I was tortured, watched more closely, and forced to father children with women I didn’t want… Damn it! My pure blood! There were so many girls on the demon side that I liked! I was ready to fight for them until my last breath. I wouldn’t have minded dying for them in that world!”

“Ah, um, Sado-kun. Take a breath, take a breath.”

“Yeah, maybe drink some water and calm down.”

“And to think a succubus is interested in me! Yes, absolutely!”

Yusuke spoke so continuously that it seemed he might run out of breath.

(No wonder his life in that world was so terrible. He loves monsters, yet he was forced to fight on the human side and even mate. Ugh, that’s pitiful, but man, Sado-kun is kind of intense!)

He sympathized with him, thinking, “To hell with people from that world,” but the emotions Natsuki harbored and those Yusuke harbored seemed somehow different.

“Um, about that succubus,”

“Uh-huh,”

“A friend, Lilith-san, said the best way to heal a hurt boy is with a girl,”

“…Meaning?”

Yusuke swallowed hard, his eyes bloodshot.

He probably could guess what was coming.

Even Natsuki, a hero who dominated another world, was shocked by the turn of events.

Instead, Senju told Yusuke,

“―They’re going to introduce you to a succubus!”

“―Thank God!”

―No, no. You’re welcome.

“Hey! Yura! I just heard something! It can’t be God, right!? Despite the nice voice, it sounded like it was up to no good!”

“What are you talking about? And you should be thanking Lilith-san, not God,”

“Right! Thank you, Lilith-sama!”

Yusuke started praying to Lilith while Senju got confused by hearing the voice of God.

Watching them, Natsuki sighed.

“―I just want to go home. I want to hang out with Koume, Ginko, Jack, and Nancy!”

And, Sado talks a lot.

Senju ends up hearing God’s voice.
