Reincarnated as the Villain Who Experiments on Orphanage Kids – Why Are the Test Subject Girls Begging Me for "Night Experiments"? - Chapter 9
Chapter 9: The Mad Scientist Confined by the Silver-Haired Elf
I got confined by the test subject girls.
In that situation, the first things I worried about were the orphanage’s operations and… my part-time job shift. Yeah, I had a shift starting tomorrow night.
So I needed to escape their restraints by at least nightfall.
But I wasn’t panicking that much. Because I had magic.
The mad scientist from the original story didn’t have high combat power. Instead, he specialized in escaping, and no matter how cornered you thought he was, he’d slip away right away. That was his thing.
The reason was that the original me was a user of space magic. Magic wasn’t rare in this world, but space magic was in a league of its own. Very few people could handle it, and the range of applications was huge.
Of course it wasn’t some cheat ability. I couldn’t teleport people or move myself.
Still, I could store or move objects, so depending on how I used it, I could make it useful for escaping. Like this, for example.
“………………”
I looked down at my bound wrists. A cloth rope was wrapped around and around them. A normal person might not be able to get free, but it didn’t matter to me.
All I had to do was send a tiny bit of magic power into it.
That was enough for the rope to move under the bed. Just like a magic trick, in an instant.
“Alright.”
It looked like it worked perfectly. The rope that was supposed to be tying me down had been moved by magic.
Now that I was free, I could sneak out of the room and spend the night in the underground lab. By morning they wouldn’t be able to do anything. So I’d still make it for the orphanage duties and my shift. A truly perfect plan.
I stood up and started walking toward the door.
“Hmm.”
But unfortunately, this room had a guard.
“Master, you’re a user of space magic, huh.”
The words made me stop in my tracks. When I looked over, a girl was sitting on a chair right next to the bed.
It was Rafal, sitting with her knees drawn up, watching me with interest. Looked like they were planning to take turns watching me in three shifts tonight. She let her silver hair flow as she stood up and said,
“It’s like… sending magic power into an object and moving it, right?”
As she spoke, she smoothly grabbed my arm.
“But you can’t move people?”
“…You’ve been watching closely.”
“Yeah. I’m good at this kind of thing.”
Rafal smiled gently.
Elves were generally said to be well-versed in magic. In this world magic was considered inferior to swordsmanship, but elves were the exception.
They handled magic power far better than humans, and with their rich knowledge and experience, they had enough power to rival swordsmanship too.
As a result, they were seen as a threat and wiped out, but their eye for observing magic was impressive. She’d instantly seen through the magic I used earlier.
“Master,”
Rafal looked up at me with ruby-red eyes and said,
“Aren’t you underestimating us a bit too much?”
“Not really.”
“Really? You’re treating us like kids, aren’t you?”
While saying that, Rafal tugged me hard back toward the bed.
“You shouldn’t think you can escape that easily.”
She’d always had something a little hard to grasp about her. She wasn’t bright and noisy like Fioraia, but she wasn’t quiet like Priere either.
“………………”
Setting aside the fact that Priere hadn’t been quiet at all lately, she was kind of in the middle of the three.
But what was it? The current Rafal felt different somehow.
Her eyes caught me like she was targeting prey, and I had a feeling I might get pounced on any second. Out of the three, she seemed the most intense.
“…Eh?”
It looked like my feeling was spot on. She suddenly hugged me, then pushed me down hard onto the bed. This time she pulled out shining silver handcuffs.
“Master really is too soft on kids. If we hug you, you absolutely won’t refuse, right?”
“Yeah, that might be true.”
“Why? Don’t you find it annoying?”
She stared at me with those crimson eyes. It might seem strange, but as the orphanage director, it was only natural.
“Not annoying at all.”
“Why?”
“When you’ve worked at an orphanage for a long time, you run into kids who grew up without anyone to hug them. When those kids come to hug you, how could you refuse?”
“……………………”
“I can’t. So I just naturally started accepting it.”
It was only natural as the orphanage director.
“I see. That’s so like you, Master.”
“I was different when I was younger. Well, I guess I’ve gotten older.”
“Hmm, talking about age in front of an elf?”
She brought the handcuffs closer to my arm while looking down at me from above.
“You do know I’m older than you, right?”
“In human years you’re fifteen, aren’t you?”
“But it’s a fact that I’ve lived longer than you.”
Elves were generally said to be a long-lived race. About ten times the average human lifespan. They grew slowly too, and it took roughly two hundred years to reach adulthood.
In reality, Rafal’s appearance had barely changed since we first met. She already looked fully formed back then.
No matter how many years passed, her beauty stayed perfectly balanced. That was what it meant to be an elf.
“Master, aren’t you treating me too much like a kid?”
“You’re a kid.”
“Even though I’m older…”
Rafal puffed out her cheeks.
“If you’re older, then stop trying to put handcuffs on someone younger.”
“Then call me big sister?”
