Reincarnated as the Villain Who Experiments on Orphanage Kids – Why Are the Test Subject Girls Begging Me for "Night Experiments"? - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: The Mad Scientist Restrained by the Test Subjects
[Side: Priere]
“We’re going to use force tonight.”
“Sounds like it’s gonna get fun!”
“Hmph, I’ll prove that I’m the strongest!”
After we left the lab and went back to the room, the three of us—me, Rafal, and Fioraia—decided to hold a strategy meeting.
“Sai probably realizes he’s a genius. That’s why he doesn’t easily hand things over to others. He thinks it’s easier to do everything himself.”
“Yeah, Master really takes on too much by himself all the time. He’s the director, but he still cooks for everyone and even leads the cleaning. We have a cook hired and everything.”
“Hmph, Sai’s cooking is delicious!”
“Fio, you really love Master’s cooking, huh? You always eat way too much.”
“What? Are you saying I’m getting fat? If you wanna fight, I’ll take you on.”
Fioraia was getting all aggressive like always, so I left her be. But it was true that Sai tried to do everything by himself.
No matter how much of a genius Sai was, I thought it would be hard for just one person to completely destroy Rebellion.
From the information we’d gathered, the organization had over a thousand members. If you included everyone connected to them, it would be even more.
There was a limit to taking down such a powerful enemy all alone. That’s why we wanted to support him from the side.
“But what exactly do you mean by using force? We don’t even know how strong Master really is.”
“Hmph, obviously I’m stronger! We just fight him normally and make him submit.”
“Fio, you’re gonna lose.”
“You’re really picking a fight, aren’t you? I can teach you right now if you want.”
“To be honest, Sai’s strength is still unknown. We’ve never seen him fight. But there’s one decisive thing.”
I stopped the two who looked like they were about to start grappling and continued.
“He’s way too soft on us.”
“Soft?”
“Sai is super sweet to kids. We’ll target that exactly. Here’s the plan.”
I explained the full strategy to the two of them.

“Sai! Good morning~”
“Hey. John, you’re full of energy today too!”
A lot had happened the night before, but the next day nothing special occurred.
It was the usual daily routine. I woke up like always, watched the kids wash their faces like always, made breakfast like always, washed the dishes when we were done, and then taught the kids letters and basic social knowledge like always. Study time.
In this country, the literacy rate wasn’t very high, and unlike Japan where I lived in my previous life, there was no such thing as compulsory education. Studying was something only people with money like nobles or merchants could do.
That kind of common sense was deeply rooted here. That’s why I was teaching the kids.
I believed that when they eventually left the orphanage, they might be valued as outstanding talent.
“Alright, that’s it for today. Review on your own and do your homework, got it? Especially you, John!”
“Ehhhhhhhh”
“Don’t complain. Just do it. If you don’t, it’ll only get harder later.”
When class ended, I left the kids with the staff and headed out into the city. I bought ingredients and daily necessities, stopped by the church to ask if there were any problems, gathered information at the adventurers’ guild, and slurped some ramen.
After finishing all that, I returned to the orphanage and made dinner. After dinner came teeth-brushing check time and then putting everyone to bed.
After that, I did the books, peeked in on the kids, or did some personal research in the lab. That was the usual flow.
It really was the same everyday life. On days without my hobby part-time job, this was how I lived. It was such a peaceful day that you wouldn’t think anything had happened the night before.
But unfortunately, it didn’t end that quietly. I’d noticed it for a while now—Priere and the other two were night owls. You could even call them nocturnal.
During the day they acted like proper big sisters who set a good example for the kids, but at night their true nature came out.
“…………Hm?”
It happened after I’d put the kids to bed and was lying on my bed in my room. I was getting sleepy, my eyelids starting to droop, when—
“——!”
The door that should have been locked opened, and three figures slipped in from outside. They immediately rushed in and surrounded me.
“Huh?”
Then the three of them just clung to me. Priere pressed against my chest, while Rafal and Fioraia each grabbed onto my arms.
“We’ve captured him!”
“Just like the plan! He really didn’t resist at all!”
“Hmph, of course this much is easy when I get serious!”
