Non-Human Girls Are Fighting Over Me ~ Do I Get to Refuse? “Nope!” “No Way!” “Not a Chance!” “Absolutely Not!” - Chapter 56 & 57
Chapter 56: Wife Moves (Monday)
Monday, after returning home, Ienari household.
“Ugh, today was rough as hell…”
The words slipped out.
I opened the front door with a click, slinging my bag off my shoulder.
“I’m home~… Oh, right. Mom’s not here today.”
It hit me.
Mom’s on a trip with friends. She won’t be back until Saturday—
…Or so I thought.
“Welcome back~ Dinner’s ready.”
Standing at the entrance, in a familiar uniform—Aki.
Smiling, acting like it’s the most natural thing.
“Huh, what’s going on!? Wait, this is my house, right?”
I glanced around the entrance, bewildered.
I’d unlocked the door myself, and it’s definitely my house.
“Yup, it is. Our house. What, shy now?”
Aki said it so casually.
Way too casually.
“Come on, get in. Food’s getting cold.”
Her tone, her gestures—total “wife” mode.
Confused but weirdly compliant, I mumbled, “Uh, okay…” and slipped off my shoes.
“Put your clothes in the washer, okay? I’m not picking up your socks. Got it? You’re not a kid.”
“…Uh, yeah.”
She’s completely taken over as the house’s boss.
I changed in my room and headed to the dining area.
There—
White rice, miso soup, ginger pork, niku-jaga, salad.
Homestyle dishes, just like Mom’s, lined the table.
“Let’s eat~”
“Let’s eat.”
We said in unison, picking up our chopsticks.
I took a bite of the ginger pork.
The bold soy and ginger aroma hit, urging more rice.
“…Yum.”
“Hehe, right? My masterpiece!”
Aki beamed innocently.
That smile stirred something in my chest.
“By the way… you’re already in full ‘wife’ mode? I’m kinda used to this stuff, but isn’t this a bit sudden?”
I paused my chopsticks, asking.
“Mode? What’s that? I don’t get it. I’ve always been your wife.”
Aki replied breezily.
“…I mean, I ‘set’ that perception for your mom.”
“Yeah, maybe for Samael, but… for me, Kazuto, this is a wild jump.”
“Hehe, is it? But it’s fine, right? You’ve always been mine.”
She smiled, as if speaking to someone lurking in the air.
“Hey, Samael? You’re listening, right?”
—Silence.
Then.
“Yup, he’s cool with it. Says he entrusts everything to his beloved Aki. Wants to whisper love to me. Even says we can ‘make kids now’ if I want.”
She dropped the bomb so casually.
Cough, cough!!
I nearly spat my miso soup, clapping a hand over my mouth.
“No way, no way! He’s not saying that! I just know he’s not!”
Desperately denying, I saw Aki’s lips curl into a smile—
“Really? He’d say it, I bet. Hehe.”
Her whisper was loaded with meaning.
After dinner.
“Bath’s ready.”
Aki, done clearing dishes, called out like it was nothing.
“Got it.”
I headed to the bathroom—but felt a presence behind me.
Sure enough, Aki was following.
“…Hm? What?”
“Huh? We’re not bathing together?”
“What!? Why would we!?”
“Duh, saves on electricity and water. We’re married, aren’t we?”
She said it like it was obvious.
…This isn’t about economic logic anymore, is it?
“Or… are you the type who likes soaking alone?”
“Uh, yeah… maybe~”
“Hmm, got it. Okay, take your time.”
Aki backed off easily.

Out of the bath, I returned to the living room, and there was Aki, sitting like she owned the place.
“Alright, I’ll walk you home. It’s getting late.”
I said, but—
“Hm? Walk who? Where?” Aki tilted her head.
“Uh, I mean… you…”
Time froze for a few seconds.
“Huh? Hm? Wait…”
“What’re you talking about? This is my house.”
“Wha… No, no, no, what’s the deal here?”
