Positive And Negative Magic Elements
I read further into that material, which I found at the end of the last page.
It was a copy of a research paper on magical elements written by a human researcher.
In it, there was a passage about the possibility that the demon tribe known as the Casper uses a magical element different from that used by us humans and other demon tribe members to perform magic.
If the magical element we usually use is a positive magical element, then it is an existence that should be called a negative magical element.
There was another unrecognizable world that overlapped with our world, and it was filled with negative magical elements.
The translucency of the casper was due to the phase shift, and although they are materially and spiritually from this world, their souls are from the other world.
The book is full of such things.
I checked the author.
Astra Hustedt, a name I had never heard of.
The content of the article itself was an infinitely scandalous hypothesis that contained almost nothing that could be called an argument…
It reminded me of what Femu said about mixing the two.
If that was what she meant there, positive and negative magical elements, then it would certainly make some sense about some of the events.
She is only half casper blood, so she is a little closer to this side of the world than normal casper.
Therefore, she could use magic that combines the magical elements of both worlds.
Such a hypothesis passed through my mind.
I thought I was thinking strange things, but maybe I should try everything I can.
“Whoa! Is it that late already?”
It was completely dawn, and the sunlight shining in from outside was strongly illuminating the desk top.
After quickly preparing for classes starting at noon, I went to the square again for morning practice.
The usual three students and Femmu had already gathered.
“Sorry, I’m a little late.”
“Good morning, are you training with Femu again today?”
Isuna asked as everyone greeted me.
“Yeah, I think it’s going to be so for a while, so it would be great if you could take care of the two of them for a little while longer.”
“That’s fine, but you remember your promise, don’t you~…?”
“Promise… Yeah, I remember all right.”
As I recalled, she asked for a cuddle.
Is that surprisingly cute or childish, or is it just something a woman would want you to do that much?
Maybe I need to learn more about maidenhood in order to be more comfortable in this all-female environment.
“I hope so… I’m one of those people who can tell if they are learning or not when I teach them.”
“Then maybe you could be a little gentler with me. Isuna-nee, you are a little too strict…”
San, looking a little worn out, spoke up from the side.
“If you want me to be nice to you, you’ll have to work a little harder. If you keep on like this, by the time you understand the basics, you’ll be a wobbly old lady.”
“That old~~??”
Fia, who was standing next to her, was also watching with a smile on her face as they exchanged there convos.
Five stepsisters.
When I heard that they were royalty, I imagined a power struggle like in the human world, but I can hardly feel such a sign from these children.
Thinking of this, I took Femy to the same place as yesterday.
“All right, let’s do it again today.”
She gave a small nod as usual as I put on the cage and turned to face Femu.
From then on, we repeated the same thing as yesterday again.
But… However, we did not produce any results.
“Can you still do it?”
In response to the question, Femu paused for a beat before nodding slowly.
Perhaps she felt that she was not making any progress at all, and she looked more downcast than ever.
While impatience was not a good thing, stagnation was just as problematic.
I thought it was still too early to add unnecessary information, but that may not be the case.
“Could you read this to me before we go on to the next one?”
I took out that paper I kept in my clothes and handed it to Femu.
Upon receiving it, Femu immediately begins to read through it, and in less than ten minutes, she finished the section in question.
“I was just looking into it to see if it might be of any use, what do you think?”
Femu showed hesitation in response to the question, not answering immediately.
After a few dozen seconds of silence, so quiet that the clamor of the three people on the other side of the room could be clearly heard…
“I’ll try one more time….”
With that, she slowly got up from the rock.
Perhaps there was some similarity between that paper and the sense of unnameability that she has, and she seems to have regained a bit of vitality in her standing posture.
I stood up as if following her and tried to put my hand on the cloth covering Femu’s head again, but…
“Wait….”
A restraining voice called out.
“What’s wrong?”
I took my hand away and asked her back, but she didn’t answer, as if she was concentrating on something else.
But there was no doubt that she was spontaneously trying to do something.
I watched her silently.
After a long period of silence, Femu slowly sticks her hands out in front of her.
Immediately thereafter, the atmosphere around them begins to stir.
This was exactly the same reaction that occurs when magic is used.
The next moment I thought, “No way.”
That black sphere appeared in front of the outstretched palm.