“Yes. Sai is so soft on kids that if we try to hug him, he won’t resist. He’s always been like that.”
“Eh? Eh? What do you mean?”
Before I knew it, they’d pulled something out and started wrapping it around my arms. What they were winding around and around was a sturdy rope.
“Why are you trying to tie me up?”
“We’re using force!”
Priere said it while still clinging to my chest. Her mouth was pressed right against me, so her voice sounded muffled, and her warm breath tickled.
The other two were handling the important job of restraining me, but Priere was basically just hugging.
She looked like she was doing something, but she wasn’t really doing anything.
“Where’s the ‘using force’ in this? You just attacked me while I was sleeping.”
“When fighting an organization, you have to stay alert even at night. You never know when you’ll get attacked. That means there’s a limit to Sai fighting alone.”
“…Maybe, but still.”
“But don’t worry. We from the SJO Squad always have someone on watch, staying alert. That’s one of our strengths as an organization.”
Priere looked down at me with a gentle smile. Every time she spoke, her breath brushed against me and it felt itchy.
“I get that you three are amazing. You’ve shown enough strength already. I understand, so can you untie me now?”
I was pretty sure they tied me up to show their strength. If that was the case, there was no reason to keep me captured anymore, so they should have let me go. But the world wasn’t that kind.
“Do you really think we’d believe that?”
Priere gave me a strong, skeptical look. It seemed my words had zero credibility.
“Then what do I have to do for you to believe me?”
“If Sai does a proper experiment on us, we’ll believe you. Of course we’ll untie you too.”
“A proper experiment?”
“A constructive and practical experiment suited to our bodies!”
She used fancy words, but I had no idea what she was actually saying. Damn it. Had I taught them too many random things?
When you traced it back, the SJO Squad name only existed because I taught them the alphabet abbreviation.
I must have given them a biased education because I let my previous-life knowledge influence me too much. As an educator, I was a total failure.
“So that’s why, Sai, please experiment on me!”
“Master, experiment on me!”
“Hmm, I guess I wouldn’t mind letting you experiment on me.”
With both hands tied and the rope fixed to the bed, I couldn’t move at all. The three of them stared at me with fierce eyes.
Those eyes held a powerful light, and all I could do was give a dry smile since I had nowhere to escape.
“Sai, we won’t untie you until you do the experiment on us, okay?”
Priere smiled with a beautiful, sweet expression.
“This is using force?”
This was just straight-up imprisonment!
That’s what I thought, but it was already too late. And so, I ended up confined by the test subject girls.

“The time has come. At last, the moment to achieve our long-cherished wish.”
A low, resonant voice spread through the stone room. It was a hidden base deep underground. The only lights were a few magic lamps, and the space was about the size of a church sanctuary.
In that gloomy place, several men including me sat around a round table.
Orange badges on their chests, each with a star engraved in the center.
Proof that they were executives of Rebellion.
Of course I had a star too. After all, I was one of the only seven executives in the organization.
“We have spent an enormous amount of time for this day.”
One of the executives standing in front stood slowly continued speaking.
“This country has been dominated by the Holy Sword for far too long.”
“Those chosen by the Holy Sword are joined with the royal family, and those with aptitude for the Holy Sword are gathered at the academy. Only those who possess the Holy Sword decide the order of this country.”
“Everything revolves around the Holy Sword.”
“But we are different.”
The man placed his hands on the table. With eyes filled with resentment, he said,
“We are the ones who were not chosen.”
Those not chosen by the Holy Sword are worthless. That was common sense in this country. So many people had held their breath over it.
Well, I was chosen by the Holy Sword, though.
I was the only one among the executives who had graduated from the academy. After that I became a knight, but I quit right away because I didn’t like my superior, and then drifted into the organization. Well, that was then, this is now. Right now I’m still a loyal servant of the organization.
“That’s why we will prove it. That this country doesn’t need the Holy Sword.”
After declaring that, the man in front raised his sword high. We followed suit and clashed our swords together. The seven blades met perfectly, shining sharply in the light.
“All of this is to erase the Holy Sword from this world.”
We of Rebellion would now begin the operation. It was to throw this country into chaos. And to make the Holy Sword disappear from existence.