“Deal? I’m your live-in wife. This is my place now.”
She declared it like it was set in stone.
“So… where’s the place you were living?”
“Gone.”
Don’t say that so lightly!?
Is this a horror flick? Am I in a horror flick?
“I’m heading to bed. Gotta wake up early to make your bento.”
“…Uh, okay.”
I went to my room.
And, naturally, Aki followed.
Then.
“A queen-size bed in a six-tatami room? Shocked me. But saves us buying one.”
“…Yeah, uh-huh.”
(…Yup, saw this coming. Knew it.)
Resignation, or something like it, settled in my heart.
Chapter 57: Zero Dark Thirty
“Uh, yeah, good night.”
As we slipped into the same bed and turned off the light, only soft breathing filled the room.
The weight of the covers should’ve been calming, but Aki—Agrat’s—heart was a storm.
(Huh… I treated him like it’s the past life, all natural…)
(His past self and current self… not just personality, but the body’s different too. Same soul, though…)
Aki took a small breath, whispering to herself.
“Am I… cheating?”
The words didn’t sink into the covers—they echoed in her head, reverberating.
(No, this is bad. If Samael awakens, he might call this “cheating.”)
Her thoughts flipped wildly.
(But it’s the same soul. He’ll share the memories… probably. So the personality…)
(No, no, no. At this stage, he’s practically a different person. This is cheating, isn’t it?)
She stole a glance at Kazuto. His breathing was calm.
(Pretending to sleep, huh? Well, yeah. With a super cute girl like me next to you, you’re too shy to make a move. Faking sleep? Adorable.)
The moment she thought that, her inner demon (Aki) whispered.
(Hmm, can’t be helped~ A guy and girl in the same bed, nothing happening? Lame. If he can’t hold back, I’ll let him…)
A mischievous plan surfaced, and Aki subtly shifted, pressing her back and hips against Kazuto. “Accidentally.”
(Hehe, squirm for me. I wanna see that face, rationality on the brink.)
—A minute later. Nothing. His breathing stayed steady.
“Huh?” Aki muttered, a troubled smile creeping up.
(This guy still won’t bite? Such a wimp, it’s almost respectable.)
With no choice, Aki tried her next move. She closed her eyes, deliberately hugging him. A blatant setup to feel his warmth and scent.
—Another minute. Barely a reaction.
“Huh?” Another mutter.
“Hey.” Aki poked Kazuto’s cheek.
“Mmm…” A sleepy mumble.
“Hey, hey.” She poked harder.
Kazuto turned away, still sleeping. Utter indifference.
In that instant, something snapped in Aki.
“You—cut it out already!!”
Her roar jolted Kazuto awake, his groggy face snapping to panic.
“What, what, what’s wrong?” Kazuto froze.
“A super hot girl like me is right here, and you just sleep? Seriously?” Aki’s eyes blazed.
“Why, what, why’re you mad?” Kazuto was visibly shaken.
“Get a little worked up, would you? Be a man!” Aki snapped, scolding.
“Uh, uh, okay…” Kazuto’s reply trembled.
Aki sighed.
“Whatever.”
She yanked the covers back—then, the air rippled. The clock struck midnight.
“Let’s sleep together~” Towa appeared in the bed, teleporting.
But Aki was already there…
“Why’re you here?” Towa’s eyes widened.
“I’m his wife. Couples sleep in the same bed, obviously.” Aki said coolly.
“Hah!” Towa let out a sharp sound.
“Hmph!” Aki shot back.
The two started arguing on the bed, with Kazuto squished in the middle.
And so, the three ended up lying side by side, like a river’s kanji (川).
Sleep was out of the question, and their hushed bickering dragged on for two hours.
“Let’s sleep. Please let me sleep. I’m begging you.” Kazuto’s desperate plea went ignored.
That night, the Ienari household’s six-tatami room buzzed with weird tension and squabbles, never settling until dawn.
