Chapter 14: “Aren’t You Curious?” ①

After finishing their meal, Natsuki and the group took a moment to relax. 

Yusuke seemed satisfied, having had a proper meal for the first time in a while. They were glad if their presence had helped him in any way.

“Um, so, let’s have talk time.”

“Eh? Oh, okay.”

As Natsuki started speaking, Yusuke nodded, albeit a bit confused.

(First, I’ll ease the mood with some light talk, then move the conversation to succubi!)

“So, Sado-kun, what are you going to do next?”

“Next, huh… First, I need to apologize to my family for worrying them. I’ve missed a few days of university, but it shouldn’t be a problem. I hope I can start going regularly again.”

“Yeah, yeah. You might not be able to tell them about the other world, but just saying you’re feeling better will probably reassure them.”

“But since you can’t mention the other world, how will you explain why you were so down?”

Faced with Senju’s question, Yusuke looked a bit like he might cry, but then he spoke.

“I’ll just say I went through a bad breakup. It’s not exactly a breakup, but I did have a rough time with a girl.”

“I feel kind of bad. I didn’t mean to make you say something like that.”

“Oh, it’s okay. I know I need to get over these things little by little. But I’m still a bit scared.”

Just because Yusuke managed to step out of his room doesn’t mean he’s fully recovered. Natsuki inwardly groaned, “Hmm.”

Should they proceed with succubus therapy, as Senju and Lilith suggested? 

(As long as it doesn’t make things worse.)

Still, interacting with someone could be beneficial.

Yusuke might react differently even to a succubus, despite having just met Natsuki and Senju.

They couldn’t decide if it was a good or bad idea right there.

(Should we leave it to Mammon and Samael like Ren-kun… or just turn into mammon mammon and come back?)

For a moment, Natsuki thought he had a good idea but then shook his head no.

“I don’t want to pry since we just met, but what do you plan to do with your hero powers? This little guy has been toppling mountains and knocking down buildings.”

“That’s within acceptable limits.”

“Wow, Yura-kun, you’re quite mischievous, aren’t you?”

“…Sado, don’t downplay it. Yura is dangerous.”

“I don’t need to be lectured by a guy who tried to dissect an alien!”

“Sorry about that!”

“Both of you… um, you guys aren’t exactly the standard for our world, right?”

Yusuke made a strained face. 

It seems Natsuki’s rampage with his hero powers was one thing, but Senju did not seem like someone who would actually try to dissect aliens.

“Eh? Wait, what, they exist? There are aliens!?”

“Ah, maybe I should have kept that a secret?”

“It’s too late now.”

“Well, it’s okay. Sado-kun doesn’t seem like a bad guy. If we get the chance, let’s go for a drive in a UFO!”

“Wow…”

Yusuke was struggling to keep up with the conversation, so they let him take a moment to calm down. He drank some water and let out a big sigh.

“So, Sado,”

“Yes?”

“I’d like to make a suggestion for you.”

Senju spoke with a bit of mystery, making Yusuke tilt his head.

“—Are you interested in succubus?”

“—Please tell me more.”

“Wait? Sado-kun, you’re really into this, huh? Despite your trauma with women, you’re really into this! Huh? Is it an act? Was it just an act?”

Yusuke, leaning forward to hear more details, now puzzled Natsuki.
