“Let’s set the jokes aside.”

“Was that really just a joke!?”

“Let’s put that aside! Don’t just laze around at your host’s place; help out with the chores. Weren’t you taught how to do housework hundreds of years ago?”

“The cooking methods from ages ago can’t possibly be useful today! The best I can do is try to cook rice in a clay pot!”

Back in a time before electricity, Koume had learned cooking as part of her bridal training from Lilith, but these skills are mostly useless in the modern world.

Koume can make sandwiches and pasta at least.

Making a sandwich is as simple as stuffing it with your favorite ingredients and slicing it, and for pasta, just boil it and toss it with some tasty store-bought sauce.

For Koume, who used to crunch on uncooked pasta when money was tight, boiling it is quite an achievement.

“I should be fine, but you might want to worry about Hanako. It’s not good to leave that marriage-hunting monster unchecked.”

Hanako, though not Lilith’s child, used to be very close to her. She has more memories of being a parent and child with her than Koume does.

“I’ve given up on that child.”

“Hey!”

“I wonder if she’ll accidentally meet a nice person, like Amaterasu-chan did.”

“There’s no way she’d meet someone that conveniently! …Wait, is Amaterasu seriously into Kazuto!?”

“―It’s serious.”

“Really?”

“Grandpa Nagi and Grandma Nami are also trying to greet their parents. But, you know, there’s the issue with his brother right now.”

“…Right, that was the case.”

Kazuto Miyahara’s brother, Yuto Miyahara, was given too much power by the goddess of love and consequently disappeared without a trace. 

Normally, this would have been handled as a missing person case, but thanks to Samael, who repaired his body, it’s going to be reported to their parents as a fatal accident, probably today or tomorrow.

While Yuto, who tried to harm not only Natsuki but also Kazuto, got what he deserved, their parents are bound to be saddened by his death even if he was a troublesome son.

That’s why Izanagi and Izanami also can’t take action immediately.

“If Kazuto Miyahara needs healing, let me know. I can introduce him to a succubus, or maybe I could help him out myself.”

“No way! Knowing that Amaterasu is really into Kazuto, why would you say something like that!?”

“Oh, it’s just a joke.”

“It doesn’t sound like one!”

“Anyway, come to the café sometime. I’ll give you a job that includes some bridal training.”

“…Uh, I’ll think about it.”

“And think about Natsuki-kun too. I could teach him a few things, or maybe the three of us, with Koume, could!”

“Mom, just be quiet alreadyyyyy!”

After years, nothing has changed with her mother. She ended the call with a shout and threw a cushion against the wall.

“…Mom really fusses over people she likes, regardless of their gender. I can’t count how many have been her ‘victims’. It looks like it’s time for me to really step up my game.”

With a sly smile, Koume stood up.

“Starting today, it’s beautiful legs day! I’m ditching jeans for hot pants and mini skirts!”

A few hours later, after finishing work and returning to the living room, Ginko said to her, 

“Aren’t you always showing off your legs to Natsuki-kun anyway? This isn’t exactly new. And why did we shift from housework and jobs to talking about legs? Are you okay?”

Koume ended up feeling pretty down after the harsh comments.
