Let me be a mob! - Chapter 30- True might~2!
It’s been a mere eight minutes ever since the groundbreaking echo reverberated throughout the jungle upon the first clash between a human and an inhumane.
Though Jin had covered his limbs with a layer of ice using the water spirits’ blessing, to lessen the impact of the hammer, the fact that he was facing a C-rank no less, made Jin take the first blow in his account and face some minimal damage.
With time, the monkey was getting more aggressive and never halted in its barrage of kicks and punches at Jin who was using his spirituality to cover his arms with ice as soon as they shatter. He had to do so if he didn’t want to lose his components and get done soon after.
***GRUOOOOO**
The monkey made a growling sound, uncharacteristic of the creature before it swung its elongated left arm up high before using the momentum, pulling it down to smash Jin’s head in one single strike.
***KRIIIK**
Jin raised his ice-coated arm which was getting thinner with time, to protect his head but as a result, his shield got shattered followed by a numbing pain that was arising because of the fight and constant use of blessings as well.
Jin was not quite efficient to get his body tampered with and let the spiritual energy flow through that body, which was only familiar with mana as its survival necessity. It was like in a situation of extreme thirst, your body was made to drink energy liquor which gave you quite an amount of recharge to move yet it was not accustomed to the habit.
The monkey upon failing yet again to defeat its enemy just like it wanted, and always has done in the past, roared even louder, showcasing its massive canines which were greedy to slash and tear flesh. The ruby-red eyes of the creatures glimmered dangerously under the faint sunlight making them even more intimidating, that even the surrounding creatures escaped in fear of getting into the crossfire.
On the other side, Brad and Dia were able to defeat all the mob monkeys, thanks to the fact that whenever the Illusion monkey strikes Jin, all the smaller fodder stale at their position for just a single instance. And being a fighter from a very early age, both Dia and Brad noted the pattern before exploiting it and bringing an end to the short-lived battle.
However, neither of them was celebrating their victory because something so massive and dangerous was mercilessly charging at Jin who slowly yet surely was falling weak with each strike he tanked.
The usually overly confident Brad was also frozen at his spot with his eyes narrowed and sweat dripping profusely as he thought about the possible resort he could depend on, to at least be of some use and kill this giant fu king monkey.
But whatever he thought, nothing sort of conclusion ever arrived. That monster was just that ruthless and strong, that Brad feared, one strike from it would be the end of his journey. That C-ranked was the real threat of which Brad was entirely unaware due to the favorable conditions he was brought up in. Something so life-threatening was never let anywhere near the noble-born resulting in Brad’s current condition where he could do nothing but stare at Jin fending off the monster all alone.
“I have to help him…”
On the other side, Dia was also stunned and scared shitless like this for the first time since the shockwave she was feeling from each of the monster’s blows was something that made her realize what true strength was actually capable of. She was disillusioned that working hard would make her invincible. If that would have been true then rather than Jin, she would have been facing that monster.
However, despite not having the strength to even put a decent blow on the creature, Dia was not going to see Jin struggling all alone and she just stand at the side, watching idly.
“Don’t, your highness.”
Just as she was about to jump into action, Brad spoke up in a grim tone, much to Dia’s annoyance as she turned her head to respond harshly but when she saw the look in Brad’s eyes, she knew something was up. And his following words cleared her doubts.
“Jumping now would become a hindrance in his battle.”
Dia looked at Jin once again, only to see him defending the monkey’s frontal kick with his both palm and getting swept away because of the force, hurting his arms in the process. The battle seemed cruel and one-sided in any way she observed it, making Dia frown as she nearly shouted at Brad.
“Battle?! How can you conclude something like a fight when Jin is getting beaten up like that!?”
She wasn’t mocking Jin, but stating the truth and she could understand the reason for it. A peak C-rank monkey fighting under manaless surrounding was nigh impossible. At least someone on B rank could handle the creature with their pure physical might. But to expect someone as high as D-rank to defeat that monstrosity? Indeed, unreasonable.
However, in the blindness of her worries which stems from the fact that Dia had begun to feel a small bond of friendship with Jin, she was not able to see the thing Brad did as he walked forward and whispered in a low tone.
“Can’t you see…that bastard is purposely making the monkey blind in anger. Look at that sketchy smirk he has…”
Dia was perplexed but still focused her eyes after wiping the moisture off, and found that indeed there was a thin yet visible mocking smile spread on Jin’s lips even though he was getting pushed back with the blows.
And truth be told the monkey seemingly was getting fiercer with its assault as well, signifying that Jin was succeeding in what he intended to do. However, the reason for concern still remained the most obvious factor.
“He is making that thing angry…but why…?”
Brad had no answer to that since Jin blocked his spear yesterday with one finger tells that Jin was strong. No, he was overpowered. That means, irritating the beast must have some intention behind it. Or maybe, Jin was simply retard and was smiling foolishly in the face of death?

[Two minutes ago]
Aiden was advancing toward the scene which was sending tremors all around even though he should be focusing on his mission first. He didn’t know what was the source of such great shockwaves but his instincts told him that whatever was happening at the heart of these waves was dangerous and uncanny.
He ignored the pleas and yells of his teammates who pursued him to stay on the task and get the first prize since it would give them as well as Aiden, the desired reward. However, he put a blindfold on them since he was having a very bad feeling about this whole thing.
He was not sure why no emergency flare has been shot up if something was really not good but he couldn’t stay back and do nothing just on his presumption that these shockwaves were nothing to be worried about.
He tried to enhance his senses and use the skill [Observation] around the area but for some reason, he was not able to track in the south-eastern direction after a certain point. Thus, amplifying the raven-haired boy’s anxiety.
“Aiden!”
“Rena!”
Suddenly Aiden came to a halt as he saw a familiar brunette girl standing on a tree branch trying to navigate or something. He called out for her before climbing up the tree, startling Rena in the process.
“Have you found anything about these shockwaves?”
Rena got out her surprise before she frowned. Shaking her head, she looked in the same direction where Aiden was forwarding previously, as she spoke in a slightly grim tone.
“I am not sure. I saw Fiona some seconds ago approaching that way but she didn’t stop even though I tried to call her.”
Aiden’s face darkened even more as he realized that if not previously then now someone from the school was going toward the source of such a heavy battle cry. He was not sure if there was any group in the South-eastern but Fiona was heading there meant only one thing.
“She is in danger.”
Aiden jumped off the branch followed by Rena who began trailing behind the boy who led them toward the scene. She might not be a five attribute holder like Aiden but considering Fiona might be in a grave threat made Rena prepared for whatever was about to show up.
They not have been acquainted more than a day but Rena was not someone who could let even a stranger jump in a pit so this was her own classmate.
But little did she or Aiden think that upon arriving at the scene, not only the tremors would get paused but they would be greeted with such a sight.
“The heck…”
Rena completely disregarded the group of students standing at a side which included Fiona Brad and Dia as her eyes were currently fixated on a single person standing slightly afar from them.
Except for the fact that the boy was completely coated in blue-black blood which didn’t belong to him naturally, what made everyone agape at the sight was the monster who most probably was the reason for the previous shockwaves.
But now, all they could see was a half-cleaved corpse lying at the feet of its slayer…
