Let me be a mob! - Chapter 83- Jealous?
With a dejected expression, Jin sat by the campfire with his eyes focused on nothing in particular as he listened to his teacher scolding him for a valid reason.
“… I told you to be wary of things you cannot perceive and be cautious of your surroundings. If you have the blessing of Spirits then why didn’t you take advantage of it and fortify your defenses before engaging in battle? And in the case of the high-ranking beast weren’t you supposed to make a sure hit kill? If a second I would have been late, that bear would have chopped your head off. ”
Fiona clenched her fist at Amanda’s words but she didn’t interfere since it was Jin’s request to let the Council President reprimand him. And she had a justifiable reason to scold Jin.
He not only utterly failed at blocking the attacks from the beast but due to his negligence of the said beast’s common route of hunting could have cost Jin his life.
Amanda was feeling uneasy by the mere thought, what if no one would have been present around Jin at that time?
“Gosh….take it easy President. We all make mistakes and despite this guy has shown overwhelming dominance against you it doesn’t mean you can expect him to do everything in the same manner. You admitted earlier that it was merely third-class Jin attending under your tutelage then shouldn’t you be cutting some slack here as well?”
If not for Eimi then barely anyone from the third year has the courage to talk in this manner with Amanda. But the latter didn’t seem to be offended by what the redhead spoke.
Amanda indeed was expecting something impossible from Jin. He indeed has shown the potential to become a better and stronger warrior than her but achieving something in mere days that she has mastered over the years…
With a deep exhale, Amanda calmed her nerves.
“Alright, we would change the course of training and Jin would only be allowed to hunt after I examine the immediate prey. ”
Amanda announced the plan since despite not wanting to see Jin pushing himself into any fatal danger, she wants him to continue the training as well.
After all, they had only less than twenty days remaining.
“Ah…how about I and this cute Junior of mine take a different route and hunt separately for some time? In this way we won’t get bored, Fiona would get to learn something and we may return with a decent amount of mana stones as well?”
Eimi brought up the proposal since she was getting extremely bored by following blinded Jin all this time. And from what could Eimi conclude, Fiona’s growth would stagnate if she remains under Jin’s shadow.
“Do whatever you want.”Amanda nonchalantly replied before she went to clean her blade which was coated with the bear’s blood.
Fiona’s eyes traveled toward Jin and found him looking at her. They both stood up, walked toward each other, and wordlessly halted inches apart.
“Take care of yourself. ” Fiona’s eyes had the determination which already told Jin that she was willing to go along with the senior and gain some real-life experience. The concern she had for Jin was clouded with the encouragement to become stronger and Jin liked that change in them.
“Mm… I will. ” Fiona held his hand and promised with a slow nod.
Jin remained silent for a bit before he leaned forward and planted a small kiss on her lips. It was a soft one that lasted for only some seconds but the reaction Fiona had, expressed otherwise. Her reactions always seem priceless.
Soon Fiona and Eimi departed toward the west from the location. Amanda and Jin were the only ones left on the small campsite they made to rest for a bit.
“So you two are dating?” Without turning to face and while polishing her blade, Amanda’s voice reached him before Jin turned in surprise.
Jin was perplexed seeing how out of character Amanda seemed by noticing or bothering with things that in her dictionary, was called just a waste of time.
Nevertheless, he answered her, “You noticed just now?” Jin replied while he gathered his things and cleaned up his own weapon as well.
“I don’t make assumptions until things don’t get too obvious. ” Amanda stood up as she spoke. Jin was unsure what kind of expression she currently had but her voice seemed a little off.
Treating it just as his misunderstanding, Jin continued to clean his stuff when suddenly his senses flared up and just on his instincts, he raised his dagger.
*Ting*
The sound of metal hitting metal resonated vividly as Jin widened his eyes to see Amanda holding her blade against Jin with the sharp side inches away from his neck.
“What the heck are you doing? ”
Jin tried to push her blade but Amanda’s strength was rendering the blade to even move an inch from the spot. There was a dangerous grin on her lips which made Jin baffled but he didn’t think of it much and deflected the attack by tilting his dagger.
Amanda didn’t attack him again as Jin glared at the girl in caution.
“So you still have it, huh? I thought that the Jin I faced off against has grown rusty over days after being infatuated with that silver doll. ”
Her voice seemed poison coated. The edge of her words made Jin even more agitated as not only her words but that cold grin was also out of place!
But soon Jin calmed himself before with a tilt of his head he spoke something that made Amanda shocked beyond belief.
“Don’t say you are jealous of Fiona… ”

As the day fell, the time limitation of the raid concluded and every student returned to the entrance of the dungeon.
Fiona and Dia were chatting in a corner and Silvie just standing there. Rena and Aiden were also sharing their experiences along with some seniors. Jin was standing silently near the front as he saw the mana stones of each group being counted.
The first place has already been decided the very moment Aiden and Brad submitted their sacs of stones which not only were heavier but in greater numbers than others as well.
And as for Jin…
“Student Amanda’s group has ranked last by submitting seventy-eight mana stones.”
Jin sighed.