“Absolutely not.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m the orphanage director.”
In what world was there an orphanage director who called the kids big sister?
No such person should exist, and on principle it shouldn’t be allowed. It would probably count as some kind of crime.
“Call me Rafal big sister.”
“I said no.”
“No matter what?”
“No matter what.”
Even when she begged with those upturned eyes, my mind didn’t change. If the orphanage director started calling the kids big sister, he’d be finished as an adult man before he was even finished as director.
So no matter what she said, I had no intention of going along with it. After we stared at each other for a while, Rafal opened her mouth with a disappointed look.
“Hmm, oh well. I bought enough time anyway.”
“Eh?”
The moment I tilted my head, I suddenly felt something tightening around my shoulders.
When I looked, there were rings of light clamping down hard on both my arms. I tried resisting, but they didn’t budge.
“Gotcha!”
In the blink of an eye, she snapped the handcuffs on me. I instinctively tried to send them away with space magic, but nothing activated. The handcuffs must have had a magic-sealing effect.
“…I got played.”
“You let your guard down too much.”
Rafal said it while undoing the magic. Her skill was nothing short of impressive.
“You’ve grown.”
“I told you not to treat me like a kid.”
Rafal pouted unhappily but poked my cheek with her finger. That playful gesture made my heart skip, but at the same time I felt a wave of panic. Because she was pouring magic power into her finger.
“I wanted to try punishing Master at least once.”
A sharp glint shone deep in her eyes.
“Eh?”
“I’ll flow magic power into your ear. Elves have sensitive ears, and when magic power flows in, the sensations get amplified. That’s why it’s sometimes used for training or torture.”
“Torture!?”
“…And for lewd stuff too. Ears are an erogenous zone.”
“…Th-that’s for elves, right?”
“Who knows? Humans might feel it too?”
“…I-I’m not feeling anything.”
“It doesn’t have to be that way.”
Rafal leaned her face right up to my ear as she said it. Then she whispered,
“Want to try it?”
“Wait. Teaching that kind of thing at the orphanage isn’t—”
Before I could finish, Rafal’s fingertip touched my ear. A shiver ran down my spine, and a warm sensation spread around my ear.
“…!”
Then something flowed deep into my ear. It was a strange feeling, cold yet ticklish.
“How is it? Does it feel good?”
Rafal whispered into my ear.
“…It tingles.”
“Heh. So it does work a little.”
Rafal narrowed her eyes with interest.
“It doesn’t. It doesn’t work at all.”
“People who feel it the most always say that. Then let’s flow a bit more.”
“No, really. It really doesn’t work—”
I tried desperately to resist, but Rafal wouldn’t stop.
She usually kept her long hair down to hide her ears. Because if people found out she was an elf, when they were supposed to be extinct, it would cause all kinds of problems. Even so, she brushed her hair back, revealing her distinctive ears, and kept pouring something into mine.
“Does it feel good?”
I wasn’t doing anything wrong, but an overwhelming sense of guilt hit me and my head felt like it was about to boil over.
“Please, just stop.”
“Then will you do the experiment?”
“No, that’s…”
When I refused, Rafal strengthened the magic power even more. A gentle heat spread through my whole body as something from inside her invaded.
While I was being controlled by that sensation, I glanced at her. She was looking down at me with an ecstatic expression.
It was just like a grown woman—
“——!?”
I felt her growth. Her body hadn’t grown in these five years, but her heart had matured. This was dangerous in so many ways.
“I’m still going to attack more!”
“Stop. Please stop. No, seriously, have mercy.”
“It’s okay. I’ll make you feel even better!”
I refused desperately, but with my wrists locked in handcuffs, I had no way to resist.
“Uoooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
I no longer had any dignity left… Because I’d been one-sidedly trampled by the girl who was supposed to be the test subject.
I was a failure as a mad scientist.

[Side: ???]
The organization would mainly attack three places. The academy, the church, and the busiest market. The full plan was to release monsters at each spot and throw the city into chaos.
That said, the main target was the academy; the others were just distractions. The market where I was assigned was one of those.
In other words, my mission was pretty much nothing. I just had to watch the underlings release the monsters. If any weird people showed up I’d have to deal with them, but basically there was nothing for me to do.
So I was looking at the map with the attack points marked, wondering if I could kill some time somewhere, when…
“The orphanage, huh. That’s nostalgic.”
One spot caught my eye. It was the orphanage where I used to live.
It had been shut down once and now someone else was running it, but the building was still the same. I’d seen the outside before, but I’d never been inside.
“Perfect timing.”
Since I had time, maybe I’d go take a look. An old guy like me showing up would probably surprise them, but the city was going to have bigger problems anyway.
Visiting a nostalgic place and reliving a bit of my childhood might not be bad.
After all, once the organization’s goal was achieved, the whole city would collapse. Might as well pay my respects to the building one last time.
That was my decision on the eve of the decisive battle.
