Let me be a mob! - Chapter 5- Fiona Lukehart!
It was yet another usual day for Fiona Lukehart since she more or less has been living this same life ever since she reached the age of six.
Being the daughter of one of the most prominent figures in the kingdom, Fiona indeed had to become a daughter worthy to be associated with her family name and not get left behind by her siblings who continuously try to crush each other.
Fiona had no such desire to make her younger or older sibling feel smaller than her but despite such a fact, whatever she did in the past her father praised her and told her brother and sisters to follow Fiona’s path if they want to become responsible in their lives.
And then came her awakening ceremony where she was evaluated with the blessing of Goddess Mirkit and become an official hero candidate. She along with her parents was happy about her newfound strength but that incident brought an even deeper crack between her siblings which Fiona plainly disliked.
She never asked for such blessings nor she was some kind of show-off who liked to be always being fawned on by her parents but not like Fiona was going to waste her talent and not help those who can’t help themselves. It was thanks to her father’s teaching that she came to know how important it is for someone to know their role in society and work actively to fulfill their obligation.
Thankfully, in some months she would be going away to attend the academy which would give her and her siblings a breather to relax.
Just like her, every hero candidate had to attend the Academy so they could be shaped in the best possible way and help humanity from any uncertain unfavorable future.
‘Well, I hope I can make friends in the academy…’
With a faint smile, Fiona exited the library where she normally goes once every month to get new publishing of her favorite author. Her father recommended getting the book delivered to her directly in the mansion but Fiona was against the idea.
She rarely gets the chance to leave the mansion, especially for some years because of the unstable situation of the Black Market, which was why her father asked her to stay indoors as much as possible.
Fiona generally doesn’t get stubborn about anything but the feeling of lining in the general queue and then finally being able to buy her favorite book gives her the sensation of some kind of accomplishment.
Fiona was currently walking out of the store with her book in hand as she rode inside her carriage back to the estate.
Lying back in her seat, she let her silver hair flow down her shoulders and her blue eyes sparkled with excitement as she impatiently waited to reach her room and unwrap the book as soon as she could.
“You never seem to be so excited about anything else, my lady. Even being awakened with a legendary attribute didn’t bring such a smile to your face, yet a fairy tale of a hero saving the heroine makes you so invested? I am simply amazed.”
Fiona pouted and ignored her personal maid who was the only person who knows the content of her favorite book since a girl her age doesn’t generally read the same old book which most adults categorize as childish.
It might be childlike for others but since a very early age, she has quite fantasized about the stories of the heroine being saved by the hero in shining armor at times of her greatest misery.
‘Well, not like something like that going to happen in real life…’
Sighing Fiona leaned back in her seat and relaxed her shoulder. The ride was half an hour away from the mansion so Fiona thought to take a small nap but as soon as her consciousness started to fade away, she sensed something.
“!!!”
Sensing some unknown aura approaching her, Fiona instinctively channeled her mana and felt an electric pulse radiating around her wrist. Despite her eyes still closed her habits kicked in and prepared Fiona for any uncertain danger.
“Hmmm…?!”
But her eyes soon widely parted in shock as she saw her mana being suppressed and the skill she was trying to utilize as her defense never formed. The more shocking fact was her maid who was now lying inside the carriage with a pool of blood expanding beneath her nape. She was dead.
Fiona’s heart raced as her breathing continued to get ragged due to this entirely unexpected ordeal but before she could react to the terrifying reality properly, a white fabric pressed on her nose and covered her mouth as well, further suppressing her yelp which she subconsciously let out.
‘W-what is this…’
She raised her hand to attack whoever dared to ambush her but she fell limp and just as her whole body, her vision began to swim in a daze like she has consumed the highest alcohol-containing drink in one go.
Her senses dulled and so did her reasoning as she felt her numb body being picked up by someone…familiar?
“Sea…mus?”
Even her gaze was hazy and her mind screaming for her to close her eyes and take a nap right at this instance, Fiona fought the urge with the last ounce of her strength and saw the face of the man who was appointed to guard her whenever Fiona left the mansion. She could have never thought that the person who was working for thirty years in the Lukehart family would betray her.
“Just sleep, my lady~ I will soon make you comfortable~”
No, there was something different about him, which Fiona could not pinpoint at this instance as she heard sirens and heavy footsteps approaching from somewhere. But she already had been taken away from her spot as Seamus jumped onto the roof of the nearby house with Fiona on her shoulder.
Her vision was getting darkened passing each second before Fiona forced her teeth to bite on the tongue with as much intensity as she could muster. She dug her nails into her palm as well, making her white knuckles turn pale in the process. But that didn’t concern Fiona since her primary motive was to stay conscious and somehow make her position visible to anyone around.
But as much as she tried to even produce a single illumination with her mana, she failed miserably and continued to ride on the back of her kidnapper. She was panicking in her heart as she saw herself distancing from the mansion. Her heart sank when she heard the sirens distancing as well, like the last of her hope was getting away from her yet she couldn’t do anything to catch it.
Maybe it was the first time she felt so helpless…
*CLINK*
Seamus came to halt as the sound of something rusty twisting reached Fiona’s ears before she felt her body dropping to the ground with her surroundings entirely different from the outside. From her limited vision, she could affirm that she was thrown inside from a small window and currently was in a shack-like room withstanding dim to almost no illumination.
However, despite such an arrangement, the wide grin on the ba*stard’s face was in her clear view. The way he grinned at her pathetic helpless situation didn’t go unnoticed but there was nothing she could do to help herself. Even she tried to flail or move even an inch from her spot, she ended up struggling fruitlessly.
Seamus slowly threw his blazer and undone his buttons before he knelt down and unsheathed a small dagger in his hand.
With his evil smirk never leaving his face, the bald bodyguard began to tear Fiona’s strap of her one-piece floral dress. Slowly he savored the moment when he could make the all-time arrogant girl weak and feeble in his clutches. The look of depravity in her eyes. The way she was loathing him yet not being able to speak a single word, enthralled the man beyond belief.
The excitement was enough for him to fasten his pace as he took a hold of her collar and tore the dress until her pink bra was in clear view. Her supple skin along with the meat buns resting inside the fabric made him lick his lips.
‘Oh, Goddess Mirkit…I beg you…please help me…’
She pleaded with the all-knower to provide her at least an ounce of strength to fight back…or at least end herself since anything but seeing herself getting defiled by this man was something she couldn’t ever accept. A pool of tears ran down her cheek but nothing changed as the man raised his hand to touch her bosom.
There was no more helping…she…was resigned to this fate which she might not be able to overcome even after her death.
But something happened as Seamus’ hand never reached her as the man suddenly widened his eyes and turned on his toes to face the small window on their left.
Then it appeared…the miracle she was praying for.
*BOOOOM*
“Khak! Who the fuck are you!!”
